** - Above and Beyond Customer Service** I had a truly outstanding experience at Ron Jon Surf Shop in Cocoa Beach this Father's Day. I initially came in to purchase a 9-foot board I had my eye on. After deciding to buy it, I stepped out briefly to grab my son so he could help me load it into my truck. When I returned, the board was gone--needless to say, I was extremely disappointed. I spoke with a salesperson named Dave, who explained that the board actually wasn't supposed to be on the sales floor--it had been custom-made for the shop and was pulled by the general manager and placed in an office. Even so, Dave didn't stop there. He took the time to listen to my situation and understand how much this meant to me, especially as it was intended to be my Father's Day gift. Dave went out of his way to help and connected me with the manager, Chip. Chip took things to the next level--he made calls to the general manager and even reached out to corporate to see if anything could be done. After about 45 minutes of effort, he came back with incredible news: they got approval to sell me the board. Neither Dave nor Chip had to go to those lengths, but they did--and that level of customer care is rare. They could have easily said no and moved on, but instead they went out of their way to make my day. As a local, I'll be out riding waves on this board and proudly telling this story. This store makes me want to say, "No wayyyyy.....way!" and "Excellent!" and "Nothing was bogus" - according to Bill and Ted (it's making my son cringe in the background). Largest surf shop in the world at 52,000 square feet of cool, rad, and gnarly, awesome things (shirts, jewelry, swim wear, accessories, beauty products, home decor, surf boards, rash guards, sunglasses, etc). If you can walk out without buying a shirt, keychain or sticker, I would either be impressed, or think something was wrong with you. Free parking (time limit) in the back of the shop. Long arse lines at all the registers, but that's a testament to how popular this place is. My husband who is an (ex-)surfer, totally loved this shop. Do I surf? No. Did I want to visit this place again on my most recent trip to Florida? YES. I visited here for the first time way back in 2012. I loved this store then and I still love it! I've wanted to make it to some of the other Ron Jon shops since then but haven't been near one. I don't know the best way to describe it. It's like a superstore for beachwear, keychains, hats, sunglasses, shirts, surfboards, art, trinkets, shoes, and a bunch of other random things. It's so much fun to walk around this place and see what you can find. I still have a souvenir magnet from my first visit. This time I found a shirt I had to have! Ron Jon Surf Shop is a really cool place to check out if you're in Florida. The store is huge with an amazing selection of surf gear, beachwear, and souvenirs. Theres honestly a lot more inside than you'd expect. Everything was well organized and easy to browse, and the whole place felt clean and well kept. The restrooms were also surprisingly clean for such a busy spot, which was appreciated. Overall, it's definitely worth stopping in even if you're just looking around. My son found some really cool skateboards as well a nice surprise inside a surf store. Will defiantly come back. Solid 5-stars all the way. read more

I've passed all the billboards along 95 for years, finally stopped by today. This place is unbelievable! A shrine for surfers, but of course 99% of their customers must be people who just love the sun and sand, and there are many. Fun to see all the surfboards and such, but the t shirts and other beachy gear abound. They have a lot of friendly staff who offer the best service. By far is the biggest and best surf shop I have ever seen from the west coast to the east coast! Shop consists of two stories and it literally has everything a surfer would need. Wide selection of skateboards, surfboards, surfer wear, surfer gear, and surfer equipment all under one roof. If you are visiting Cocoa Beach like we did, then you will definitely be tempted to go over to Ron Jon's huge surf shop which is the largest surf shop in the world. I believe they said it was 52,000 square feet big. That's a little over an acre. They sell everything from hundreds of surf boards, men's and women's surfing and beach clothes, swim suits, kids apparel, hundreds of flip flops, hats, fishermens apparel, wetsuits, rash guards, souvenirs and surf accessories. They have everything you can think of. Oh yeah, they also sell home decor! So you will find something that you need or want. Their items are not cheap and they don't offer any deals. They are a bit pricey. The sales staff were friendly and didn't mind explaining what some of the items were used for. The restroom is up on the second floor in the back. There is plenty of parking. Growing up in Florida, this was the place to stop back in the day. It has definitely grown over the years into a megastore. My kids went here for their surf school. It is Florida's oldest program. The instructors were so patient as they learned to ride the waves. This may have been where Kelly Slater started his epic career. Grab a T-shirt, sweatshirt or cap. Makes a great souvenir for yourself, family or friends. We LOVED Ron Jon!!! We are Jersey Shore locals so OF COURSE we had to go back to the place where it all started...the OG Surf Shop AND the biggest one in the world! My mom and I ended up here on a Shore Excursion with our cruise line (Royal Caribbean, highly recommend but the cruise line and the excursion). The shop itself is HUGE and incredibly impressive. They have a very large selection of surf / beach wear, from clothes to accessories, sunscreen to gear. I found the prices were on-par with tourist attractions, if ya know what I mean, lol...but there were some things available on clearance - now that's my language! I picked up some cute items like a hate, a soft t-shirt, and some necklaces for my nieces. In addition, we got a 15% off coupon for being on the excursion which was a nice little perk! While we were there, the shop had a live guitarist playing as we were shopping - and this dude was ROCKING OUT! It was a fun little touch and definitely fed into the surfer environment. read more

