We celebrated Fathers Day here. Made a reservation, was seated promptly. Best view in the Villages. I had the skirt steak and it was tender and delicious. My husband had the grilled grouper and he said it was perfect. We love this restaurant and can't wait to explore the menu further next time. read more

Walked in to a nearly empty restaurant around 2:30-3:00 pm. We were seated right away and our waiter came over immediately and took our drink order. Our drinks took about 15 minutes to get because the bartender was talking away to people at the bar instead of making the drinks. Our waiter kept going to check and finally was able to bring the drinks to the table, one at a time. Ordered another round after our food came, ate almost the whole meal before my husband finally went to the bar and interrupted bartender to ask her to make our drinks. She did and was apologetic and took the drinks off the tab. Food was delicious but the service, for an empty restaurant, was not so great. I think we'd try it again though. read more

We ate a late dinner at Calypso. The waiter was very friendly & took our order promptly. We received our meals in a timely manner. I had a shrimp & crab fried rice with pineapple, which was really good! My hubby had the grouper sandwich (?) with veggies that was also very good. Beautiful restaurant on the water at Lake Sumter. Bar is great both inside and out for afternoon drinks. Menu is not appealing at all. Guys, please change it up. Each time we go drink, we would eat something, but there is absolutely nothing that entices us we would order. How about a bar bites menu? read more

Had a 7 pm res, we weren't seated until after 730. We waited another 30 minutes to see our waiter/waitress. Then food took another 30 minutes. Over all, one royal Cluster Very unimpressed Would not recommend. read more

This "restaurant" is a casual eatery and bar, which, for some reason, required RESERVATIONS. So, I made a reservation for DATE NIGHT. We arrived at our reserved time of 5:15 pm. but the place was in chaos. The hostess was all confused, and ignored by many who walked in and seated themselves while we waited. We finally got seated, but sat and sat waiting for someone, ANYONE, to greet us, acknowledge our existence, or offer us a glass of water, but it seems there aren't enough employees here, even after all the BAD reviews and complaints! They just don't care enough to bother hiring employees to serve their paying customers, so like another couple that had been sitting there for a long time, we got up and left. We never got to experience the food or drink, and have learned to never go there again, or ever take guests from out of town to such an embarrassing representation of The Villages. read more

This is the recently redone restaurant inside the Waterfront Inn at Lake Sumter Landing in The Villages. It was very clearly a hotel restaurant. The bar staff were great, the drinks and food were very good but it felt very expensive for what we actually had. I ordered the groups sandwich and it was good but for a filet of grouper and a side of fries, for $28 was a bit steep. My husband had the braised short rib. For $36 you received one rib and a bowl of grits. It was very tasty but our bill was over 100 for 2 and we didn't feel the meal was that great. The drinks were great. Staff and service was great. Undecided of whether we will be back again. read more

The view is great. The updated restaurant/bar are beautiful. The food was fine. The server was great. The length of time it took for us to get our drink orders, to get our order taken and for the food to be delivered was excessive. Clearly they were not properly staffed for the evening. Only two servers on duty. The poor waiter was absolutely getting slammed. It will be a long time before I would consider going back. read more

The hostess seated us in their last table. This is an extremely small venue. There is outside seating, but it was too cold tonight Our server was great. She apologized for the loud party (a surprise party of 14-16: extremely loud standing up between all the tables). We were literally yelling at each at dinner to be heard. We had the Hot honey chicken sandwich, mostly salad very little chicken nothing hot about it. I wouldn't order it again, nor would I recommend it. My table mate enjoyed the "sticky chicken"'off the shareable menu. It actually tasted better than the hot honey sandwich. I don't think we will be back. The first thing we noticed when we entered the restaurant was the noise level. The extremely loud music was so loud that patrons were talking very loudly to be heard. My wife and I stopped trying to have a conversation because we had to almost shout to be heard. We asked our waitress if she could have the music turned down and said she didn't control the music. The food was only ok. I had the shrimp tacos and my wife the grouper sandwich. Typical pub type food. Nothing special. The service was good. Made a reservation on Open Table for 7:00 p.m. last night (3/6/26). Got there and the place was complete chaos. I see another review here stating the same thing. We left, as it was clear this was going to be a terrible late experience. Here's the thing: I get it that Lake Sumter had the electric light show, etc., and it was a crazy night at the Square. But DON'T TAKE A RESERVATION if you cannot honor it!! They are under-staffed, they don't even make eye contact with you at the hostess stand (presumably because they're embarrassed or stressed), and as the person here said "one royal Cluster". read more

what are great new style restaurant in the villages. From the time you walked in to the time we left everyone was very welcoming. The food was great, we had the she crab soup and the island chowder which were both fresh and delicious and the shrimp tacos were amazing. our server Bobbie was amazing and made sure we were well taking care of. Valentine's Day Massacre. Booked a reservation for 18 for 2/14. The only time we could get was 4:30pm. Ok, not the best, but ok. We were seated in what I'd call the "ugly" end of the patio nearest the pool fencing and pool equipment. The evening temp was a cool 63 degrees with high winds. The "ugly" end did not have heaters like the other side. And that wind was whipping. We asked if we could be sat in the larger inside dining room which had been set with round tables if 6, with a tablecloth (which we didn't have) and a rose on the table. Certainly looked like a valentines set up. We were told the room would be in use and we could not move. Turns out that a table of 6 did sit there, at one table, at 7pm, all by themselves. Drinks took 45 min to order and receive. After 40 min 5 lucky people were served their meals, then 35 min later 6 more received their meals, then 20 min later another couple of folks were granted food, and one lady was served her meal last because they didn't have the food order at 7:10pm. A full 160 minutes to get her dinner! And everyone had already finished. That meal was comped. I guess so! At one point a waiter (not ours) brought over two steak dinners, and actually served the one meal to the lady with no food, then asked for it back. I do believe that's against the health code once someone handles the plate and sits it in front of them for it to be returned to the kitchen. He said the kitchen would re-plate it and re-serve it. Um..yuck. I know, I know, what do you expect going out in a big crowd for Valentine's Day?...well I expect to have a better experience then a 3 hour catastrophe. We all paid a handsome sum for a really, really bad experience, that left a bad taste in our mouths (pun intended). read more
