I've been seeing Dr.Navarro for years. The language barrier with some of her staff drives me batty, but the service is always excellent. She always remembers who I am (not just because she reads my chart), but really seems to care about me as a patient and my ability to perform my daily activities. I was sent away after I waited months in pain for an appointment. I have two insurances and even offered to pay cash after Erika told me and the entire office (including another patient) that I would need to cancel an insurance first. I said ok I will but that takes time. I was told up to 60days. This office left me without treatment as I was automatically enrolled into an insurance and was going to decline. She said I was not allowed to pay cash because I had insurance but she would not bill my primary insurance that I've had for years because of the automatic enrollment of another I needed to decline. Where is the ethics and morals of this office to leave someone in chronic pain because they have too many insurances. And cash. I can only hope they do not do this to other patients. I am not sure if it was race/gender related because the other person in the office of my same race and gender was treated very poorly as well. I should have known this office was terrible when I called to make my appt and they said they only offer injections. I said no cream or pills etc? I said ok I'll let my PCP and insurance know. Then the receptionist changed her tune. All of a sudden she said "oh I tell people that because we get drug seekers here". I said ma'am I have been in the pharmaceutical and insurance field for 20 years. You have to t/f meds before you can get approved for some injections. read more

I rarely leave reviews, but I felt the need to share my experience. The registration process at this clinic was unnecessarily complicated and frustrating. I came in prepared, but instead of helping guide me through, the front desk staff had a condescending tone and weren't particularly welcoming or helpful. It felt like I was being blamed for issues that weren't clearly communicated in the first place, and I ended up doing extra work just to get seen. I understand clinics get busy, but a little patience and kindness go a long way -- especially when patients are already stressed or vulnerable. Dr Navarro has the best team of specialist. They are knowledgeable and caring. What they do relieves your pain within a matter of seconds. it's truly amazing. PLEASE REROUTE YOUR REFERRAL!! Receptionist Erica and Manager Carmen were completely unprofessional and extremely rude when attempting to schedule a 1st time appt. At some point the receptionist denied medical care after going back and forth with me about basic intake questions. Manager answered the phone yelling, "YES??!" with attitude. When she first started her practice her office staff was acceptional. Now as a returning patient to her office her staff makes excuses as to why they can not return calls, communicate effectively, efficiently or maintain a sense of understanding they might be speaking to someone in the field. Dr. Navarro is a great Dr. Her staff lay lacking the skill to maintain her sense and accuracy that a pain specialist must have. Leaving patients in the dark wondering. My primary care doctor referred me to this pain management doctor. The mistake I made was not thinking about looking at reviews before going. I was actually in the office filling out paperwork and dealing with the office staff up front and It was with this experience that I thought I should have a look at the reviews. What I found completely supported what I was experiencing which was the rudest staff I have ever encountered at a doctors office.. What was clearly obvious was that for all the negative reviews which spoke to this lack of professionalism and lack of courtesy (down right rudeness), someone from the office had actually replied with a standard response which was of no help. They have seen all the ratings, all speaking to the same thing and here I was going through it myself. The fact that after all the ratings, they still have this going on in the office is when I felt this was the wrong place for me. The office is also downright tacky, unlike any other pain management doctors office I had been to in over 30 years. I hope you are not reading this because you made the same mistake I did. read more

Horrible front desk staff. As we were waiting in line to check in, another customer outright cuts in front of my elderly mom and myself today. The tattooed receptionist just says they were here waiting too. When they were not even in the same room when we got in line! Pay attention! Almost got into a fight with the rude lady but decided to take the high road. The receptionist did nothing to deescalate the situation or apologize. Every time I bring my mom here they are always on their cell phones. Bad customer service. They also make you wait for ever. If your appointment is at 3:00pm you won't be seen until 4:00 pm. read more

As a caregiver to my elderly mother I brought her in for her first appointment. The receptionist was extremely rude and said said only the patient was allowed in the office. It wouldn't have been a problem if we hadn't noticed multiple families with 2-3 people in the waiting room. I usually am not the one to write bad reviews but my mother was scared going in alone to get injections in her neck. Until a couple months ago Valerie would cancel appointments the day of. This shows how un organized she is. Her responses are always,if you don't like it you can find another Dr. My mom had an appointment back in July while in the office she cancelled again but this time the excuse was Dr. Navarro doesn't take her insurance anymore. (Aetna) my mom has had the same Insurance for over 30 years all of a sudden they don't take that insurance is BS. I made an appointment and let rep know I have new insurance. They said it was fine and made my appointment. Alina calls me today to say it's cancelled. They didn't check their end, update, nothing. Then why didn't you do your job? I work in healthcare. With doctors as well. I never schedule any surgery patient without checking their insurance and NEVER cancel the day on or before. My husband and I would also give a zero if we could. My husband is a Korean War Veteran with a purple heart who suffers from PSTD. He needs pain medication and we were told that while she doesn't give meds on the first visit, that she was opened to it. However, once we got into her office, she walked in and told my husband flat out that she doesn't give pain meds. So, he said they had nothing more to discuss and walked out. She then wrote a scathing letter to my husband's primary doctor accusing him of being angry (which he was), belligerent, which he wasn't, and a drug addict, which he isn't. She also wrote one to my husband to try and cover her behind, saying that she could no longer treat him and that she had done her best when, in fact, she did NOTHING, but waste our time. We have since put in a formal complaint to my husband's insurance company and requested a refund. Her behavior was totally unacceptable. read more