I love Ron Jon's! I've been coming here for years. You can spend an hour here easily looking at everything from home decor, surfboards and clothing. There is two levels with stairs and an elevator. We got a body board, a top, a cup and a hat. This store is an iconic staple of Cocoa Beach. There is free parking nearby in the parking lot. We shopped while wearing our bathing suits from the beach. The only con here are the prices. There is another surf shop next door where everything costs less. read more

I like that there were a variety of items: shirts, shorts, bathing suits, jewelry etc. You can take time to explore the store and check out all the floors. The staff were nice and helpful. The one thing I did not like is that there were not a variety of shirts or other items that had Cocoa Beach on it. Many items just had a generic Ron Jon which to me is not specific enough. There are so many Ron Jon's around the country that there should have been more items that reflected the beach where this store is located. Overall, the selection of clothes and prints can be improved upon. Some things I felt were expensive for the quality. Parking is free (90 minutes only) if you can find a spot around the building or kitty corner down the street. We found one quickly and lucked out right by the door. It was about to storm and it was lightning outside so the place was packed. I looked around and didn't see anything that hit my fancy, but my wife found about 4 things on clearance that we did purchase. Fyi when you buy something they give you a free sticker or 2. This store has 2 floors and is jammed packed with surfer shirts, hoodies, swim shorts, boards, etc you name it. A plain shirt is about $25 bucks but you are at the beach so expect a little higher. We were recently staying at Cocoa Beach before a cruise and decided to visit Ron Jon to pass a little time. Never been to one before so we had no idea what to expect. Then we walked in the door. HOLY FREAKIN' COW! The place is enormous! And stocked from floor to ceiling with shirts, pants, jackets, hats, shoes, accessories, things you need, things you didn't know you needed, and things that you have no idea what they are. I. Was. Blown. Away. Oh, and did I mention that there are TWO FLOORS worth of merchandise? Ayeap, two...and a nifty water display! We stopped in "for a few minutes" to check things out. I found a t-shirt that I seriously HAD to have but...alas...they had no more in my size (story of my life). We even asked a staff member and she told us that if it's not on the rack they don't have it (story of my life, again). I still managed to find two other tee's. When you're on a mission... For being such a specialty shop, I expected the prices to be crazily high, but nothing we saw was unreasonable at all, and some things were down right cheap. Well, "for a few minutes" turned into over 2 1/2 hours. We left having purchase a shot glass (of course, I collect them), a hat, a few t-shirts, and some sun screen. It had been well over 10 years since I stepped foot in a Ron Jon shop. I was so surprised by the clothing selection, the prices, and the size of the store. The ONLY reason I am giving this store a 4/5 instead of 5/5 is because the staff was scarce and the ones that were around and working were alone. The lines were long and no one was coming to help the lone cashiers. The staff mood was that of unhappy and grouchy college kids who'd rather be anywhere else. The clothing selection and prices blew my mind. I was perusing the racks and the things I looked at were priced a lot cheaper than what I would have expected and the quality seemed pretty solid. If I had had more cash to drop on clothes for my trip to Cocoa Beach, I would have for sure spent some of it here. If I ever get back down that way, I would budget some shopping money to spend at Ron Jons. I did end up getting a fanny pack - I know, but they are coming back and I LOVE IT haha - and it is solid material and super comfy for a very reasonable price. read more

I've been a Ron Jon customer since I was a little kid, when we would rent bodyboards, surfboards, tethers, PFDs, or buy other gear. When they started offering tee shirts and knick-knacks, I loved getting them so I could show off my surf style when I went back north. If there was a picture of me in the late 80s and early 90s, I am probably wearing a Ron Jon shirt in the photo. When they expanded, it wasn't uncommon to run into some well known surfers including Jeff Crawford and the G.O.A.T. Kelly Slater at Beach n' Board events hosted by Ron Jon. To this day, I still like to stop by and get more goodies, gifts, and the occasional bit of kit (I don't surf, but they still have some nice beach bum gear, decorations for the house, skate clothes, and fishing apparel). And, across the way, you can still rent all kinds of equipment for reasonable prices. Ron Jon staff are rockstars - they are super friendly, and go out of their way to help you out with a smile on their faces. The shelves and displays are always fully stocked, neatly organized, and there always seem to be new designs every season. They have their own dedicated parking lot (they enforce it diligently) so I've always been able to park close-by. The store is wheelchair accessible. When I think of Cocoa Beach, I think of surfing, hanging at the beach, fishing off the pier, and Ron Jon. If we're in the area, we're paying 'em a visit! read more
