I had work done about six months ago, all of a sudden I get a phone call from the front office staff that $500 is missing from when the insurance approved the treatment, come to find out they lost my check and now they are sticking me with the bill after the fact, I have evidence on my insurance website that they paid out a balance of over $800 to this dental office, yet this dental office seems to believe that they didn't get paid enough. I really want to give this office 5 stars, but since I was not a fan of the dental assistant, I can only give it 4. First and foremost, I wish they would have told me on the phone, when I made the appointment, not to listen to google maps directions. Coming from highway 18, google maps will tell you to make a left on Wika Rd. but this road doesn't exist, there is no road to make a left on, only a right. You have to drive down and make a left on Muni Rd. and follow that back down. I ended up having to call the office for directions on how to get there, as if my anxiety wasn't already high enough, I now have to add being lost and late to the mix. When I called, they told me that happens all the time, well then why don't they just tell you that from the beginning and save everyone the hassle?? Or, better yet, just go into google maps and edit the directions to show that road as none existent? Which I have just done btw, it took all of 2 minutes, you're welcome. The office staff was nice enough, I forgot my referral paperwork, but they were able to get it faxed over. At this point, I'm having a complete panic attack in the front office because of my phobia of dental work, plus getting lost, plus being late, plus forgetting my paperwork. I mean I am sobbing, shaking, and sweating. That's when this dental assistant comes out. Sandra is her name. She immediately sees me and asks me, in a condescending tone, if I'm ok, to which I replied "no". She then basically tries to turn me away, telling me the doctor won't work on me in my "condition". I told her there was nothing I could do about my "condition" and she starts telling me about sedation options, starting with the oral sedation option and then tells me there is also an IV sedation option, she never mentions nitrous. I tell her that my insurance doesn't cover sedation options and she replies, very matter of fact, "No. It doesn't." Knowing the office offers nitrous, because I asked when I made the appointment, and that nitrous is the least expensive sedation to pay for out of pocket, I ask about that as an option. Sandra scoffs at me and asks if I'd ever had nitrous before, to which I replied "yes, multiple times". She then asks how long ago that was, and I said it was a while ago. She then looks me up and down, scoffs again, and says nitrous won't do anything for me. I said I can't afford oral or IV sedation, and even if I could I'd need a driver and I don't have one. She simply replies, saying even if I did have a driver they wouldn't be able to work on me that day anyway because those sedations take time and their schedule is already full (again trying to turn me away and reschedule for a later date). I then asked to speak with the doctor because I wanted his opinion about getting work done that day, especially because I had just finished a round of antibiotics and I didn't want to have to get on them again if the infection comes back before they could see me at a later date. She then has to get one more unnecessary comment in by telling me that since I checked off the box for "fainting spells" on the intake form, if I fainted in their office they were going to call 911. I just said "ok??" and she left. At this point the doctor came in. His name was Dr. Lim, and he was fantastic at every step of this experience. He asked what was going on and I told him I have a lot of anxiety around dental work but that I didn't want to do oral or IV sedation because I didn't want to reschedule the appointment. He asked "what about nitrous?" and I said I asked his dental assistant about that and she told me it wouldn't work on me. He seemed puzzled by that and reassured me it would work fine, so that's what we went with. We was patient and gentle while doing the work. He didn't mind that I brought headphones and a stuffie with me to help with my sensory overload issues. My jaw wasn't even sore and my face wasn't swollen after the work at any point in time. When leaving, they give you a little goody bag with a nutrigrain bar, a bottle of water, some Advil, and a mini Chapstick, which was really appreciated. Overall I'd recommend this place, I just wouldn't recommend Sandra. read more

I've always been terrified of going to the dentist my entire life, but that changed today at Root 66....Everyone put my fears at ease and from start to finish was beyond amazing. I didn't feel any pain at all during the entire process. The Dr was so respectful to the ladies in the office, always asking for a instrument with please or thank you every time. I have HORRIBLE dental anxiety. I will put off any & everything to avoid that chair. I have had not so great experiences elsewhere, so now anytime I have to see the dentist, my blood pressure shoots up along with my anxiety. So if this is you, please know YOU'RE IN THE BEST HANDS HERE! I was referred to Root 66 by the dentist I went to for some pain in a tooth I had previously had a root canal on several years ago. The dentist who referred me here said "I'm either pulling your tooth today, or you can see a specialist, but they'll probably pull it too". I still opted for the specialist and am SO GLAD it was Dr. Halpern. He was so kind from the get-go, my anxiety was through the roof and he put me at ease. He saw no reason for me to lose my tooth, he suggested re-treating it to clean the area (there was slight infection under the root) but he explained every option so well and still left the decision to me. We booked my root canal which was yesterday, and agreed oral sedation would be best due to my anxiety. I went in and they took my vitals (blood pressure was of course crazy due to my anxiety), there was ALWAYS a DA with me at all times and they were sooo sweet, never made me feel bad for my nerves, reassured me the entire time, just talked to me like a person. I hardly even felt like a 'patient'. Dr. Halpern came in right after they gave me the oral sedation and just wanted to say hi in case I ended up falling asleep once it kicked in lol they waited until my vitals were good before they started anything and the ONLY pain I felt the whole time was brief from the needle when they did the shots. Even that wasn't bad. Dr. Halpern is not only gentle handed, he's just gentle natured. I have never felt so safe at a dental office. His entire staff is SO sweet, I unfortunately only remember one of the names of the DA's who stayed with me- Rachel- but both were incredible. Everyone from the front desk to the back is amazing. I'm glad they're absolute professionals at Endo,but I'm a little sad they can't be my primary dentist! Lol You will not regret seeing them, I definitely don't. I can't thank them enough. read more