I have never been to the doctor. But my husband has. I have called several times to make an appt for him with no call backs, it is very frustrating. My husband went into the office and he told me that the staff was very rude to him and they kept assuming that he was me, even after showing identification. They were supposed to submit an authorization for an MRI which he really needs being that he's in severe pain. They never failed to do so, we called the insurance and nothing was ever submitted. It's been well over 1 month and we never gotten a call about the MRI, of course because it was NEVER SUMBITTED. I called and spoke to the receptionist yesterday regarding this matter, she then transferred me to the nurse's voicemail, I left a message on the nurse's voicemail and never got a call back and this was more than 24 hours later. So I called today to speak to the office manager, Carmen, who was being very rude to me. She told me that I have no permission to talk to her regarding my husband's health. I told her that my husband gave me permission to speak to them about his health (he was right next to me). That's when I handed him the phone and he took it from there. From what I am told and from what I hear they are very unprofessional and their staff seems to know nothing. I would not recommend anybody going to this doctor. Doctors are supposed to be there to help you a long with their staff, not make you wait on something that you really need. read more

I have seen this woman several times... her staff members have been trained to NOT be smart (not to think for themselves) and she has, on many occasions, wasted my time. I only see her because it's close to my home and it's convenient. I try to go on my way to work, so I had scheduled some 8:00 AM appointments (first appointment of the day - how could she be running late?). Well, on one occasion, she kept me waiting ONE HOUR (until 9:00 AM). The excuse was, "she is in a meeting." I asked "Does she realize she had a patient scheduled at 8:00?" The reply was "yes." This simply states that she has no respect for anyone else's time. I should have billed her for my time each time I was kept waiting (even for mid-day appointments, they were always running behind). Right now, I have a referral dated 8/25/15 to see her again for another pain issue, and although I have a referral number and printed copy from my insurance company of the authorization, they REFUSE to make me an appointment. I offered to fax it to them, but they refuse because they have not received THEIR copy of the authorization. My copy should suffice, as it will have the same authorization number on it. It makes NO SENSE. It's time for me to find another pain specialist.... read more

Terrible service. Made an appointment and then they tell you to show up 15 min early to fill out papers. Waited for an hour and nothing. The place was empty. I can see why. Don't waste your time here. Had to just leave because they don't even tell you how much longer it will be. They just said it's a process to wait. Wtf? But if you show up late they charge you. It's horrible, Receptionists are very unfriendly no smile and talk back to patients, they are busy checking their cellphones. Staffs are ok, but talk a lot each other's in Spanish all the time, so as Dr. Navaro. Thought she pays attention to patient, but I guess it's depend on the day.(some day, busy talking to staff and not even say "hi" to me.) Waiting time is average 1.5 hour. So prepare to wait long time. Manager is awful, too. Obviously, over booked patients, But manager never admits( of course) No apologies, instead, "If you don't want to wait, you can reschedule" that how she talks and if you reschedule, you have another 1.5hours wait again. I was referred, I had bad experiences since the first visit to fourth. They made me wait for about an hour all my visit and staff are always too busy to talk in Spanish. The last visit, after I waited for again about an hour, they didn't even send me to another room, doctor came but just stood by the door and said, "if you are fine right now, you are good to go" She made me feel that my time is not important and didn't even want to ask the questions I wanted to. Injection treatment day, I heard them talking Spanish and laughing, I was super nervous but that didn't even help.. For Spanish speakers, I guess that's fine but if you are looking for the clinic for your pain, find another pain management clinic. read more

I was referred to Navarro and told to be at the office at 7:45 to fill out paper work before a 8:00 appointment. After sitting in a over refrigerated room for an hour they send me upstairs to an over filled room with patients. After 15 minutes I asked out loud if this was the norm and was told yes but that it's not as bad as Shot day's. I was a tad upset by this point, in pain, cold and I ran out without anything to eat. I finally get a room where the AC is maxed and get asked the same questions I answered on the paperwork again. By now I'm getting a little steamed but... after 10-15 minutes more I get up to go get a sweat shirt from my truck and am told that I'm next with the doctor standing there while he told me. I go back to the room and 5 minutes later the office manager comes in with the nurse and another girl to tell me that the doctor wouldn't see me because of my attitude (0,0) They book all appointments for one time and make everyone sit there until they get called, I was there for two and a half hours before being told she wouldn't see me, staff is insanely rude and loud. I recommend going elsewhere. read more

