Ducked in to try the tasty Jamaican Food and it was outstanding, here's why: * Abundant parking (free) * Fast service, Des handled business * Delicious food priced right * Big portions I ate: * 4 Wing Sampler * Mac-N-Cheese was OUTSTANDING * 3 Meat Platter with Salmon, Lamb Chops, Spicy Shrimp * Fresh Squeezed Juice This is delicious, hearty, authentic Jamaican food, cooked by head chef Tafari and he does a GREAT job. I wanted Ox Tail (heard it is amazing) but they ran out before I got there, so be advised, some menu items are VERY popular. Met some friendly regulars there, too. Extra points for having such cool repeat customers. See you there, Cabeza OUT!

Decided to check this place out based on the positive reviews on both Yelp and Google. The restaurant is located in a strip mall with a parking lot that has ample parking. There are a few high tables and bench seating. The restaurant was empty when we arrived however we did see a few people come in and pick up takeout orders. The gentleman who took our order, also worked the register. He was very nice and accommodating. We ordered the Hot Honey Chicken, 10 piece wings w/jerk sauce, mac & cheese, and the bang bang shrimp platter w/sweet plantains and sauteed vegetables. Everything was very tasty. The mac and cheese was a little sweet which other reviewers noted in their Yelp reviews. It was different but it was good. The wait for our order was long, also noted in others reviews. My recommendation is to order takeout because of the long wait. Also the restroom wasn't in the best condition. I didn't visit it until I was done eating or I would have reconsidered my patronage.

My party and I went on a weekday and arrived right when it opened. The restaurant was decorated nicely and clean. The music was loud when we got there but we asked them to turn it down (we were the only ones in the restaurant) and they did. We ordered the five honey hot wings with fries and fried green plantains, bang bang salmon sandwich with fries and escovitch fish with rice and sweet plantains. The presentation of the dish for all of the meals ordered looked nice. The service did not take long. The salmon sandwich was very good, the fries were cold and no salt for both dishes it was served with. We informed the gentleman behind the counter but nothing was done about it. The chicken wings was ok - saucy - the escovitch fish was ok as well. I would give this place a 3.5.

Amazing place I love the presentation. I came here on a Sunday around noon the food was well season. And cooked to perfection costumer service was very welcoming. They also had a live Dj playing reggae music.nice vibes I also got there natural juice, which consist of "cucumber and green apple with the perfect hint of ginger". Definitely will be back.

Let just say the brunch be brunching... of course social media led me here. It's a small place that has brunch on Sundays with a live dj. The selection is more so Caribbean food. The woman at the counter was so nice and helpful. Any questions I had she had detailed answers and I really liked that. I ended up placing to go orders for me and my mom. So I ordered the chicken and waffles, the chicken was fried to perfection and the waffle was fluffy and good. I also ordered a side of ackee and saltfish. This had to be the best I've ever had in the states. I really enjoyed everything I bought. I also ended up ordering one of their in house drinks a raspberry and mango I guess lemonade. Very refreshing!!! I can definitely say I'm running this meal back immediately.

Randomly looking for something to eat & decided to check this place out. A lot of reviews stated the wait would be long. But on a Thursday afternoon (1pm) we were the only people there. Not a big deal. The guys there were welcoming. Inside is a bit small, but they had plenty of seating. They also had 2 tables outside. The guys that were there were welcoming & always checked on us! - Food was amazing! Flavorful, Colorful & Presentable. Photos and descriptions dont do the food justice! Definitely my new favorite Caribbean spot in the area!

This place is for sure a hidden gem. The food is so yummy. The service is also pretty good. There is a small area to dine in or outside. However, we also order ahead to pick up. My favorite is the salmon salad. My goal is to try other items on the menu.

Came here for the first time on my birthday for lunch and i had the shrimp pasta { bang bang fried shrimp } pasta and it was kinda good I've had better but it was ok . The restaurant is pretty small kinda a hiding gem but more of a to go place to get food . The food was cooked to order a nice size amount to possible share if your not to greedy like me lol any who i give the pasta a 5/10 it came with about 10 big shrimps which kinda tasted like it was cooked in the fried chicken oil but it was good , I'm not sure why the died tomatoes but it was to many of them sprinkled on the pasta and it seemed to be very cheese i wished it had more bang bang sauce on the pasta since that's what it's called I'll probably try this place again but with fried chicken pasta

The location is not in the best neighborhood, and by looks of their front door (iron bars), it very well might be an unsafe area. The restaurant inside is clean, I'll give them that. Tables and floors were well kept and wiped down after guests left. There were a couple ladies behind the counter who were friendly and gave us some time to review the menu. Jason and I both ordered the same thing, goat curry (curry goat) with rice and peas and it came side a small side of steamed cabbage and a few sweet plantains as well. We took our food to go and all the way home it smelled go good! Immediately when I opened the container I knew right away, it was going to be a hit or miss (for me). The color or the goat was very yellow, which means, this curry was more turmeric than actual curry power. Being from the Caribbean, you know the difference between the 2 things.... Nevertheless, we ate, and we both liked the food, it was not something that I felt like I could not stop eating, nor thought 'wow I can't wait to go back'. The meat of the goat was tender for sure. The flavors that I'm familiar with, were not there. And I understand that this might be the restaurant's way of cooking, and their style, and that's totally ok, it's just for me this was not one of my favorite Jamaican spots.

