This is the company that the townhomes we rent from just contracted to replace the roof. This is a severe warning: DO NOT USE THEM!!!! They left the roof incomplete and did not properly nail down and secure the tarp. The recent rain and snow has decimated the townhome - likely tens of hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage. These photos were taken six hours ago and it is so much worse now. The top floor ceiling is caving in (you could stick your hand through it), carpet and pad is soaked, kitchen cabinets destroyed, etc. They said they were going to send someone to re-tarp the roof and they never did. Our townhome is likely ruined - ceiling damage, wall damage, carpet damage, electrical damage, lighting damage, water pouring through the pot lights. And it's not just our apartment, it's all the units on this block.
For those interested in seeing a more extensive overview of the damage (which worsens by the hour) please feel free to check out this video:

Also no one answers their emergency hotline after hours, goes straight to voicemail. Left one (as did my husband) and no one ever called us back.
Update # 1: Someone came over early this morning (11/09) to assess their damage. They said someone will be over later this afternoon to properly tarp. No sense of urgency. Told my husband they'd finish the roof tomorrow and told me they'd finish it Monday. No consistency, no urgency, no real remorse.
Update # 2: Our kitchen this morning spray a leak like a firehouse. This is the ceiling for the floor below the top floor. So this gives you an idea of how much water has leaked into the carpet and subfloor above it and how much structural damage has occurred as a result of this ongoing, unresolved issue. The whole townhome will need to be gutted and taken to its studs and rebuilt. And, again, this is just one of nearly ten units like this with no sense of urgency to resolve this issue.
Update #3: Nearly 24 hours after issue started, workers arrived to try and retarp the roof. Project manager claims it wasn't negligence, which I'm sure explains the frantic nailing down and overlap of the tarps pictured below as well as them sending someone to assess damage and claim they'll do anything to make it right.
Update # 4: Project manager Preston does not return phone calls. Roof source refuses to address issue or provide accommodations. Considers unit liveable even though kitchen is not useable and carpet is gushing water. Amy hung up on my husband when he was trying to ask questions. Very unprofessional. Again, do not use this company.
Update # 5: A week out from these incidents, Roof Source has yet to finish the roof - still awaiting flashing on the flat roof. They are difficult to deal with, rude, and put these five star reviews above humanity. Listen, even the best of companies have lukewarm reviews sometimes, if you see something like these review scores, your Amazon spidey sense should kick in and realize something isn't quite right. My husband tried to get an update yesterday and was told that they still have a business to run and can't deal with all these problems. Problems like tenants being displaced, a subcontractor falling through the roof and dragging asbestos with them, etc. If this company can't get its stuff together, this review is going to be the least of its problems. Maybe they used to actually do the work themselves or hired better subcontractors or had more accountable project managers, but, for whatever reason, this project, ensuing negligence, abdication of responsibility, etc. is indicative not only of serious business model issues but also serious moral issues.
Update # 6: Over two weeks since Roof Source destroyed multiple homes due to negligence, they have still failed to complete the roofing project. read more
