Excellent coffee spot, friendly and helpful. They have their own roasted beans to drink, but also to buy and enjoy at home. This is the spot I hit up after landing at MSY and heading to Gulfport MS. It give me a little break and a cup of coffee with some pastry at times. Located in a characteristic part of Slidell LA.

We stopped by here twice while in Slidell, both times the employees were outgoing and kind - and the coffee was spot on!

Visiting this charming coffee shop was a pleasant experience. I love plants and coffee shops so having both in one place was a win! Sipping chai tea while breathing in clean plant air, made me feel like I was doing something good for myself. There were a few separate seating areas. I liked how they were set up so that each party can feel some sense of privacy. It smelled fragrant. There was incense burning, but not enough to aggravate my allergies personally. That's a plus. There were lite bites but I didn't try any. There was a small outdoor seating area with a few chairs, but mostly indoor seating. The music playing was nice. Overall, it's a vibe!

Decided to meet a friend here for lunch. Love the vibe from the time I entered. It was very cute, quaint and comfy feel. The customer service was very welcoming. I love seeing all the plants and was thinking of buying a few . Maybe next time . I had a turkey with avocado sandwich and my friend had the avocado toast. Both were good . We had coffees can't remember the names of them. I love the variety of coffees to select . Overall cute spot, free parking and great vibes.

While visiting the area I wanted to patronize a coffee shop. After doing a little research on Yelp- this one seemed promising. Roots is located in the cutest area of town. I love the vibe of the block. They offer parking in front of the shop as well as across the street. When you walk up you immediately get a happy feeling. The umbrella art installation in the street, the cute tables outside , the plants just take you to a happy place. The inside decor does not disappoint. It gives off vintage vibes with a flare! The couch, the floor model TV, even the trunk decor takes me back to childhood! They have a few dinning options inside as well as the outside tables noted earlier. Durring my first visit I had a drink and the avocado toast. I was not crazy about the toast. As such, the second time I stopped by I only ordered a coffee drink. The drink names are so cute! Some examples include, Birds of Paradise, The Prince, and The Bee Hive! I loved the flavor of the drinks I tried. If you are in the area, I suggest checking out this coffee shop for the coffee. It's a great place to just relax and sip your daily coffee.

my absolute favorite coffee shop i have visited, ever. I am someone who travels and makes sure to try a local coffee shop in every town I visit. In this past week, I have been in Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, and Louisiana, and tried shops in every city I was in. I have also been a barista for 6 years prior to my current job, so I know coffee. Maybe I am biased because I am lactose intolerant and oatmilk is preference with coffee, but I was DELIGHTED by the drinks all being made with oatmilk. And oatmilk cold foam?? oatmilk whip??? OBSESSED. I didn't have to stress about accidentally being given dairy. And there are plants everywhere, there are books, it smells beautiful, the baristas are kind, the vibe is refreshing. I will visit here everytime I am in Slidell in the future. Oh yeah, and it's black-owned!!!

Walking into the door....i immediately felt less stressed! Everywhere I looked, I saw things perfectly placed. I was excited before I ordered my coffee. The coffee and the service were amazing. Something about this place seemed to offer healing and I will definitely be returning often. Thank you

This is hard for me because this is a family owned business, and they were so friendly and welcoming. I'm doing this with the hopes of helping this business reach 5 star coffee! When I try to pinpoint what could be better with the coffee, I'd start with the quality of water used when making the latte, the latte has a hint of a burnt taste to it. Reverse osmosis water would be helpful. The plants were beautiful and the shop had an incredible vibe. The family is very nice and hardworking. This shop has major potential to be great

I LOVE Roots!!! The staff is lovely; super kind and welcoming. The ambiance and atmosphere of the place is incredible. The food is great (highly recommend the avocado toast or the veggie sandwich) and every latte I've tried from their menu is phenomenal. I come here whenever I can! Definitely the best coffee shop I've ever been to, and I visit a lot of cafes!

Black owned coffee shop! This place was very aesthetically pleasing! I created content at this coffee shop for my TikTok and it is receiving good feedback. Service was really good they gave recommendations. Bathroom was clean! Music was good and a vibe!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. My mom lives in Slidell and when I visit her, it's a must have! It's had this place 4 times in 5 days because this tasty, local black owned shop deserves it! The coffee is a bit expensive (between $9-$10) but...so worth it!

Coffee was excellent, atmosphere great, employees friendly, and plenty of seating with tables wide enough to spread out on and work a bit.

To me, this is the BEST nursery in Slidell hands down, and I'll tell you why…read more It's not because they have the biggest and most diverse selection of plants. They often don't, really. But that's because their space is limited, I think. They do often have a very good selection of different species, though, that's for sure. The reason they're the best is because of the amount of care and attention they put into those plants. The reason they're the best is because the lady and her daughter that work there will go out of their way to answer any question you might have about anything they sell and they are very well educated on the plants they sell. In fact, they won't just answer your questions, they'll educate you on those plants as well. And they'll do it very nicely and you will feel as though actually learned something while you were there. They LOVE gardening and caring for plants and it shows. The nursery is located on a residential lot and the whole place just seems like a homeowner's dream garden. I imagine that's exactly what they were aiming for. ;) There is a mighty oak at the entrance and I really wish they sold the kind of tree people faces that she has on it, but she told me it was quite old and can't get them anymore. I haven't needed anything for my garden in a couple years because many of my plants just keep coming back, but when I do require something I will always stop here FIRST. If they don't have it, they will tell you when/if they expect to get what you need and you can come back and be assured that you will be getting the best specimens and that they were handled with care before you bought them. When you walk in, you'll find one of these nice ladies either working with a customer or caring for the plants. Never just sitting around twiddling their thumbs. Always helping out or doing something around the nursery. They will help you with whatever you need. Specific questions, general care of any plant, even if they don't sell it, and they're even nice enough to give advice to you on gardening care at home or about trees or plants that you already have. What I'm trying to say here is, their customer service is top notch and goes above and beyond what you'd expect from a business because caring for plants isn't just their business, it's obviously a hobby and a labor of love for them and that is why you need to start HERE when you need something for your garden.

