We've stayed at the motel in the past with no issues. Recently we had a reservation and arrived early. Check in wasn't available yet, however they gave us a key so when it was we already had access. When arriving that evening the room was extremely hot, AC unit wasn't working properly. No staff on site, which they did notify they leave at 5:00 pm. Called and texted the number provided multiple times with no response. We ended up having to drive into Globe to get a hotel room. I get it things happen, but not receiving a response at all is unacceptable. To top it off, I called the following afternoon for a refund and the guy I spoke with didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. Seemed completely unbothered by my complaint. It's nothing fancy but it is clean and has air conditioning. It's great if you spend the day on the lake and want to have a shower, bed, cool off. We stayed in the one that has a small refrigerator, stove, coffee maker, 2 rooms ( bedroom, living room with tv). That's all we needed! read more

We rented a cabin for two nights and left early after one night. The place is VERY OLD AND RUN down. - The second lock on the door had been ripped off and missing. - The bed had a plastic cover on the mattress that made a lot of noise and prevented sleep. - The room had food under the furniture. - The coffee maker has so much corrosion it took and hour and 15 minutes to make a pot. - Overall it was a terrible experience. I would not recommend staying in Cabin 20. While the resort advertises the cabins as "rustic," there's a big difference between rustic charm and neglect. This cabin was in poor condition and lacked even basic cleanliness and upkeep. There were food drippings down the wall, crumbs in the drawers, and every dish had to be washed before use. Dust covered all the blinds, the curtains were stained, and the bedding had hair in it. We ended up buying our own pillows (which we left behind) because the ones provided were unacceptable. The tile in the middle of the floor was coming up and created a tripping hazard. Blinds were broken, the sinks and shower had been painted over poorly, and the air conditioning couldn't keep up with the heat. We had to buy a fan just to make it somewhat bearable inside. There was no smoke detector, and several windows were missing the pieces needed to keep them closed--letting in bugs and creating a safety issue. The provided outdoor chairs were broken, so we had to purchase our own just to sit outside. The sofa was stained and the chairs inside were also in bad shape. On the positive side, the staff was friendly, the restaurant on-site was good, the views were beautiful, and the area was quiet. The grounds were generally clean, though not well maintained. In short, the location has potential, but this cabin needs serious attention. Calling it "rustic" shouldn't excuse poor cleanliness and maintenance. We were very disappointed and hope the owners make some much-needed improvements. read more

Place is a total dump. I do not believe they ever clean the rooms at all. The people who work there are nice enough. Neighbors are loud and the air outside smells like burning rubber. The shower is miniature and most people won't be able to take a shower in there. There isn't anything else around. read more

The management and staff are great. The restaurant and bar are horrific but supposedly a new team will take that over soon. We stayed in pond house this time. It's roomy but in dire need of improvements. It was not very clean when we checked in either. But the porch was great to sit out and drink and eat on. read more

We rented one of the cabins, that allowed dogs.. The cabin is older, but has a well equiped kitchen, huge yard for walking the dogs and lots of shade trees.. I enjoyed my stay.. Management was great.. read more

Motel rooms are basic which is ok -- big disappointment is no full size refrigerator-- you cater to fishermen and other folks who need a refrigerator/ freezer. You need refrigerators in the motel room ( your competitors have full size refrigerator!!!!!!!) read more

we've stayed in the cabins here once before. The places are very dated, the couch was very uncomfortable. The beds were rather uncomfortable. But, I never expect much from this place. We did get what we were looking for, peace, quiet and a special experience in the desert for new years. The restaurant absolutely sucks though. We were never seated, ended up being seated by a customer and then never received a menu after waiting for 20 minutes and so we just got up and left. Oh well. It's Roosevelt, what can you expect? If you ain't one of the good old boys from the town or the mining community they treat you like you don't matter I guess. Stay here only if you want a quiet and peaceful time away from civilized society. read more

Staff was nice and check-in was easy, which is why they're getting any stars. We stayed in the "house." Every room has an insanely loud window a/c unit and smelled like there was a direct opening to the septic. When I went to bed and threw back the comforter, I found a maggot. Searched the rest of the bed with a fine tooth comb and didn't find anymore, but one is too many maggots in my opinion. read more

My family had a great stay. The room was comfortable & clean. The beds were comfortable and smelled fresh. The bath is a little small but clean and the towels fresh. It's a one pouch coffee maker but the restaurant next door has large cups. Clean small refrigerator no freezer you will need ice. Small microwave just tv dinner size. The room is also stocked with shampoo, soap. The restaurant next door has a good size menu. we only had breakfast and that was good. We will stay here again forsure. read more

