Hello! I spent $80 at this place a couple of days ago. I'm from Colombia and I was so happy to hear…read morethat there is a Latin restaurant close by. I ordered the famous mofongo with churrasco and another with chicken.... The mofongo tasted so weird that we had to toss it. The same with the "milanesa de pollo", we have never tasted something that gross! The churrasco was decent in taste but it was hard on the teeth. Also, we order plantain cups filled with octopus... oh my goodness. This was extra gross: swimming in oil and the consistency of the plantain was of something that has been prepared and frozen and then they tried to revive it with hot oil. So, basically, they tried to feed me zombie plantains with canned octopus and some bitter veggies. Tasteless but bitter, old and swimming in oil... yuck!! We ordered too a cheese flan. It was old and the consistency was thick and sugary. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE IF YOU KNOW GOOD LATIN FOOD. AND TO BE HONEST, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A GOOD CONCEPT OF LATIN FOOD. TRULY YUCKY AND $80 THROWN INTO THE GARBAGE CAN!! The lady at the counter is nice though. I feel bad for her to be the face of a place that serves such "food". And also I feel bad that a place like Lady Lake has a place like that representing our food. I hope you consider my review before wasting your money at that place. Good luck!

Get the mofongo with garlic sauce!!…read more It comes served in this creole wood bowl thing and It's big enough to share with someone. The pasta was also delicious and a huge portion, though the protein was a bit sparse - 3 shrimps for a shrimp & chicken dish. Every bite was maravillosa. Spanish opcional!

Following a morning checking out furniture at Babette's and White's, my wife and I were looking…read moreforward to trying this place out after our doctor recommended it. Located seemingly out in the boondocks off a busy intersection of two highways, 42 and 475, the standalone building offers a lot of parking. We were led to a booth when we walked in and given a somewhat cryptic menu...did the meats come with rice, plantains, beans or do you order those extra? Being mofongo virgins, my wife's eyes and mine fixated on it. She ordered churrasco trifongo and I ordered the mofongo with steak and chicken. Our mofongos were smothered with a garlic sauce. The mofongos were served in the wooden mortar it was prepared in with the garlic sauce overflowing on the plate the mortar was served on...nice presentation. When we started eating, we both realized that we won't be able to finish it...that pounded plantain and cassava were quite filling. All that starch. The steak and chicken were tender and the garlic sauce was a good compliment. What we didn't like: 1. Service was spotty. Even though it was a late lunch and the place wasn't packed, our server barely checked in on us and I had to actually walk up the counter to request our bill. 2. The floors were sticky, making us think perhaps the place isn't the cleanest. 3. Music was too loud...we were seated close to the speakers making conversation a challenge. Food was decent but service and ambience, or lack thereof, knocked it down.
