I didn't need a diagnosis, since I told the dentist that my implant was loose. He decided to take a ct scan, charge me for it and charge me for his false "diagnosis." $290 later.. he told me I need a New crown and wanted me to pay $2900 to return for 2 more visits to "fix" it. I Declined his outrageous treatment plan, knowing my implant was just loose. I waited until Monday with no problems and went to my dentist Dr. John Vartanian (Newport Beach) who did the implant for me. He tightened the screw and I was out of there in 10 minutes for free. I believe SoCal Smiles owes me $290 back for their unnecessary scan and incorrect diagnosis. They were trying to sell me something I didn't need and I'm quite upset about how this was handled when I brought it to their attention. I would go elsewhere and not trust this place with your time or money.

From start to finish, the process took about two years and two months, which was so much faster than he initially projected. That came down to how creative he is. We had actual back-and-forth conversations about different ways to get there, his suggestions, and how we could shave time off without compromising the result. He would show me visual previews of the entire progression. If we went one route, here's what it would look like and how long it would take. If we went another route, here's what would change. I could actually see the options, understand his recommendations, and help pick the direction. He kept me involved throughout the whole process. It was literally a one-of-one experience. And the entire staff is out of this world. These guys truly live up to the name Family Orthodontics. It feels like one giant family, and I cannot say enough great things about them. I was so happy with my experience that I recommended my brother. He got braces with Dr. Dean too, and he's having the same amazing experience. Look at the before-and-after pictures. That transformation means so much to me. I'm beyond grateful, and they have my highest recommendation. Thank you, Dr. Dean. You're epic.

They recently did an amazing job with my father's veneers, and we couldn't be happier with the results. One thing I especially appreciate is how smooth and transparent everything is when it comes to billing. I've had billing issues with other dental offices in the past because claims weren't submitted properly, but we've never had those kinds of concerns here. Beyond the quality of their work, everyone at Rafi Dental is warm, caring, and genuinely makes you feel comfortable and taken care of. It's hard to find a dental office where you can trust both the work and the people behind it. We're very happy to have found ours!

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the way your office has handled this matter…read more Despite my repeated calls and messages, your office has still failed to provide me with a simple official copy of my $1,350 credit card payment made on July 9, 2026, for my mother's crown treatment. This is a basic payment record that should have been provided promptly upon request. Your continued failure to provide this documentation has seriously damaged my trust in your office. I initially wanted to trust your doctors and staff and believed that the information I was given regarding my mother's treatment and insurance benefits was accurate. However, I now have serious concerns about the information provided to me by your insurance coordinator regarding my mother's benefits. Based on what I was told, we proceeded with the treatment and paid $1,350 out of pocket. If prior authorization or verification with the insurance company was required before beginning treatment, that should have been clearly explained and handled before we proceeded. Instead, I feel that we were given incorrect information and were left responsible for a substantial out-of-pocket payment. What makes this even more concerning is the fact that your office has repeatedly delayed providing the official receipt for that payment. At any professional medical or dental office, a patient should be able to obtain documentation of a payment without repeatedly calling, texting, and following up. This entire experience has been extremely disappointing. The communication from your office has been inconsistent, and I have found the responses from your staff unpleasant and disrespectful. I strongly urge your office to provide me immediately with the complete official receipt/payment record for the $1,350 payment, including the date of payment and a clear description of what the payment was for. After this experience, I cannot recommend your office to others. I expected professionalism, transparency, and accurate information from a dental office entrusted with my mother's care. Unfortunately, that is not what we experienced. This situation has completely undermined my confidence and trust in your office.

