There is a portion where there are not a lot of stores but once you get closer to section 4 there are a lot of nice stores. I don't think I have a need to come back here but I did just want to say this mall has potential compared to some that are completely empty but it's so sad they let the outside get so run down. Some highlights were Cinnabon, Burlington, Aeropostale, famous footwear, finish line and Windsor but there's a lot of other stores listed. A lot of them are outlet stores as well. This mall is also connected to a Walmart and a Marshall's home goods which are accessible with their own entrances.

It was new; a long, single story mall with gleaming hardwood floors, which, back in those days, were rare in a typical mall. The mall opened with a bowling alley, ice skating rink, movie theater, and a huge arcade...the biggest of it's time. Many of these were still under construction when the mall opened, and many attractions never opened. There was also a Carrefour Hypermarket across the way from the mall, which, at the time, was very much like a Walmart Super Center, but on steroids. I now live in Florida, recalling all those memories of the early 90's walking the mall to beat the heat in the summer, and staying warm walking around in the winter months. My last visit in July of 2025 was a bitter sweet when I pulled in the parking lot. The outside was rundown, with scattered trees, and the iconic colored entrances with the big kites, and the huge Franklin Mills signs were gone...replaced by an ugly, modern "Philadelphia Mills" sign in square, almost ghost letters that blended in with the background Facade. Philadelphia Mills? Really??? Why did the owners change the name and appearance of the once iconic entrances? was it really necessary??? Besides the ill willed garbage standing around the entrances, which now took on a more corporate center look, rather than that of the once colorful entrances that surrounded the mall. Inside, the mall took on it's original opening day look. The gleaming hardwood floors and the mixture of artificial and natural light still adorning the gleaming floors, which zig zagged off as far as the eye could see. What caught me the most was the stark memory that came to me Immediately as I walked the mall. The appearance of the of the newly opened mall in 1989 was frighteningly similar to the appearance of the present day mall; that of the vacant stores, and the lack of mall shoppers. Its amazing that a mall with such a promising years ahead of it, succumbed to the end of the mall era, at least for most, giving up its status to the super powers of King of Prussia, and Christiana. I am constantly reminded to this day, at the site where Franklin Mills presently stands at Knights and Woodhaven, of yester year when i was a young kid riding in the back seat of my Daddy's Impala coming home from Phillies, 76ers, Flyers, and Eagles games, and seeing the lights off to the left of the legendary Liberty Bell Race track, and remembering the days of "the lights, and the trumpets." Hopefully, the memories don't die on that site...the days of simpler, happier times.

I love the Willow Grove Mall, it's one of my favorite malls in the area!! (Slightly above Plymouth…read moreMeeting and on par with King of Prussia). There are many things I love. The Willow Grove area, 3 large stories to walk around, the many stores including a Sears Hardware, a Macy's, and a decent sized food court, they even have enough space for a fountain, a giant Christmas tree that spans all 3 stories and a carousel on the third floor! They also have one of the best Cheesecake Factory's I've been to so far, that's a plus too. Another thing I noticed that is worth pointing out is the fact that unlike other malls, the Willow Grove Mall has many stores open and not too many closed down which is great as it adds to the selection of stores to shop at! The parking lot it is in is very large and wraps around the mall, with a 3 storie parking garage and many other stores around the lot. I'm not at the Willow Grove Mall too often (I live 40 minutes away) but when I do go, it's always a enjoyable experience and an awesome occasion!

Walking in my first impression was of an under lit massive cave, rather than the circus like atmosphere of the early years of WGPM (the last time I was there was at least 15-20 years ago). Although Bloomingdale's and Macy's still anchored, Strawbridge's Sears and J.C. Penny were long gone. Several escalators were out of service and an elevator was blocked off for repairs. Just a little depressing, and word on the street is that it had recently been sold to scavenger commercial realtor with a bad reputation for selling off poorly functioning malls in pieces and leaving skeletons behind. At least we were successful at Apple. The watched was quickly adjusted and we found a working escalator to exit the building. While the decline and extinction of malls has been happening for a few decades it it still sad to witness their slow demise. What was once a childhood circus of crowded shoppers and noshers, now are almost empty mammoth structures living on borrowed time. But for Apple, Willow Grove Mall would have been a single star experience. What comes next is up to the imagination of not particularly insightful developers.

We had parked in one of the…read morenearby decks surrounding the mall, so we cut through Fashion District on our way to the venue. It's huge. There's even a skyway that connects two building structures that make-up the mall. You have you're mall standards inside like H&M, but also an Apple store. Despite being an urban mall, it's pretty spacious and - in the winter - good place to duck inside for a break from the cold weather.

There's Sephora, Ulta, H&M for run-of- the- mill mall shopping. There are food court kiosks but they are spread out instead of collected in a good court. There are "print your own tee shirt" spots, some local biz, and a dollar store. A movie theater. A co- working space. City Winery. All under one very large roof. That doesn't make for good browsing, imo. I stop in if there's something I need at one store, then leave. I've never stopped for moisturizer at Ulta and decided to visit Burlington or watch a movie. The Gallery was a place to hang out in its heyday, but Fashion District restricts unaccompanied minors. So it often feels empty and lifeless. But if you need a brick-and-mortar store so you can try on before you buy, they might help.

The hallways were massive, lots of room to walk despite having stall shops in the middle. There were outdoor parking lots all around the mall. I found a spot near the entrance quickly. While walking around, saw a bunch of popular brand stores like Uniqlo, Lego, Tumi, Pandora, Zara, Apple, H&M, Adidas and Swarovski to name a few. Among departmental stores I saw Macy's and Nordstrom. There were bunch of dining spots available too like Season 52, Capital Grille and Eddie V. Though I went to the store for a quick trip, I was still excited to see this giant mall after such a long.

It was cool to visit Cherry Hill Mall after 10 years. This is prob the only proper mall around the…read morearea. It's renovated and modernized. Spacious and bright. They got the basic brands and some high end brands, including fashion, shoes, cosmetics, toys etc. Macy's Nordstrom JC penny are attached to it. Big parking lot. Staff were nice. Going here is a trip down memory lane of Xmases past, of shopping with people no longer with me. I think I shopped here at sometime during the Xmas season near 40 years.
