Their 99 cents scones are pretty good when heated up (I took mine home and heated in the microwave). I really want to try their bagels!

Good bagels and a nice range of other bits and pieces. A…read morelittle harder than those from the brick lane ones, and you aren't able to get hot fillings it seems but they do make them in house and fresh sandwiches are available from the fridges. Some of the staff can be a bit short, but on the whole they're friendly enough. They've got tables now to make it a little more cafe style but there are some things (mostly beef related) that they don't allow to be eaten in store. Most of their pastries look good and the ones that I've tried are tasty if a little stodgy. Not being close to a tube station, I don't visit that often but if given the chance, they're one of the better bakeries out there.

Excellent bagels! Better than Park Patisserie, not as good as Beigel Bake in Brick Lane which has…read morethe best in London, and which are actually a lot cheaper too. Nice thing about this place is that they have a large variety of pastries and bread, as well as several big coolers with prepared sandwiches, egg salad, cream cheese, etc., and they don't run out of bread in the late afternoon like some bakeries. Wish I could pay with a car for transactions under 10 pounds though. I don't get why that's such a problem everywhere. I mean, ffs, just charge me the extra 20p for the transactions costs or whatever, don't make me waste 15 minutes of my time walking to a nearby ATM.

Heard from a friend that they have the best hot chocolate in this great city... I concur with that…read moreassertion. Rich, semisweet and decadent. A piece of art. On top that they offer quiches, sandwiches, croissants, fancy pastries. A french man contributed enormously to this successful chain bakery which has been around for decades mission of bringing quality food to the public. Paul's mission is to bring the best food to your palate. I ordered a simple tuna sandwich. I was amazed by the freshness of the bread and the tuna. It was a blissful experience. The service is exemplary. The counter attendants were always taking care of theirs customers. Queuing is not a problem as staring at the food keeps your mind wondering. No matter how many negative comments you may find, Paul delivers the goods. Long live Paul!! Keep proliferating!!

I don't care if Paul is a chain, I love it…read more Their coffee frappe is extremely creamy and rich, and much better than a frappucino from Starbucks across the street. My favorite is the macarons though. They have the huge kind, the size of a bloated cookie, and though it's not cheap at more than 2 pounds each, it's delicious and worth it. Everything in their window makes me drool, especially their Frasier cake. It took every ounce of self control to not buy an entire cake for myself. I later bought one of Paul's canvas bags at the Covent Garden location as a souvenir, durable and only a little less than 4 pounds!