We enjoyed our stay, we had a slight issue with the toilet backing up leading to a trench on the side of the cabin but they were able to get the plumbing working the same day. They are pet friendly and the will sometimes have karaoke and other entertainment in the restaurant/bar area. It is definitely on the older side and could use some money pumped into it but, it beats tenting it when the weather is hot or cold. read more

This was a nice peaceful park off the main stream and very quiet. We loved that there were two doors! The sliding doors has a nice view of the pond. The insides are a little outdated but was very clean! We wished the restaurant would have been open but we understand since we were visiting during the lower volume season (June....too hot I hear). Where to start... at check in the person behind the counter didn't acknowledge us upon entering and finished what she was doing (which didn't seem important, filing some papers or something like that) before she turned her face to us and just stared at me as if asking, What do you want? After check in we found the room to be okay. A bit outdated actually. Bathroom was remodeled but the shower head was horrific. The worst part about our stay was the geese and the heater. The heater has no actual thermos it goes from burning hot to freezing cold in that room. The damn geese were so loud throughout the night and they even knocked on the glass sliding door. Came through on a weekday in off season (February) as I cruised the state of Arizona with my sister. We're both retired. The restaurant wasn't open but I knew that. The scenery was beautiful the whole way, we were looking for quite beauty & a warm bed on a cold night. We arrived early evening to a very nice warm clean bed & room. I want to leave an awesome review for the staff. Every person we came in contact with was friendly and helpful with smiles and nice personalities. We thought there were fire pits at each cabin-but found there was only one at the whole place. We were allowed to move it by our cabin which was great. (We'd packed our own wood.) The band on Saturday night were fantastic as well. The staff get a 5 star. The pond with the geese and ducks were very relaxing and fun to watch and interact with. Geese are usually mean little bastards that I fear-but it's amazing how tame they were. It was obvious they were well cared for and loved here. That was wonderful to see. Our cabins on the other hand were not what we were expecting, although spacious, which was a plus-they are quite dreary and boring. Dated is an understatement. Reminded me of an Old Motel 6 or even a bad Howard Johnson like feel. I was not impressed with them in the slightest. I did not feel like I was in a "cabin" at all. I felt like I was in a cheap motel. "Cabins" get a 1-2 star rating from us. The beds were very basic and I was nervous I'd not sleep well-but actually didn't wake up stiff-thank goodness. Cabin 20's shower was stuck in An upright spray position, and miserable for our friends who stayed in that "cabin". Shower in 21 was awesome. Water pressure was great and stayed hot for a very long time. However paper thin curtains and broken blinds are very unwelcoming. There was a space heater for heat-but it did not warm the place. Thank goodness we packed extra blankets. The price dId not meet the expectations, sadly. I think with some facelifts, and updates the place could be AWESOME, but if you are looking for upper class ambiance you are going to the wrong place. I would have LOVED to have been "WOWED" since Cabin rentals near water are slim pickings in AZ-but I was less than excited.. Too bad because we LOVE Romantic weekend getaways. I'll stick with cabin rentals in Utah and Colorado and chalk AZ up to beautiful scenery. If they are able too improve the ambiance and aesthetics I would be happy to return and try again based on the staff, pond and the location, but until then we chalk it up to an experience we will forever get a good laugh out of. Our attitudes were great and we made fun memories on our geocaching weekend getaway with our buddies. This was an honest review. Go with an attitude of adventure over ambiance and you will enjoy your time there. Just expect "basic". read more

We enjoyed our stay here but I believe it was too pricey. The "cabin" we had was super small but it looked really clean (I didn't move furniture or look behind it) When I checked I was told our cabin was by the pond so we walked around there looking for it but we could not find it. My husband ran into the maid and she told him it was across the street in the trailer park area. To be honest I was really disappointed about having to stay on that side especially after I was told it was by the pond :( I feel like being secluded over there the room should have been cheaper. It's a small room with 2 beds and a kitchen.. like a studio apartment. My kids did have fun playing on the tire swing so that was the highlight of this place for us. read more

Room was nice. Bed was very nice. Tv great... Bathtub was alittle dirty. No plug to use the tub. Some type of shavings or dirt would come out of tub/shower when water is running. The security lock on door was broken. This is definitely a great hotel for an outdoorsman. read more
