I was…read moretold I needed a chimney inspection to the tune of $350 and if I purchased the stove from them I would be reimbursed the inspection cost. To me that sounded fair. Upon inspection I was given the full inspection report with pictures and was told I needed major work done on both chimney's with an exorbitant price quote. I was left reeling from it. I went with another company who did a free inspection, and their quote was less than half the cost of Tri State! I do not recommend them at all. Beware of seemingly nice people trying to rip us the consumer off. The quote was totally out of the ball park for work needed to be done. Highway robbery for the cost of the inspection. Shame on me for not doing my homework. Most other companies offer a free inspection.

Showed up right on time. Their system sent notifications letting me know when they were on their way and estimate arrival time. They surveyed, and immediately quoted the work. They did not try to overall sell me they understood the situation. Fixed some cracking in the mortar on top of the Chimney, as noted by inspector and installed new Chimney cap. Everything done in a few hours. Also they are providing an invoice with pictures so I have documentation of what was done.

We contact various places and Magic Touch got back to us right away and had someone out within 24 hours to cut the existing countertop, and polished it to a professional shine on site. They helped us faster than anyone else we had reached out to, the other places haven't even returned our calls yet. The counter job is completed better than we expected, and making sure that everyone was happy with the final product no matter what it took. We are so happy that they were expedient, skilled in their workmanship, and went above and beyond to make sure we were overly happy with the results. Which they really didn't need to, but speaks volumes of their high level of professionalism and care in their workmanship. This has been one of the best experience with a contractor we have had. The timeline of their negligence: Jan 15th Appointment: The technician replaced our thermostat and told us our 20-year-old stove likely had two more winters left. However, as soon as he lit the stove after the install, it began exhibiting smoke blowback. He told us it was "not a huge concern" and left. Current Issues: Since that "repair," the stove will not stay lit and requires constant resets. We are fully aware the unit is old, but we expected professional service to keep it running safely as promised. Dangerous Advice: When I called on Jan 30th to report the worsening smoke, "Tina" told me to wrap the piping in aluminum heat tape. My research confirmed this is unsafe and NOT a recommended fix for pellet stove piping. Zero Follow-Through: I was promised a callback on Feb 2nd. It never happened. I had to call repeatedly on Feb 6th and 10th to get any response. Hostility: During a 13-minute call on Feb 10th, Tina was aggressive and dismissive. When I told her the stove wasn't depositing ash and required constant resets, she literally asked, "Well, what do you want me to do?" The "Disappearing" Appointment: I paid a $100 deposit for a Feb 20th appointment (8 AM - 9 AM). When I called at 10:16 AM today to see where the tech was, Tina claimed there were "no notes" for our residence and blamed a "system update"--despite having already taken my money. This company is highly unprofessional and dismissive of fire hazards. I am currently waiting 3-5 days for my refund and will be filing a formal complaint with the BBB. I made an appt for an annual cleaning for 2 woodstoves. They did the cleaning, then informed us…read morethat 1 of the stoves wasn't safe to use because of cracks in the tiles lining the flue. They said that both flues needed to be relined because they couldn't do 1 without the other vein collateral damage. Quote was $15,000. For that money, I got a second opinion. There is nothing wrong with the chimney. No relining needs to be done. And the second sweep showed us where the Firesafe person had left debris in the stove and vent. Buyer beware AND ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION.
