On their website, you can sign up for a free intro class where they give you an intro to TM for free. From there, you pay for a four-day course. The fee you pay is based on your income. During the course, they teach you the TM technique, how to do it correctly, etc. This is the only TM center in Houston and it's inside the loop. They have a parking lot and they share the space with several other businesses. It's not the nicest building but it does the job. My instructor, Paula, and her husband were both great. I had a wonderful experience and I would recommend TM to almost anyone!

I was that comfortable and appreciated the me time and peaceful sounds. At one point you do hear the crashing sounds of a gong or horn (sorry first time and don't know the terminology) that were a little too loud that is what startled me and I was not able to go back into the concentration. Only downfall was they forgot to give me my blanket to cover up with so I was freezing the entire time. It's not a place you can raise your hand or yell out. I appreciate they do provide lockers, that you can personalize during your visit, with included phone chargers, clean bathrooms and a selection of warm teas.

I arrived at 1pm and there were several other folks there for the event. After signing in at the desk, the staff walked me over to the locker and showed me where to keep my things. After everyone arrived, one of the ladies gave us an intro to meditation and then we watched a 7 min video about the science behind mindfulness and meditation. The video needs to be updated as there was a lack of diversity (e.g, age, race, etc.) and that turned me off slightly. After the video, we were walked into the room, asked to grab a blanket and got into the hammock for the 45 minute sound bath and meditation. I serve on a board for an organization that's focused on mindfulness but this was my first time participating in a full on practice. It was very calming and allowed me to really get centered. The time went by fast and our instructor set the right pace. They offer a free session for first timers so I will be taking advantage of that. The studio is very clean, and they offered tea and other refreshments. But most importantly, there's plenty of parking.

I went to their website and noticed that they offer free meditation classes, free tai chi classes, along with other classes. I decided to sign up for the meditation class and I am there now every Wednesday. The classes last 12 weeks I believe. Upon entering the Center you are immediately welcomed by the people at the desk. Shifu also greets you and you just feel like you belong. The energy in the center is amazing. You are at peace when you enter. You are surrounded by kind minds. The meditation sessions are two hours long. The first session is where we meditate and the second session is the dharma talk where we learn about Buddhism. I have only done meditation here. I have yet to try out the other classes that are offered. This is a great place and anyone looking for a fresh start or just an introduction to peace of mind this is a great place to start and you will feel like family.