This was my first experience with a root canal.. (actually needed 2, side by side). I am very anxious about all dental work. The Apple Valley staff was beyond fantastic, so nice, professional & patient, completely understood my concern about my up coming procedure. The anxious anticipation of my fear lead me to use Nitrous Oxide which really did wonders for my nerves. They even took me in the following Tues with no app for file down the temporary tooth the Dr. had built up, it seemed too rough in my mouth after a few days making a sore on my tongue. This team of expert dental care is the best! I had an infection in a three year old root canal and they found it, when my regular dentist couldn't, with their state of the art equipment. It took two times in the chair to retreat the infection but they saved the tooth wirhout any bone loss. I am so pleased! Office staff and doctor are quite personable and very professional, I even received a parting gift and well checks the following day to make sure I was doing alright! This was my first visit at the office. I went in for Root Canal treatment (my first time) and I was very nervous. The staff was very friendly, the dentist assistant as well, The doctor himself was friendly and explained the procedure and process. They all made me feel very comfortable and as the procedure was being performed, the doctor was explaining to me the process, so that made me feel at ease. The office was very clean as well. I wish I could say that my experience was good. The staff were all very nice. I had two root canals that needed to be treated. They did both at the same time, which I would never suggest to anyone,now. The assistant set me up with the mouth prop and the block, I stayed there for at least 20 minutes before the Dr came in. It's very hard to swallow with your mouth wide open. Why would they leave me in that position if Dr wasn't ready. Anyways the whole procedure took 3 hours. The last half hour was excruciating. I tried to tell them my jaw was hurting but Dr. wanted to finish and take X-rays, I couldn't bite down, it hurt so bad, I had tears from the pain. When it was over and she took out the mouth prop I couldn't close my mouth, it was locked. She massaged it and it finally closed. I cried in agony, I couldn't help it, it hurt so bad! I'm sure the office people heard me, kinda embarrassing. Dr. Karia got the work done, but he was very aggressive in his work and hit my front teeth with his instruments many times. I believe the pressure he put on my jaw caused it to over extend and cause the jaw to lock. One of the office ladies called the next day to see how I was. I told her what I just wrote, she apologized, I know it's not her fault, It was just a horrible experience. read more

I had a horrible tooth ache for the last month. Went to two different dentists who told me nothing was wrong. Finally went back to my previous regular dentist at Pinkner and they sent me straight to Root 66 for the specialist to look at it. He found the problem first shot and told me I needed a root canal. Just had it done today and I can say Dr. Halpern is absolutely incredible. He is super gentle and extremely fast. I will definitely be requesting this practice for future business if I'm ever in need again. I highly recommend choosing them. I've had 3 different root canals now and I can honestly say this was the best one yet (and if you've had one you know how much they suck haha). And I will add the rest of the staff is also incredible! They are all so friendly and helpful. Very satisfied with my over all experience. Thank you all at Root 66 Endodontics. This dental office does fraud. I went in for a consultation, found out that I was going to be needing surgery and set an app to get the surgery done. Total was going to be in the thousands so they signed me up for a care credit credit card. A few days later I went to another dental office to get a second opinion because I felt this one was a little too pricey. My insurance at the other dentist office ended up covering more than ROOT 66 endo. So I went with this dental office called root 66 and said I wanted to cancel my services with them and they said no problem just come in and sign a form. So the day of my surgery I find out that ROOT 66 endo charged my credit card for the whole surgery (1300) cost as if they did the procedure but did NOT do the services. What they did is completely illegal, to charge your credit card the whole amount of what your surgery would have been the day of the consultation and provide no services. Do not let them think that you have to continue your services when no work was done because Marlene (the manager) will try and convince you that charging your card BEFORE and work is done is okay and get very ride with you when you tell her. read more
