PLEASE READ I would rate 0 stars if I could however this establishment should be closed immediately! We looked at the online menu which has no allergen concerns highlighted so my father who is ALLERGIC to shelfish ordered a Spanish omlette which to his understanding of the online menus doesn't contain shelfish. On receiving the meal he had some food and immediately spat it out relising it contained shelfish, and on talking to one of the employees over the phone she was useless and had no clue what to do. It's ok, but I've had better, ordering online is the best thing to do, don't have pork it tastes a bit odd !!!!!

Golden Dragon on Alexandra Road, Swadlincote offer a variety of Chinese, English and Cantonese dishes that are both reasonably priced and very tasty! We usually tend to stick to certain dishes that we know and love although quite a lot of the menu has been covered and there isn't much that I haven't enjoyed. My girlfriend is a big fan of the 'Wandering Dragon' dish which is a mixture of King Prawns, Chicken and Vegetables in a Cantonese style Oyster Sauce. I am particularly fond of the Sweet and Sour Chicken (Cantonese style) dish as the consistency of the chicken is nice and is served with sliced carrots, pineapple and a lovely sweet and sour sauce coating that has a nice texture and isn't too overpowering. The Chow Mein is available in several variations including Beef, Pork, Chicken, Mushroom and even a House special! The set menu's are also good value and well put together so that most people will like almost everything on them. Takeaway deliveries can be ordered between 17:15 - 23:00 and delivery is only £1.00 if you live within a reasonable radius. Despite a previous review advising that some of their dishes contain 'SPAM' I am not quite sure what was meant by this as the meat is actually real cuts and not a processed cheap substitute which other local takeaways use. I would definitely recommend this establishment as an excellent option for really nice food and generously sized portions. the owner is called Liz and unfortunately got scared in a accident .. be polite and don't look upset. she is very friendly and talks to you if go often. friendly service and some of the dishes are really great. good value for money but don't go for the specials like chow mien or fried rice. they are served with a fried egg on top of the dish. and sometimes the meat is spam mixed in. g but the pork and chicken is gorges in this dish. thee reason i said don't try them is simply it got spam in it. they do deliver free over a certain amount. me i normally ring up and collect . i go when I'm visiting my parents who just live up the road from it. read more
