Sometimes, it's the little touches that make a real difference you know? This is one reason I like Antalya. I must confess that Turkish / Greek food isn't my favourite type, but I do like it for a change now and again. Once you are seated at Antalya and your drinks order has been taken, warm strips of a flat bread will be brought to your table, alone with dishes of olives and pickled peppers (the ones that look like large chillies, but are not spicy as such). These are free, and you can nibble on them as you decide on your order. There are a wide range of hot and cold starters, with my favourite being a 'mezze' selection...a small plate with around 8 or 10 items on it, e.g. hummous, taramasalata, some kind of bean salad, a meatball, stuffed vine leaf, a 'burek' (sort of a cheese samosa) and some other bits. Want some more free bread to mop things up with? Just ask. Main courses consist of a lot of lamb and chicken dishes, with some fish and vegetarian options too. My recommendation is the Iskendar kebab, a dish containing a mixture of meats in a tomatoey sauce, served over pitta bread. If you have room for dessert, the trolley appears to be well stocked with cakes and traditional Turkish baklava...very sweet pastry affairs, sometimes nutty, and dripping with syrup or honey. Too sweet for my tooth, but each to their own. If you decide not to have a dessert, your meal will still be rounded off by a free shot of a fruit liqueur, usually on offer is banana, cherry, strawberry, and possibly one other. Also, a plate of free fruit is served which is great to cleanse the palate, but also great as a free alternative to dessert, if you didn't fancy one of the heavy offerings from the trolley. The staff are attentive without being overbearing, and they are very friendly. One waiter overheard my brother saying how much he liked the apple tea they served there, and he went into the kitchen and came out with a pack of the stuff for him to take home. I don't know if this is a family run restaurant, but it certainly has that feel. When the bill comes, if you've had a couple of drinks then don't expect any change from a 20 if you had a starter and a main course. I never feel cheated when paying the bill here, as I do feel that the little 'extras' add a lot of value to the dining experience. I can't honestly say it was great as I'd be exaggerating. For Turkish food it was pretty bland and devoid of fragrant spices or herbs. It's pretty obvious these guys are catering for a satisfied English clientele as they've been around for ages but it doesn't match the fresh and fragrant food I'd expect from a good ethnic restaurant. On the positive side, service was good, portions generous and they had a few subtle touches that made me think twice before being too negative about my review. Waited too long to Try We always talked of going Antalya but never quite made it until the other day, what a big mistake. You will find a welcoming atmosphere with very friendly ans attentive staff. There is a comprehensive menu giving you a wide chose depending on what you feel like eating. The food I ordered was a Lamb Casserole which was absolutely delicious and plentiful and a house red that fitted perfectly with the food. Added to this was the complimentary service before and after meal was a nice touch. We will be returning at the first opportunity and would recommend it. Antalya is one of those small under appreciated restaurants that everyone knows about but most never try. It's definitely worth a visit for the seven course set meal and even if you don't enjoy it (which is unlikely) you won't feel ripped off as you get so much for the £20 or so that it costs. Went there with a works party and all I can say is the "regular chef" must have had another night off. Food was rather non descript and not particularly tasty. However price, service and setting was excellent; but a resturant has to have good food above all else. read more

Wonderful Authentic Resturant. Perfect service attentive and just go out of their way. Fresh tasty food. the resturant setting is amazing very ottoman. Dont forget to have a glass of tea or turkish coffee before you leave. read more

The food here is aweful. we were really unsure what some of the meats were. The atomsphere of the restaurant is good and the staff are very helpful, but I wouldn't eat here because the food is rank. Sorry! read more

My wife insisted that I should try Turkish food and I'm so glad she convinced me to eat at Antalya Turkish. I could recommend you to try Ispanak Tarator and Tavuk Güvec - this was what I ate. Something different from Italian, Chinese, Mexican or British is so refreshing! read more

I am a Fan and would go again, BUT, We went four times so far and was disappointed twice. Once was the service the other the food. Generally for Nottinghamshire it is fabulous. Almost authentic Turkish food, which is my favourite of all, served usually fresh. Like I said good chef and good waiter do have the night off and on those nights the deal is off. I just have to find out their schedule and all will be well. read more