Id give this place no stars if i could. I was on 5 mg hydrocodone for a year. Got a new doctor who wanted to take me off it and start me on physical therapy and pain management. I was referred here. My first visit was a nightmare. I showed them my MRI chart which shows I have 3 herniated discs one pinching a hip nerve. Instead of doing a urine screen to prescribe me meds that I know help they tried pushing lyrica on me. Ive taken it before along with gabbapentin, baclofen, flexeril, and all the non narcotics you can think of. I told them my pain is at a 8-10 daily and lyrica takes at least a week to establish in your system not to mention the mile long side effects. So i refused. My body! Im a working mother I cant take meds like that they cause me to pass out. So i go in about a month later for my first pain block shot. Im informed the doctor wont prescrive meds. Still no drug screening. The mention 3 times that its for my upper back even tho my hernia is in the lower back and hips. After the injection i started having spasms and pain in my lower back. I assumed it was normal. Woke up the next day with it 10x worse. Called the doctor right away and every hour until 230. I was originally told by the nurse to take hydrocodone but i told her i had none. So at 230 the doctor tells me to take tylenol and if it doesnt help go to the ER. I was furious as i had already been doing that and it wasnt helping. Pain started to radiate down my leg and you can feel physical spasms on my left side. I asked to speak to the manager who eould not even let me say my side. Just interuppted to say the doctor has to do a urine screen before prescribing narcotics. I wasnt even drug seeking I am scared for my health had no idea what to do. I became upset she wouldnt let me speak. I told her it was my body my health and the doctor shouldnt brush me aside i was miserable all day. She ended up hanging up on me. Im furious. Ill be reporting them to BBB, my insurance company, and the medical board. This is malpractice. read more

I was referred for pain management. They told me my appointment was at 8. Upon arrival I started paperwork. Once I filled it out the receptionist told me my appointment is for 9am not 8. Took me maybe 15 to fill out the paperwork leaving me 45 min to wait. Then they referred me upstairs to wait an additional 45 min. I finally told them I had to leave and would reschedule and neither of the receptionist acknowledged me. They have terrible customer service, worst scheduling and I will never go back again and do not recommend anyone to waste their time and gas the way I did. read more

I have been dealing with this practice for several months now with no relief. Dr. Navarro is actually a very sweet lady who seems to know what she is talking about but her staff is highly incompetent. Would not recommend this facility and as a matter of fact if you get referred here.....change your doctor. You will thank me. Long wait times. No genuine staff . And the worst part..... Nothing they did worked after several visits and several hundred dollars in co-pays. Avoid at all cost. Don't let them shoot you with injections without finding out what's wrong with you. I have a herniated disc and before they knew that they injected me with painful shots. Then when that didn't work, they sent me for an MRI which exposed the herniated disc. Instead of sending me for a surgeon (which I wanted) more injections over several months. Beware. The bottom line seems to be the only thing important here. read more

My dealing with this clinic has been thru the phone and has not been pleasant. I was referred by my primary doctor to this clinic and it has been a week trying to make an appointment, (I called 3 times) after first leaving me on hold for at least 3 minutes the woman on the phone said I needed to talk to someone in charge of new patients. Well you cannot talk to someone live, is just a voice mail box. After leaving my information the first time I was expecting someone to call me back within 24 hours, I waited 2 days and called again, did the same thing. Today I called and after waiting on hold again for at least 3 minutes the old lady that answer my call said she was going to connect me to the new patients extension, I immediately told her I have been leaving my information and no one calls back and I said I needed to talk to someone, she answered very rudely and raising her voice that if I didn't want to be connected to that extension she could not help me. I said thank you and hanged up. If this is how this clinic treats its patients I don't want any dealings with them. I am calling my primary doctor to get a referral for another pain doctor. I've been in pain for months , so my primary recommended this pain specialist.What a great experience. The front office girls know you have a lot of paperwork and give it to you in increments, so I didn't feel overwhelmed. The gentleman in the back offered me a smile and water. I have never seen such RUDE people in my life. This includes doctors and every other business I have ever visited. After waiting 2 hrs and 10 mins to see the doctor, they waited 10 days to put in my referral (one piece of paper) for approval. 7 days later, I called again to find out why it was taking soooooo long for my approval. The office manager Carmen proceeded to talk over me constantly even after I asked her to stop talking over me and let me talk for one minute. I finally hung up on her after her yelling at me for 4 minutes. Then I get the call from I believe was Veronica or Vanessa. She was even worse....In between those two phone calls, I made the best decision in my life...I changed pain doctors....I will suffer in pain longer to wait for someone else who hopeful can run a respectable professional business. First off. I tried calling for an appointment after being referred by my Dr. The message says they'll get back to you in 24-48 hours. It took me 2 weeks to finally tell the person transferring me to that answering machine that no one was calling me back. I got my appointment for 3 weeks out. Then when I finally got in (after filling out massive amount of paperwork) She left me waiting 2 freaking hours! Then, I found out after paying my $50.00 co-pay for the "Specialist" that I needed a shot in my neck. No Kidding?! THAT'S what the appointment was for?! I paid $50.00 to squeeze her finger.
