    Ashton Under Lyne

For far too long my home town of Ashton under Lyne has been short of an eatery which offers an…read moreinteresting alternative to the usual British lunchtime food. Then I was lucky enough to be recommended a new café in town called Mozaic, it's an authentic Moroccan establishment with all the food freshly prepared onsite. From my first visit I was instantly welcomed by the owner who is only too happy to let you try any of the exotic looking dishes on offer before you buy. You can certainly tell they are passionate about the food here.... you can taste it in every mouth full. They really know they're stuff and can reassuringly explain the ingredients of their dishes, offer serving suggestions or if you are hungry enough can give you a little taste of everything if you wish. You can take away or eat in, there are only five or six tables if you do choose to eat in so it's rather cosy; however this adds to the charm of the place. The falafel is the best I have ever tasted and if you want something filling and tasty on the go then I would suggest one of their flat bread wraps, which with any 2 side salads for about £3 - is about as excellent value for money as you can get for fresh food. There is a large selection of cold salads as well as hot dishes including vegetarian options, all the dishes I have tried so far I have enjoyed tremendously. Normally this is the kind of place that would outshine most similar establishments in Didsbury, Chorlton and the like which why it's even more exciting that we have something to sparkle on this side of the M60. For those of you who think that excellent cultural culinary delights finish at the End of Wilbraham Road, I implore you to make a visit Mozaic.

I usually get a wrap which includes three sides; the price comes to £4.50 and it's massive. They have a lot of variety on offer, so I really would recommend if you're in the area. I only wish they were perhaps better at marketing themselves so I would have found them earlier - I've walked past thousands of times over the last decade and only just found out them a couple of weeks ago!

A young couple came in to order drinks at a quiet time for the pub in the afternoon. The card machine seemed to not be working and this couple after trying repeatedly to pay for their drinks were told to return their drinks to the bar from outside, as they like most people of their generation were not carrying any cash. I felt acutely embarrassed for them as they were obviously made to feel extremely uncomfortable by the lack of empathy shown both by the serving barmaid and by the manager who was called. The drinks were then disposed of and the couple left, I'm sure never to return. I certainly will not return myself either as this episode of lack of understanding, compassion and downright rudeness on the part of the Orange Tree left such a bitter taste in my mouth.

Her customer service skills were very poor with how she treated us as patrons. She confused out orders and even lied about the drink service. She told me it was regular coke when she obviously served us Diet Coke. My cousin ordered 2 meals and one was to go. She did not put in that order and when we were getting ready to leave proceed to tell us that "It's not like when you are in America and you get to order things to go and rice cannot be taken off the premises" I have never heard of this before in any of the countries I have visited yet alone in the UK. She was rude and unprofessional and the food was equally unimpressive. I would not recommend this place to anyone!

I ordered a birthday meal at 17:36 via Uber Eats, it arrived at 18:17 STONE COLD and with some items undercooked. I initially complained to Uber Eats who blamed the restaurant. I called and spoke to the manager, Charlie, today who pushed back the complaint to Uber Eats. He didn't offer any form of compensation for 2 cold inedible mains and for the undercooked side I would have to come into o the restaurant and spend more money. Nor a sincere apology for a ruined birthday meal. We spent £46 on a cold inedible/unenjoyable meal. I have also had to spend several hours being pushed from pillar to post as no one takes responsibility for fixing the issues. Customer service is non existent. Working as an Event Manager and having been recently venue based in Carnaby Street I can absolutely say I would NEVER leave a repeat customer so unhappy. Word of mouth from unhappy customers is extremely damaging. Previously I would have been happy to recommend this venue but due now primarily to the managers handling of my complaint this will now not be the case. A customer with a ruined birthday is not going to forget quickly. In a cost of living crisis, a customer willing to spend with you should be appreciated.

Both my partner and me went for main courses from the special board - couldn't be any more happy about it. Baked goats cheese as starter and Meatballs tagine and hake fillets with seafood as mains. If you have read my review about that then you will be surprised to read that complete opposite of that review here. I had a chance to go to try this branch, not sure about the quality and service from previous branch... but I was totally in for surprise. What a welcome, beautiful family environment with traditional comfortable seatings. The restaurant doesn't make your cloth stink after you have left the place, this is the main factor I look for a good restaurant. Secondly I like to see how the service is, and this place has lots of good things to talk about. The service is superb compared to previous (original branch experience) experience. I went on Thursday night and the place was quiet but very peaceful. Very clean and family friendly. The price is reasonable for authentic arabian food in my opinion. I went with family so we ordered few different dishes to try out. And they were all yummy as usually arabian food is always yummy. Very healthy as they use a lot of lemon, which is very good for digestion and burning your body fat. They have good parking space on the side road at the back of the restaurant. They have good space to serve good amount of customers. I will fully recommend this place to anyone who would like to try some authentic lebanese food in Birmingham. I am so happy that so many arabian food restaurants are springing up in Birmingham and most of them are superb as they serve authentic arabian food with good standards. So in short, Anyone want good authentic arabian food, Go to BADER Restaurant on Ladypool Road, they are SUPERB.