This review applies to a gentlemen/owner at Banting's. Nowadays it is a rare occurrence (especially…read morehere), I broke down in front of a LaCombe car repair shop that I've been using for 25 years. I was literally stuck there with no way to get home. This repair shop has serviced many of my vehicles over the years and all he could offer me was for me was for me to call a taxi. His mechanic suggested was for me to call Uber. I've never used Uber and in my 40 years of living here never needed to use a taxi. They obviously could care less about me, an old reliable customer who's probably had more then 20 grand work there over the years, plus my new breakdown fix another $1,000+ added to my list of dozens of service needs there over the years. It also happened to be the beginning of Veteran's Day weekend. Which is a somber time and depressing time when I remember my lost buddies in almost 50 years and while serving in country. Now about the rare gentlemen from Banting's Nursery, and his nice big Ford truck with newly mounted new skins. He happened to be sitting there waiting for service and watching me being ignored stuck at the counter for long awhile and desperate for help. Up pop's my knight in shining armor, who offered to take me home. I'm a Viet Vet in declining health and this Godsend did the right thing and offered to take me home. I've been in and out of the VA and 2 St Tammany hospitals 5 times this year (2017). I've helped people in need my whole life, much more then giving one a lift. So, I was deeply hurt but i remembered where live and the selfishness I saw from many people in the aftermath of Katrina and many times over the years. After Katrina most local contractors who do home repairs, such as, well service, masonry work, etc, jacked-up their prices because people were desperate for repairs. After Katrina, when I was in better health, I made 2 trips to Iowa pulling my trailer and Bobcat with my F-350 to help anyone there needing clean-up after their terrible floods that destroyed thousands of homes. The folks there are totally different then here, they actually care about each other and would gladly give a stranger the shirt off their back. I'm not a Saint but I truly believe that I'm my 'brother's keeper' and to 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you', and in that spirit a small but meaningful gesture of kindness from a stranger fulfilled both of those cornerstones of humanity. So on one hand the people that has made plenty of money off me over the years could care less that I was stuck at their shop at the end of their work day and my wife across the lake! The gentlemen from Banting's Nursery who saw my angst, sprang into action and took me home! Kudos! Sorry, this post is way too wordy and probably off-topic for a Yelp post! Regardless, thank-you dearly for caring about a perfect stranger, it meant a lot to me that you cared!

Monrovia could visit this nursery on a Saturday in April for a lovely Louisiana spring day.

Look, i'm not real big on leaving reviews for coffee shops. A lot of them are just parts of chains,…read moreand they very inequality from location to location. Well, in the case of this particular coffee shop on Robert Street in Slidell, they were so good it's worthy of mentioning. It's Sirincci Coffee Company, a small chain of boutique coffee shops. My gf and I stopped in randomly while doing an errand on the Northshore (we live in New Orleans about 35 miles away) with no experience or expectations. Even if I had had expectations, they would've blown them away anyway. First, I guess I'll talk about the drinks. Sirincci offers a seasonal specials menu, and it's criminally good. Terrible and guilt inducing in all the best ways. We both ordered from the Fall menu. She had the Cool Front Latte-caramel and cinnamon latte topped with brown butter toffee cheesecake cold foam (yes, you read that right). I had the Pecan Pie Chai-praline chai with rich brown butter toffee. My gf is gluten intolerant, and the barista verified the cheesecake topping was gluten free...whew. Both drinks were prepared quickly but tasted like they had spent hours on them. I rarely use the term "mouthwatering" for beverages, but these qualified. I included a pic of their current fall menu to drool over. Beyond the perfect drinks, the service matched the quality. Our barista taking our order was so patient as we peppered her with questions about their menu, and made great recommendations. The atmosphere in the cafe is super homey and even family friendly. There were a variety of board games and kid friendly seating. I watched a happy little girl getting mercilessly schooled in UNO (reverse, reverse, reverse, take four!), and a father and son playing Battleship. I'm not big on kid-friendly places, but the atmosphere managed to stay quiet and comfortable. We sipped (gulped) our drinks while sitting in a comfy loveseat taking in the place. There are some truly unique Knick Knacks displayed and for sale, including hilarious stickers available at the counter (one pictured). But I've saved the best for last! For those of you not familiar with Sirincci, they have an "Angel program" where you can pre purchase drinks to gift future customers! There is a display on the wall with tags clipped to it with the names of various drinks people have gifted, available to take and redeem by ANYBODY! I purchased a few to gift, grateful for the tangible opportunity to show gratitude for my security. That might be the coolest thing I've ever seen at a commercial business. So yes, if you find yourself in Slidell, treat yourself to the most sinful drink you can get without alcohol and a mini-getaway feel.