Everything tasted great. The chicken was crispy, the rice and peas were well seasoned, and the oxtail gravy brought everything together perfectly. The plantains were a standout, sweet like candy and cooked just right. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. However, the ambiance felt more like a hole in the wall spot rather than a polished dining environment. That being said, the quality and flavor of the food definitely make up for it. Overall, it's a great place to grab authentic, delicious Jamaican food, and I'd definitely come back again.

At the time, I was…read moreeager to try the local restaurants and find a spot that could be one of my "regular" places. The first few times I visited Chelly's there was always a pretty decent sized line (a mark of a good restaurant usually). I'm no stranger to island food, but I also don't know many of the dishes all too well so I always have questions. The first few times I came I met Chelly, the owner of the establishment. She was warm and welcoming and took time to explain what everything was even knowing that there was a line to get her delicious food. I ordered the chicken curry as my first choice with rice and peas, cabbage, and a Jamaican beef patty. The food was OUTSTANDING! Flavorful, fresh, full of character and the portions are BIG so it's a great value. They had earned my business from day one and since then I had been coming back on and off when I was craving Jamaican food. Fast forward to today, I'm still a loyal customer and I want to say...this is the friendliest, most welcoming restaurant I have ever been to. Sam usually takes care of me and always greets me when I come in, she's personable, and loved getting to know the clientele to the point where she remembers conversations you shared and will ask you "hey how's _____ going?" I really love the welcoming atmosphere. The thing is, it's not just her.....her husband Matthew, is the same way! He's super nice, super welcoming, takes the time to explain the food, gives samples, even sometimes hooks me up with a little extra on the house. It doesn't stop there though....Viannie is also just as nice, friendly, welcoming and enjoyable to be served by. The whole establishment is bursting with personality and friendly attitudes. THIS is something I highly value and has seemingly become lost in this post-pandemic world. Not at Chelly's, they take pride in not only serving up delicious food full of flavor and soul, but also serving it up with a smile and attitude that warrants becoming a regular. If you haven't dined here, or aren't sure about dining here....drop what you're doing and give this place a try. Also worth mentioning, their lunch special deal for 6.99 is a TREMENDOUS value given the size of the portions and the freshness of the food. Small businesses such as Chelly's need your support. We are living in a capitalist world and big name businesses are running small businesses out. Don't let that happen, support your local establishments and family owned businesses. Chelly's has earned my business for life and they should earn yours too.

We arrived around 11 PM on a Friday and the place had great energy. It was lively without feeling overwhelming, and a few tables looked like they were celebrating special occasions, which added to the vibe. The music was excellent and honestly brought back a bit of that nostalgic, high school party feel in the best way. We ordered a couple of drinks and they were definitely strong and well made. The service stood out just as much as the atmosphere. The owner was incredibly pleasant and attentive, checking in with us several times to make sure we were taken care of. You could tell she genuinely cared about the guests. I also learned the owners are Trini and Guyanese, which I loved because it added a nice personal touch to the experience. As a first time visitor, I really appreciated that she thanked us for coming when we left. It made the experience feel welcoming and personal. I'll definitely be back to try the food. As a vegetarian, I'm hoping to make a special request since there aren't many Chinese vegetarian options on the menu, but I'm confident they'll accommodate it. We left after 1 AM and people were still coming in, so it's clearly a popular late night spot. Great location right off University with plenty of parking, which makes it super convenient. Located in the Coral Springs Plaza, Priya's Roti Shop has the look and feel of a true West Indian shop serving homemade Trinidadian foods such as various curry or stew meats, cook to order roti (paratha or dhalpourie), phoulourie, bake & shark, doubles, and so much more. There's also homemade sweets & beverages, as well as various bottles of hot pepper sauce, spices, split channa, kuchela, and other Caribbean beverages. I was greeted by a gentleman with a nice Trinidadian accent. I kindly asked for a menu while he tended to the other customers. The prices range from low to moderate. Lord I wish I could get a bit of everything off the menu, but I will just stick to what I mainly wanted - roti. When the gentleman was ready to take my order, I told him I wanted boneless curry chicken which was served with my choice of dhalpourie roti and curry potato. I also ordered six doubles and a bottle of mauby. There was a bit of a wait cause the roti had to be made, which I didn't mind at all. Then he made the doubles. I watched him as he laid down two bara (flatbread) then scooped some curried channa (chick peas) on each, topping them with tamarind and cucumber chutney. Once the food was ready, I took everything to an available table and your girl was in foodie heaven. I started with one of the doubles which was absolutely delicious! The flavors of the curried channa and both chutneys complemented each other nicely, and the barra had a yummy texture...moving on...the curry chicken and potato was also delicious and flavorful with a mild pepper kick. At times I broke pieces of the roti to pick up some chicken and/or potato like a true islander. The atmosphere was truly relaxing with Indian music softly playing in the background. I was casually drinking the mauby which was lightly sweet and refreshing. I am definitely looking forward on coming back to try other foods, especially the bake & shark.
