They have a great selection of clothes and gear and their prices are fair. The store has a small footprint so things are tight and when it's busy it's a little crazy but they make it work. The staff is awesome, very helpful and always super nice! They also all know the area super well so don't hesitate to ask them about where to go or what to do. They carry all the major brands and some stuff I've not seen in the big stores. They should have any small items you might have forgotten before heading out for a hike or camping trip. The downtown area is pretty small so parking is limited but I usually end up finding something pretty close in front of the store. I definitely recommend stopping in if you're in the area and are an outdoorsy person.

That says a lot of the type of person who runs this place. Do yourself a favor and go to ruidoso and shop at Happy Hiker. They are so kind and have a super positive vibe there. Followed all directions but when attempting to fire the gun, 5 out of 6 pellets would jam. I don't consider this a safe weapon right from the factory. This should not be sold and the manufacture should be notified. Sportsman's Warehouse carries inferior and therefore dangerous weapons, and they don't care. No, they wouldn't refund or even take it back to be destroyed ...because now I have to deal with Crosman directly. If I am treated this way from the retailer, then I no longer will be a customer of that retailer, Sportsman's Warehouse.

Through the time I was there I wasn't acknowledged by either employee who sat behind the counter- the woman seemed too enthralled in her phone to even offer myself or the other customers any help or to ask if we were looking for something specific. Come checkout time I questioned a pricing discrepancy with the gentleman as the exact same jacket as the one I was purchasing but in a different size was marked over 70 dollars less. I chose to forego the jacket entirely when his attitude was less that of explaining and more so a "tough sh*t" approach.
