This Ron Jon at key west is situated right off of Duval Street near Mallory Square. The outside is a Key West style two story building that has mostly men's attire on the first floor and women's on the second floor. The sales staff were friendly and welcoming, and offered assistance a couple of times while we shopped. Prices are what you expect in a touristy place like this - nearly $30 for a T-shirt, and they even sell a $108 ukulele if you are so inclined. It's a fun store with a lot of variety. The prices re good. The staff is really nice!

I love Ron Jon. They have great quality clothes and flip flops here. We wanted a waterproof phone protector for jet skiing. My friend was looking for sandals and finally found them here. While we were there the card machines went down, but they held our stuff until we got back from our dinner reservation. I found the cutest mermaid car air fresheners. read more

Before you even walk into this Ron Jon location it just looks so inviting and like you need to at least check it out. It's pretty much your typical Ron Jon- lots of cute clothes and little trinkets and other. And on the second floor, all the beach/ surfing gear you could want or need. Also, keep your eye on the Hydroflask/ Yeti water bottles and stuff they sell because they have some small sale items- when I went we found a few 32oz Hydroflask water bottles on sale so we snatched them real fast- and if you know anything about Hydroflask you know they're expensive because they work really well, so any kind of sale you have to jump on right away. But yeah, it's definitely worth at least popping in this store if you're there! Just be careful of your pocketbook because you will most likely find something to your liking. read more

The location is good for tourists, not great for locals who live here, mainly because of parking and meters. I only spend a very short time in Key West to live in the year, my last visit here was good, but not 5 star great. You sort of expect to spend a lot of money at Ron Jon Surf Shop, it is definitely not the store to take little kids, the employee who helped us was not very friendly and the kids section for clothes was really pricey. My favorite location is their main store in Cocoa Beach, shopping there is a must if you are in that area, they are directly on the Atlantic Ocean and even have a surf camp, much bigger selection on surfboards and apparel. If you are a tourist in the Keys and simply want a t-shirt that says Ron Jon on the front, then this store will be fine, it just depends on what you are looking for. read more

We were in need of a couple long sleeve UPF shirts to keep from burning at the beach, this place got it done. They have both mens and women's long sleeve UPF shirts. A little bit pricey, we paid a total of $80 for 2 shirts (I found similar UPF 50 shirts at Publix for $20 each aka half as much). The store is clean and nice. It sells skateboards and longboards on the second floor which looked really cool. I would visit this store if in Key West. read more

This store has the rudest employees I've ever encountered. Today we came here to buy some clothing. Before we started our shopping spree I asked the lady behind the counter (name tag said assistant manager) if they had a bathroom. She paused for a second and then told me to go upstairs and go to the back. While I was walking upstairs the assistant manger radioed her associate "you got someone coming up to use the public restroom". This was obviously sarcastic and referred to me as only coming in the store to use the restroom. As soon as I walked upstairs I saw the associate. I didn't get her name but she was a white Female in her early 70's. I greeted her and politely asked her where the restroom was. She ignored my greeting and did not respond to it. She steamed off toward the bathroom. I asked her if she was ok and apologized for the inconvenience. She again without even looking at me said "I'm just busy". And walked away. Sadly we decided to continue on our shopping somewhere else due to the absolut disrespectful and rude interaction of Ron Jon staff. It's unfortunate because the store has nice clothing items. I usually spend 600-700 dollars here every year with my family. Rude. Won't shop here ever again. read more

Super friendly and helpful employees here. I am accustomed to the HUGE Cocoa Beah store and the one at Sawgrass Mills Mall. This place is really small and doesn't have much of an inventory (aside from t-shirts and short shorts). Was looking to buy a low deck skateboard and they had sold the *only* one they had. No paddleboards/accessories. This is much more of a tourist shop than a sport specific shop. read more

I'm visiting Key West from Boston, Massachusetts and decides to stop by Ron Jon to buy some shirts to bring back home. The store was very busy (but they respected COVID regulations and everyone had masks on). Selection of surf stuff here is limited (as there's not really a whole lot of surfing on the island). Bf was looking for a few new things (bathing suit and hat), but didn't find what he was looking for. Do not go into this store!!! The service was the rudest I have ever experienced. My family was walking along and came upon the store. Looked nice from the outside and given our connections with Cocoa Beach, Ron Jon has always had good gear and friendly people. I started looking at some GoPro gear given my recent purchase of a GoPro camera. Justin was work the register was doing very little. I ask Justin about some of the gear and got a very smart with me. I ignored the first time. Then my family was looking at other ideas ( hat, shirt) and AGAIN got a very smart a*s answer. I was done. We all put down our items and left. What a complete jerk!!! On vacation a few weeks ago. Had the worst experience during my stay. All the shops I visited Ron jons was the worst. This is a corp operation and it seemed like it was lunch break at high school My family and I went in to get some shirts, board shorts and souveniers. It wasn't very busy but that is no excuse....as soon as we walk in the cashiers are just hanging out at the register with an older gentleman who looked like a manager. We go and do our shopping and my son finds shorts he likes but not his size. After we search the store for an employee we find them still at the register . We ask the cashier......and he says ...I don't know. Yes. that was his answer and that's all that was said????!!! We then look for the person who we thought was manager ...his name was darren . He preceeded to tell us that he doubts he has any...but he doesn't go to look he just try to send us to a different pair?? Then I explain what the cashier said and darren states "well he may have been busy". No he wasn't busy there was no one at the register. I understand they aren't there to cater to my specific needs but let's be honest...they could at least act like they care. Darren attitude was what set the mood for the employees. If he didn't care why would anyone else We left and purchased nothing. Went to several other shops and had a fantastic experience . Some shops were local and others were corporate and had no issues. Sounds like Ron jons is more Interested in the masses of people from the cruise ships then the folks that really come to enjoy key west. Never again will I shop there and I will make sure I let everyone I know who goes there about my experience read more

Ron Jon's is a sleek, body conscious surf-type shop. There are shorts, tops, tiny butt-hugging numbers, sun lotions, sandals -- all the beach items you could want. The shop is on two levels. The staff working in this shop are complete kooks. Obviously there is no surf in Key West but two of the male staff members didn't even seem to know where the good beaches were in there area, making me wonder if they have ever even set foot in the water. Myself and my entire family all surf. I've grown up seeing the Ron Jon surfshop ads in Surfer magazine so I was excited to check one out. I came in on a cruise ship and overheard the two snowflake male staff members bad mouthing "cruise ship people." Way to rip on the people who bring you your bread and butter guys, no tact whatsoever(they actually have a coupon for discounts to their store on the cruise ships). Left two stars because the female staff member was pleasant and helpful and actually knew what a rash guard was. I don't mind that it's a tourist trap but those two staff members need to learn customer service or get another job. You don't badmouth people who probably provide 90% of your sales.