After that they did my screening and charged me $300. Told me that was the fee for the flouride and xrays which weren't covered only my usual cleaning. WHICH NOBODY MENTIONED prior to me sitting down in the chair. It would be ideal to maybe run my insurance and mention to me that these xrays to fix the smallest crack on my tooth were not covered? Not only did Dr. Gina beat the other places in price, she is really sweet and understanding. You never feel intimidated asking questions, which I really appreciate since I'm more on the timid side. I ended up getting veneers instead of composite bonding. A lot of places will try to upsell you and have you do 6-8 teeth, but Dr. Gina recommended I only do two teeth since I'm young. She keeps up with modern technology. We did a mock up of the teeth and the veneers are made in a lab. The technology she uses also tells her how much to shave off. My veneers blend seemlessly, not bulky and the color is an exact match. The time I came to try my veneers, I asked for more of a rounded shape, and they sent it back to add more, which I really appreciate. Overall I am highly satisfied and would recommended Dr. Gina for your veneers. Ps: I also got my teeth whitened and did new retainers here. All in one place. :)

If you already paid, be sure to request the OFFICIAL billing statement rather than the Financial Agreement ESTIMATE (if it says "estimated," it is just an ESTIMATE, not what was actually billed). Verify charges with your insurance, especially if you have a PPO. Things to look out for (like with any other predatory dentist): 1. Bait-and-Switch Imaging Costs: Quoting or masking expensive 3D CBCT scans (Code D0367) as a minor $19.90 copay on internal estimates, only for insurance to reject it and stick you with the full $404 retail cash rate. 2. Padding bills with Unapproved Add-Ons : Note that, according to Delta Dental provider guidelines, adjunctive or decontamination techniques (often billed as D4999) cannot be billed separately to patients when performed alongside scaling and root planing (D4341 or D4342), meaning these extra charges should never have been passed to the patient in the first place. https://www1.deltadentalins.com/dentists/fyi-online/2026/scaling-root-planing.html 3. Sliding a Cost Agreement or financial responsibility form AFTER the procedure is already completed -- or stacking them into your exit documents and payment receipts to trick you into signing. (This is why you must always demand an itemized billing receipt before signing any forms at checkout.) 4. Mass Periodontal Disease Diagnosis (based on reviews): routinely diagnosing patients with minor gum issues as aggressive periodontal disease (requiring expensive multi-quadrant scaling and root planning) and refusing a regular cleaning after rejecting deep cleaning. Dr. Henry was able to fix my horrible, botched cosmetic dentistry procedure done by another…read moredentist. He has saved my teeth and given me a perfect, beautiful, and healthy smile. In January 2019, my general dentist convinced me it was time to replace my eight upper veneers, as they were 25 years old. They were perfectly functional but did not look as natural as contemporary veneers. I trusted him, and he said he would do it for a fraction of the cost of a "higher end" cosmetic dentist. I had some reservations but I didn't trust my gut, and let him do it anyway. The nightmare began immediately. He was clearly in way over his head. Long story short, the veneers he placed (8, plus two new ones) didn't look any better than my old ones and they started to pop off right away. Within six months, 7 of the 10 veneers he placed came off multiple times. One came off three times, and one came off in my sleep! I was having constant nightmares about them coming off, and I ate everything, even pizza, with a fork and knife or else I just ate soft food. I hadn't bitten into an apple or anything tough since January because I knew they would come off. He ended up crowning three of the veneers that kept coming off and was going to crown two others but when he crowned a front tooth, it looked and felt awful so I vowed to never let him touch my mouth again. It was truly a nightmare. I started looking for a great cosmetic dentist who could fix this fiasco. Enter Dr. Henry. I chose Dr. Henry upon the recommendation of a friend who is a dental hygienist and knew of his excellent reputation. From my first consultation to the procedure itself, he and his staff made me feel confident and comfortable. It was a TOTALLY different experience from what I'd been through. He is also a professor of cosmetic dentistry, and is not only technically brilliant but also gifted in knowing what looks right aesthetically for each individual patient. I only wish I had gone to him first. If you're in need of dental work, cosmetic or otherwise, don't mess around--go see Dr. Henry. You'll be glad you went to the very best. Update 12/24/24: My teeth are still beautiful 6 years later, and my husband and I have been seeing Dr. Henry for all our dental care ever since. He and his staff are so warm, they are like family.
