Although my husband and I are still trying to decide which company to go with, I want to say how incredibly impressed I am with Ryan at Conejo Services/Local Roofs. First, he arrived within the promised two-hour window. Additionally, he called me, and I received a text message with his approximate arrival time. Then, he explained the services they provide, the warranty, any additional services we requested be completed, and more. When I asked him questions about the process, he didn't make me feel dumb; he explained it in a very easy-to-understand way and definitely helped me understand the roofing process a lot better. After about 20 minutes of measurements and calculations, Ryan was able to email me a quote before he left our property! Unfortunately, this company had one of the highest quotes among the other roofing companies we met with, but I can't emphasize enough how professional and knowledgeable Ryan was. If only their pricing were lower, we'd love to consider working with them.

Since then, the wait time to speak to a customer service rep is long, messages are not returned, and I'm being given different answers to the same question by different people. This small, privately owned company has become a large conglomerate, and the personal service that they once had is gone. Very sad and disappointed that this has happened.

I immediately started to panic--it was Saturday, a major storm was forecasted for the entire week, and all I could think about was the potential damage to our ceiling, carpet, and even the electrical wiring. I remembered a friend recently telling me how happy she was with the professionalism and customer service from Biltwell Roofing, and she had given me the number for Steve, one of the owners. I called right away. The customer service representative said they would try to schedule someone to come out for an emergency visit, and within an hour I received a call from Steve himself. From the moment we spoke, he put me at ease. He listened to my concerns, asked for photos of the leak, and after reviewing them, told me he would send a foreman out immediately to locate and repair the issue. At 11:55 AM, Roberto and Samuel arrived. I showed them the leak inside the house so they had a general idea of where to check on the roof. They STOLE my direct TV satellite! Who does that?? My husband and I have spent 8 hours cleaning and we are still not even close to being done! Though I don't have any leaks, I was concerned about El Niño pending and the fact that my roof was over 25 years old. Creative sent Salvador out to do the free assessment. After inspecting my roof he said that the previous company that had done the roof had done an excellent job with excellent materials. He thought it had 3-5 more years of life. He offered to do some general maintenance and repairs plus clean the gutters for $300. No other company mentioned an alternative. Within a day Jon, the owner of Creative Roofing sent me two bids; one for replacement and one for the repairs. He also included a link to the asphalt tiles they use, which was helpful. They had the lowest replacement bid of the 3 companies. Salvador came out and did the repairs. I was very pleased with all aspects of working with this company.

The quote I got was the best price for the amount of good reviews they had. Jon is very responsive, did not make (too much) fun of my silly questions, and overall great to work with. They were very up front with the cost and what additional costs might be incurred during the job. That is scary to hear, but they did not find too many areas of concern and only had to replace a few pieces. It was communicated and I agreed upon it before they did any additional work or added any cost. They were too nice and did not even ask me to move my vehicles (I did before their scheduled arrival, which they were on time for). They worked tirelessly throughout the day and were respectful of the property. Nothing was damaged and they cleaned before leaving each day. There was a bit of misunderstanding that Salvador did not know he was supposed to do the small section attached to the house as well, but they happily came out again a few days later. This just makes me feel that much more comfortable that they would be responsive if there are any other issues I may encounter in the future. Only time will tell how well it will hold up.
