However, the service fellow at the Home Building Centre was familiar with cant strip (although he had to refer me to someone else to have it prepared) and carried a wide selection of bulk screws and nails. As silly as it sounds, without his help with these two items we would not have been able to complete our project. For assistance from a company that truly knows their business I recommend the Home Building Centre in Spruce Grove. And it is still a family owned business, so you can be confident in the fact that you are supporting the local economy.

The quality of paint sold by Home Hardware is poor. Products from Dulux or Cloverdale - even their lower-end offerings - will outlast any product from Home Hardware, and staff will be both more knowledgeable and more helpful.

But that's not the good part of the story. I let them know that I was likely sending a senior citizen Who is not very building supply savvy and they said no problem they would help them out if they showed up and asked for assistance... Well needless to say when my person got there, the customer service person had gone and collected that plate, the backer that needed to go with it, and two other parts that may have been required depending in the type of install (just in case) and had them all in a bag - waiting for if somebody walked up asking for help for that particular item.
