Although I was familiar with the Market at Marion, I'd never taken the time to explore it. When I finally discovered Vinyl Explosion last year, I was both thrilled--and a bit irritated--that I hadn't visited sooner. Since that first trip, I've returned more than ten times, and without fail, I always walk out with something special.
The owner, Kurt, is highly knowledgeable about music and greets every customer with genuine enthusiasm. He gives a helpful overview of the layout, points out new arrivals, and is always available to assist with whatever you need. The store is packed with an exceptional variety of vinyl, along with a large selection of CDs, cassettes, posters, and other music-related finds.
Best of all, the pricing is refreshingly fair. While many shops have inflated their prices, Kurt maintains honest, reasonable pricing across the board. The vinyl ranges from very good to mint condition, with the covers in great shape. There's also an enormous $1 section where you can find some old gems.
Vinyl Explosion has quickly become my favorite record store in Florida. Whether you're a casual collector, a seasoned audiophile, or simply someone who appreciates a friendly, well-organized shop filled with great music, this place is absolutely worth the trip.
