Upon our visit yesterday we found The Bank to be a pleasant, JDW type pub (including very similar club days, etc), and the food we had was well presented, tasty and great value for money. Especially the whole(!) grilled chicken peri-peri style with fries, four onion rings and coleslaw for just £ 9.29, which was rather good indeed. My friend had the chicken wings with the hottest-possible glazing, and hot they certainly were! Everything appeared to be on a higher level than JDW. And again like in a Spoon, there was no music playing, which we greatly appreciated. The Bank keeps a minimum of three cask ales ready and fresh, and there's the whole encyclopedia of alcoholic beverages on offer. The menu is expansive, and obviously this is great value for money food. When I'm back to Nottingham I shall certainly return to The Bank. All four of us felt that way.

It was only 1p more expensive but how is it possible for the till to calculate incorrectly and does it do it often? Is this even legal?

So the main points to get across here are the price, quality and speed of delivery from this one. Price wise I guess it is much the same as elsewhere, with a standard type of large pizza costing somewhere in the region of £12-£13 depending in toppings. Although do keep an eye out for voucher offers posted through your door, I recently received one entitling me to buy on get one free pizza and free extras etc with pizza orders! Quality has always been fine and no complaints from me. It may not be quite like they make them in Italy but they are reliable, standard and you know what to expect. Service has always been good from here even in the peak times over weekends. I only live about 5 minutes away in the car to give you an idea of travel time, and the majority of orders I have placed have all been with my in roughly 20-30 minutes.

Ten minutes later, comes the beer. That needs a fixin. Now, a burger is a kind of sandwich. A sandwich is something you can pick up with one hand and eat while reading a map. I got a cramp in my face trying to get my mouth around this thing. I had to eat this thing with a knife and fork. The bun was superfluous. It was tasty otherwise, though the 'onion rings' in the burger came apart long before they were cooked, leaving streaks of batter within the burger. They're perhaps best left as a side. The chips/fries here are a fail. The nothingness of the skinny fries or the pale not quite crispness of the chunky fries don't leave much of a dilemma. I avoid. As is par for the course in a restaurant that narrowly misses the mark, the service is mostly excellent; the staff is warm and friendly. That is worth the visit. Otherwise, some quality-control is needed.