I had my first reiki session with Victoria just 3 months ago and I can't begin to describe the amount of positive change that I've felt within my self since then. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by Victoria's welcoming and warm energy. The first 15-20 minutes of the session was introductions and her explaining Reiki to me (since it was my first time). I was told I had blockages in my throat, brow, and crown chakras, and my heart chakra was overactive (not a surprise). She gave me a couple of pointers on how to heal my heart chakra and I've definitely felt a change since then... I practice more self love, I'm less jealous, I lash out in anger less. I feel more balanced. I didn't actually [feel] much during my Reiki session, other than I got a sudden urge to cry at a memory that popped in my head. I let it out, made sure to breathe through it, and once everything was said and done, I felt as if I just had a massage. I felt light, relaxed, at peace. The next few days that followed, I was very in tune with my emotions and everything around me. I saw a lot of synchronicities (and continue to!), felt a deep sense of connection to the universe, had sooo many random childhood memories seemingly out of nowhere.. Some of them were not so pleasant, but I feel it was necessary for healing. My life has continued to rapidly change since then and my spiritual journey has somewhat sped up since my first visit with Victoria and for that I can't thank her enough. Because I felt the healing powers the first time around, I went back a second time to what I thought would be my son's first reiki session. He was 1.5 yrs old and still didn't sleep through the night. I felt something was bothering him and knew Victoria could help me figure it out. Long story short, she picked up on a spirit attachment and was able to remove it. Now THAT experience, I felt through my entire body. After about a week, my son started sleeping throughout the night. I could go on for pages about my second experience at Simply Reiki and how incredibly life changing it has been for me and my healing journey, but I will spare the details. Victoria is amazing! I was going through an incredibly stressful time earlier this year that left me emotionally and mentally drained. I did not feel my best in any capacity. I started to research natural healing methods/practitioners in Houston and found Simply Reiki...and I am so glad I did! My first reiki session was amazing- I felt so much lighter when I left, I had a cleared head, and everything that I was stressed, worried, or upset about before my session was not as extreme when I left. After I left my session, I felt more myself, and I felt more balanced. Victoria removed the negative energy that I was carrying around, and I could feel this immediately after the session. I usually am one to get a massage when stressed- but after my reiki session, I realized it does so much more for me, and leaves a balance and calmness that lasts much longer than a massage would. After attemps with other resources including doctors, lifestyle changes, and counseling with little imrpovement, I watched a documentary on energy healing leading me to look up Ms Victoria up here locally. I was able to reach her quickly, set up an appointment quickly and she has been more than willing to work with my schedule. My sessions thus far have been a time to relax at the very least in my busy work week - if that was all I got out of my sessions it is so soothing in her office enviornmenr that I would return for that alone! However, during treatment I realized this practice was not "quack" and would highly recommended her to friends and family...and have done so. She is professional, communicated well offering tips, advise, causes, goals moving forward after treatment, and is realistic. Victoria was astounding!!! When I arrived she took me to the room where the reiki would be performed. I filled out a medical sort of sheet. She asked if I had any questions about her or reiki and what she would be doing. I felt very comfortable with Victoria. I laid on the table and she cleansed my aura. Then she assessed body and chakras and told which ones were blocked. She then performed the reiki and I already felt lighter (wish there was better word) especially in certain trouble areas. When she was finished she assessed all my chakras again to make sure they were cleared. She told me what to work on to keep then open especially the ones that were blocked.Victoria was very helpful, knowledgeable, easy to talk to and makes you feel very relaxed. I am amazed at how much my overall body feels so much better, the only way I can describe it is lighter and swirly. I will definitely be going back. Hello, I had a wonderful experience at Simply Reiki on Saturday, Feb. 9, with Tye. He is a wonderful healer and my session was so relaxing. I felt like the channels were clear and I felt calmer after. Plus, now I know where you all are located. A bit tricky to find, but definitely worth it. I had been familiar with Reiki but had never tried it before, but definitely came in with the confirmation bias that it is real and it works .... and it does. I have followed up on some of Tye's advice since the session, and I expect things to go very well as I start to see results in a few weeks! My mother is very interested in have a session done. I have visited twice with Jessica at Simply Reiki. Both times, I have felt amazing after the session. This is the only place I have had a Reiki session, I do not have comparison. I will share that after my first session, I knew I would be back. And now after my second session, I know I am now convinced that this is a MUST. I plan to bring my family, including my children, that's how powerful I feel about these sessions. I feel so much calmer, lighter, relieved. This feeling is powerful and unlike any other feeling I have experienced. I heard good things about Reiki, but am a very skeptical person. I thought it may be relaxing, but not much more than a placebo. I was very wrong. Victoria took me very deep, very quickly, and addressed issues that were very ingrained and some I was even unaware. I left feeling like I had awoken from a very hard sleep (though remember everything that was said/done), and feeling great--not "happy"--more like very relieved like a big weight was removed. Very calm inside; peaceful. I plan to go again quite soon. Victoria was excellent, very perceptive, kind, and remarkable at what she does. I absolutely love coming to Victoria for a Reiki session. I've had three so far and each one has been wonderful! My shoulder pains are getting less and less severe each time I go. Her office space is so warm and inviting. Victoria has also done an Akashic Record Reading for me, I really didn't know what to expect. It actually was very interesting and helpful. At first I thought I didn't get much out of it but I have noticed in the 48 hours after my session a really profound sense of clarity that I have kind of been hoping for but hadn't really achieved. I am so happy I found Victoria. I looked for various reiki sessions around Montrose and Chinatown but none of them seemed sincere or vibing from a place of love. The session was great and she knew things right away like the tension in my shoulders and the anxiety I hold in my clavicle. Ok, super stressed so thought I'd give Reiki a try. Got the cleaning and a massage with deep tissue and aroma therapy. Excellent experience! It got rid of the 30lb bowl ball in my stomach!!! Wow! I had my first reiki healing today and it was incredible! I felt like a new person when I was leaving. I have to admit I was more than a bit skeptical but my wife convinced me to try it and I am so glad I did. It is as if all the stress of daily work and family life has been lifted off of me. We conversed about why I was there and her vibe was easy and honest: like talking to a wide friend. She checked my chakras then went to work. The overall experience was comfortable and clarifying. I left and was feeling better for days after. Often time we store energy in our bodies when stressed, triggered, or traumatized which causes blockage. I'm thankful for her healing work in releasing areas of blockage yet, getting to know me first. After cancelling, I received a text which read " Very disappointed you cancelled your Reiki appointment 24 hours before. I have a waiting list of people that would have taken that time, a few of them stage 4 cancer survivors. David" His policy requests that cancellations occur at least 24 hours prior to the appointment. Part of me is chalking this up to him maybe having a bad morning, but this was so inappropriate. When I explained why I cancelled, there was no apology. Life happens, rather than guilt-tripping people without having any knowledge of their circumstances, working with them to understand why the cancellation was made/ finding an alternative time to reschedule that works with your schedule could prove more advantageous.

I'm a fighter. I've fought mentally, I've fought physically, and I've fought emotionally. I've been through some serious trauma in this life, where most people would have given up and just walked away. Or just decided that this life is too hard for them and they are ready to find peace. Melanie took me on this journey. It started off with hypnosis. I was in so deep I no longer felt my physical body. It felt like I fell through the floor into nothingness. Then the images came. I was a very large male warrior in a past life. My live wasn't exactly great, but it had it's good moments. My death was pretty disturbing, but I felt no fear. It was my time. One thing she told us is if you see an angel, stay with the angel. I realize now I did see an angel, but I didn't know it then. I couldn't quite describe her, so I said she was a nun. Back in 863 bc I'm not sure there were nuns. There were also no perfectly clean women in baby blue with a white light around them. Everyone is dirty. Even if I did try and stay with her, I'm not sure I could. The images were vivid and came quickly. Not everyone in the room was able to go back. Some saw small glimpses, some saw nothing, some stories were tragic. For me, it was the answer to many of my life's questions. It explained why I fight for those who can't fight for themselves. Why I never give up. Why I am the way that I am. I'm hoping to do this again with Melanie. If you get a chance to try it, I highly recommend you do. Like I said, I went in with an open mind. I didn't expect to see what I did. I've always felt like I've been here on this earth many times before, and I already know I'll be here again. I'm looking forward to seeing some of my other lives.
