There was some kind of backup issue in the past 12 hours and the back end of the place smelled like an outhouse. The area near mens room was blocked off for a private event and I dont even know how those poor people could eat in that area with the smell. On the patio people brought in 2 great dane dogs that were the size of small horses and how is that normal for outside dining anywhere, and people were leaving. Who has to watch dogs shitting by the next table where people are eating? Where are the owners? The same managers walk around clueless. Dont worry, the health dept. will find you out for sure. Good luck.

The fish tacos do not come with any kind of side. They were $15.00 for 3. Not very big. The burger came with fries. Don't recall about the bratwurst. We requested water and when we wanted another round of drinks it took awhile. Server was not in sight to handle request. She was pleasant just not accessible. Food was just ok. Not sure I will go back. At least not for lunch. Restaurant is nice inside. Maybe there is more help on the weekends or evenings.

I met a few friends on a weekday to try out Girl in the Park, a spot they'd been curious about. We…read morewere greeted right away, seated quickly, and handed menus along with the day's specials. The menu is surprisingly broad, with plenty of appealing options. Our server--who was also tending bar--took our drink orders. Soft drinks arrived promptly, and we asked for a few extra minutes to look things over. I considered a burger, but at $25 it felt a bit steep, so we went with a mix of other dishes: Cedar Plank Salmon with Basil Soup, a Keto Cobb Salad with dressing on the side, The Park Reuben with fries, and a Blackened Chicken Panini with fries. Impressively, everything came out in about ten minutes. The Reuben and the Panini were both solid choices, though the fries were only room temperature. The salmon had great flavor, though the rice could have been a bit more cohesive. The Cobb salad hit the mark--fresh, satisfying, and easy to customize with the dressing on the side. Our server checked in regularly and kept our drinks refilled. The crowd was a mix of regulars, retirees, and casual diners, and we found ourselves eyeing other entrées as they passed by. The restaurant also has a great patio that will be perfect once the weather warms up, plus a well‑appointed bar area with plenty of TVs. Winter Olympics highlights were playing during our visit, adding to the relaxed atmosphere. We took a look at the dessert menu, but nothing really grabbed us this time. Even so, we all agreed we'd come back to try more of the menu--there's definitely potential here.

I visited on a Saturday for lunch and had no problem getting a table. The menu had a variety of appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches, and mains. I loved how large of a beer and drink menu they had as well as the fact that their patio is dog friendly! I got the Nana's Meatball Sandwich and loved the flavors! They put the red sauce on the side to add your preferred amount. Any entree to split does add a $1.50 gratuity. Others in our group got The Girl's Signature Truffle Shuffle Burger and The Philly. The flavors were great, sandwich portions were large, but fries could have been crispier. Our server Souzie was incredibly kind, full of energy, and did a great job checking in on us. The items vary in price where some are value driven and some seem to be a premium. Overall, thoroughly impressed by my visit and the food quality. Tip: Check out their daily specials and happy hour to get extra deals!

The Whistle is a great place for watching games or any sports. Maybe just get better food. You can find crap tons to get but it could be too complicated for the chaotic kitchen. Crowded when we got in. It's got a few big ass TVs so you can watch tons of games going on. There's a lot of areas for tables. Along the walls were the more personal ones for couples. There's also a long bar but there was no room there. It has a lot of specials including Teeling Small Batch whiskey shots at $5 on Mondays. There's a crap ton on the menu including tacos. A lot of things to choose from. It's about $11 for the Vegetable Tacos. A great choice among the vegetarian options. These are topped with avocado, cheese but I left it off, lettuce, onions, peppers, and pico de gallo, filling stuff. Great place for hanging and being crazy. It's got another location in Oak Lawn so have fun there too. The service is kind of slow but they're usually slamming so whatever.

I visited this place on Friday, May 1, with a friend who is a frequent customer. Overall, I enjoyed…read morethe atmosphere and was having a good experience until the end of the night. My friend had already told me she would be covering my drinks, so when I was handed a separate $31 bill as I was leaving, I simply asked for clarification. I was not rude, argumentative, or hostile -- I only wanted to understand why I was being charged separately when my friend had been ordering the drinks and also had her own bill. At that point, the bartender/barback, Tim, became extremely aggressive and confrontational. He repeatedly and very loudly slammed his hand on the bar next to where I was standing and yelled at me to leave, saying the bar was closed, even though closing time was still 2 AM. There was absolutely no reason for the interaction to escalate the way it did. As a smaller woman (5'2"), I felt genuinely intimidated by the situation. Tim is a much larger man, and his behavior -- pounding on the bar, yelling, waving his hands, and speaking negatively about me to other customers -- made me feel unsafe and embarrassed in front of the entire bar. I honestly feared the situation might become physical. To be clear, I never refused to pay. I paid immediately once the charge was explained. I did not threaten anyone, become hostile, or cause a scene. I simply stated that there was no reason to treat me that way. Because I felt unsafe, I pulled out my phone and recorded part of the interaction. I do have a video showing him continuing to wave his arms and yell at me to "get out" while I was saying goodbye to my friend, who witnessed the entire incident. What upset me most was not the bill itself, but the level of intimidation and disrespect I experienced over a simple question. The business can review its security footage, as the entire interaction should be on camera. For context, I bartended for 20 years myself, so I fully understand how difficult customers can sometimes be. Even with that experience, I would never treat a patron the way I was treated that night -- especially someone calmly asking about a charge. Based on this experience, I will not be returning. I am hoping management addresses this situation appropriately because behavior like this creates an environment that does not feel safe or welcoming for customers, particularly women. BTW, I did contact their Facebook page and have yet to receive a response.
