They tend to have the largest selection and newest arrivals first, and are really good at stocking all sizes. The store is always neat and the lines well managed; no easy feat in the Eaton Centre. The staff are also great at helping you find sizes, and the fitting room is staffed and clean. They're consistently on the ball, and that keeps me coming back!

I came on a Saturday and it was super busy. I had to wait at least 30 mins before someone came up to me to assist. I was looking for mini her bag. However, it brought back a bunch of memories when I had a bit of time to kill a few Saturdays ago before attending a concert at Massey Hall. I was in grade 8 when I bought two items at Roots. One was a cheerful green sweatshirt with a small Roots logo with the beaver on the front. The other was a lilac t-shirt. It was long, with the Roots Athletic logo on the front. I didn't wear huge logos on my clothing until I got this t-shirt. It was quite the shift. I dropped by this Roots store to check it out. It looks small from the storefront. However, when you walk in, you realize that it has three floors. There is even an elevator to get to to the floor that you want, if you need it. Otherwise, there are stairs. Perhaps reminiscing about beavers was on my mind, but I felt that everything that I picked up at first was beaver-related. I loved the beaver slippers. They felt nice and cozy. I wondered about washing them and whether it would ruin that soft feeling. I then picked up a beaver plushie. It was wearing the cutest Roots hoodie. I've never owned a Roots hoodie. Should I? I have always been a fan of the mitts here. I found a pair that were made of recycled materials. They were cool. I may need to return and get them. To this day, I still have two leather items that have endured over the years. The first is a small black purse that I had all through high school, into university. I haven't used it since, but it still looks great. The other is a brown backpack that I have travelled with between Toronto and Winnipeg. I also don't use it, but it still looks good. The leather has weathered well over time. It was nice stepping into a Roots store. I typically hit outlet stores these days, but it was nice to browse and throw me back to being a Roots fan from years past. It offers classic items, which suit my style. The new location is a stone's throw away from the older spot. It's airy and bright for sure and even had a patio thrown in to enjoy the summer days. There is a pop-up food and drinks stall as well not sure what the long term plan is for this though. However I felt that space being smaller feels like they have less inventory on display here. A friend who's an advent shopper here noticed it immediately and commented that a lot less on display. Maybe it's because they had just opened up and the setup isn't complete yet. What will hopefully stay the same is the good service (I noticed it at times) that has sustained then for years. When one can shop globally what sets a business like apart IMO is the service and personalized touch. They have promos and sales that make them competitive value wise I have noticed. All of the staff were really helpful on this shopping experience. I wanted to try on my new threads so they helped me with a change room, then helped me unlock the changeroom when I accidentally locked myself out. They also weren't pushy which made for a comfortable shopping experience.

Canada is always a week ahead when releasing new stuff compared to the US. So, I had to get these cute pants. During the time of my visit, they still had the Olympic shoppers (aka shopping bag) which we don't have in the US so, I asked for a couple extra shoppers and they were kind enough to give them to me. I use them as laundry bags when I travel. They're good quality shoppers so you can use and reuse them for anything. The South Asian gentleman behind the counter was helpful and super friendly. And I don't appreciate small talk because it's fake. But he was personable and we ended up chatting about the Winter Olympic merch and Summer Olympic merch, I'm from Vegas and he's visiting/ has visited Vegas. He knew the products really well and he knew that certain pant styles run smaller than say Align pants. I feel like in the US lululemon stores, we don't have customer service this good anymore.
