There always seems to be a bit of line waiting both lunchtimes and in the evenings which speaks to their products. Their cod and haddock is always cooked deliciously crispy in batter and the portions of thick chips are crazily generous. Mrs G and I typically visit once most weeks - two pieces of fish and one regular chips - even then between the two of us we only manage to eat half the chips!! Why only 4 stars Brian? Well my FAVORITE fish is Rockfish (actually a small shark) - IMO the BEST fried fish on the planet (try it you will love it). It is a rare find in the fisheries sadly - I would likely fight to give them 6 stars if they offered this too

MacDonald's at swad. hmm what can i say. slow service at…read moretimes, food is not that warm when u have to wait in the parking bays. it does not open till 7.30am and then u have to wait about 10 min to get your food after you have ordered it. its situated at Belmont road in swadlincote and nearby shops are dominoes pizza, halfords , lidial, a pet shop as well.

We looked at the online menu which has no allergen concerns highlighted so my father who is ALLERGIC to shelfish ordered a Spanish omlette which to his understanding of the online menus doesn't contain shelfish. On receiving the meal he had some food and immediately spat it out relising it contained shelfish, and on talking to one of the employees over the phone she was useless and had no clue what to do. This is unacceptable!

Menu wise, it is predictably vast with set dinners for 1 to 4 people, in three varieties - economy, Hong Kong Style and Chef's Special Banquet. The food is fresh, full of vegetables, and beautifully cooked. Particular favourites of ours include House Special Chow Mein, the Yung Chow Fried Rice and Wandering Dragon (King Prawns, Chicken, Vegetables, Oyster Sauce and Cantonese Spices). The people that deliver the food are friendly and efficient, and the takeaways always come with complimentary Prawn Crackers!
