I love this store!! Every time I come up to Cloudcroft I…read morestop here and grab something, even if it's just some stickers. They have a great selection of clothes and gear and their prices are fair. The store has a small footprint so things are tight and when it's busy it's a little crazy but they make it work. The staff is awesome, very helpful and always super nice! They also all know the area super well so don't hesitate to ask them about where to go or what to do. They carry all the major brands and some stuff I've not seen in the big stores. They should have any small items you might have forgotten before heading out for a hike or camping trip. The downtown area is pretty small so parking is limited but I usually end up finding something pretty close in front of the store. I definitely recommend stopping in if you're in the area and are an outdoorsy person.

I expressed my concerns and she blamed my parenting and "lack of correction" for her uncalled for reaction-I immediately corrected them by the way and apologized after she unleashed her Karen on them. They say that you can tell who a person is by the way they treat kids and animals and from the look of the reviews she treats both like trash. That says a lot of the type of person who runs this place. Do yourself a favor and go to ruidoso and shop at Happy Hiker. They are so kind and have a super positive vibe there. I'll never support this rude and stuck up shop ever again. Stay clear and beware if you have curious children and apparently dogs!!!

Rainmakers Resort and Club - The chocolate cake. Not! The chocolate brownie, yes. So so, as brownies sometimes are. Worth $15, come on!

We both had to send back our plates because the potatoes were cold. When mine came back the potatoes were warmer but swimming in gravy. I literally had a plate full of gravy. The roast beef was flavorful, but not very tender. And I don't even know if there were sides on the plate because I couldn't see anything under the gravy. The waitress was pleasant but failed to tell us about the specials or the October menu that was already on the table in front of us when we were seated. We both were baffled by the lack of attention to our dining experience which we had been looking forward to all week. I felt like I was eating at Denny's. The food was Denny's quality, there was nothing special about it. And the chocolate cake I ordered was a small brownie in the shape of a pie with homemade whipped cream and some cherry chutney. That was the most expensive brownie I've ever eaten. What a major disappointment the meal was. I doubt I will ever return for a meal, it was just bad from the get go. Like I said, it was basically Denny's at four times the price. Was it worth the price for the view, definitely not! But with just a glass of wine in the afternoon on the patio, absolutley!
