When the service began, I reported a wasp nest on my property. The technician inspected it but refused to treat it, saying it was "not active." A few months later, the nest became a serious problem -- more than 100 wasps swarmed my home and entered the attic. When I contacted the company again, they refused to go into the attic unless I paid an additional fee. They created this situation by failing to treat the nest in the first place, and then tried to charge me more to fix it. The technician also arrived unprepared to handle the wasp problem -- I had to provide my own pole so he could reach the nest, which I could not do myself due to my disability. He further told me that he wouldn't take care of flying ants and that I should "spray them myself," which is completely unreasonable. The service quality has been extremely poor, and I am very dissatisfied. I intend to cancel my contract, but the company still wants to charge a cancellation fee -- even though they failed to deliver the promised service. This feels like a scam, and I would strongly advise others to avoid this company. read more

BEWARE OF THE DOOR TO DOOR SALESMAN ON A SEDGEWAY! I took out pest control service with ROMEX to take care of a mouse issue at home. I was assured they could handle the problem. I had 1 yard treatment for bugs and they put a couple of black boxes in the yard for mice. I signed up for 1 year, every other month. Meanwhile my husband had consulted with a nationally well-known company. BOTTOM LINE, WE HAD MICE IN THE WALLS, ATTIC, EVERYWHERE! THE PEOPLE MY HUSBAND SPOKE WITH CAME OUT CRAWLED AROUND THE ATTIC, & TOOK PICTURES. Insulation had to be replaced and they also did termite and bug control. We called Romex to cancel & they told us we would have to pay a $250 cancellation fee even though they were unable to do what was necessary to take care of our problem. They are fast talkers and tell you what you want to hear even if they are unable to deliver. read more

**Editing same day just after posting this review. I received a call from a Romex manager, and he honored the email. Thank you to the manager for doing the right thing.** If I could leave zero stars, I would. We sent an email in April requesting to cancel our service after the last treatment. I have an email confirmation that our last service was set for June. Nobody ever showed up, and I looked on our customer portal to see that we are scheduled for the end of July!!! No notice that our appointment changed, no communication AT ALL!!! I sent a follow up email on July 11th...no response from Romex. I sent a follow up email 2nd attempt on July 23rd... nothing. Today (July 24th) I get a call from customer service saying we have to pay for the service in July or pay an early termination fee. They say our service schedule date can vary between 60-90 days based on schedule. They have never communicated that before, and I didn't receive any communication advising me that my June service was moved to July from my cancel service request!! The lady I spoke to today claimed a service reminder was sent out YESTERDAY!!! Why would you send a service reminder when you didn't show up at the originally scheduled time?!?? Also, they sprayed our baby tree that was enclosed in a border...and we thought they killed the tree. They never offered any sort of replacement even after I sent photos showing it was in a border. We have been customers for SEVERAL YEARS and when we moved, we get services set up at our current home. When we scheduled the initial service we were never told about having to sign a new contract. They wouldn't treat the yard without it, and we knew in that moment we would be cancelling service as soon as our treatment agreement was done. Hence the reason I emailed the request to cancel 2 MONTHS IN ADVANCE!!! The customer service has been absolutely AWFUL from Romex and they even see that email confirming the last service is set for June. They want the customer to honor their contracts, however they don't have to!! They asked if I was cancelling service because of the price increase. Completely ignoring the email sent over 2 months prior confirming the cancellation and long before the notice of a price increase was emailed yesterday. We've had to have them retreat our yard after almost every single visit because the product didn't work!!! Only the last 2 treatments did a good enough job. Every time someone comes out, they claim to have a review contest and I have to tell them I've already left a review. One of the technicians actually stood over me and told me step by step how to change my review so I could include his name! Romex offered to keep my service plan at the same rate in order to keep my business, but price isn't the problem!! The customer service and dishonesty is what's making us leave!! read more

Joelle and Chris were so polite and kind to explain their products and how they could treat my house even in the wet weather. They were very professional and respectful. I am posting this as I have had a poor customer service experience with Romex. I have requested to cancel service because they claimed fleas were an extra charge but even though mice were in the same line they weren't an extra charge. It seems there's a lack of consistency with how they charge for services so my husband was unhappy and wanted to cancel the contract. I wanted to communicate via email because I want the paper trail. They have done nothing but manipulate me into having a phone call about the situation. They never respond to my emails with anything more than an apology and lets have a manager contact you to work this out. Then, after I asked multiple times to communicate via email, they charged me the cancellation fee. When I tried to go into the portal to view the bill, they FROZE the account. I couldn't access it nor pay it through the portal. I understand wanting to keep business but they are forcing me to call instead of trying to communicate with me via email as I have requested. This is not good customer service nor giving me any desire to stay with this company. read more

Their service was supposed to come out and take care of spraying but only one man actually did his job in the entire time they were there. They refused to help my mother-in-law with some paperwork with the warranty company and were unprofessional. They ruined her Christmas all because they wouldn't do a quick letter. In July of 2025, we were approached by technician, Adam Owen with Romex who informed me that there was evidence of termites and we needed to sign a contract for an extensive termite treatment. After speaking with others in our neighborhood, they were told the same thing by Romex, however, one of our other neighbors was smart enough to get a second opinion. I had another Pest Control company come out to do a complete and thorough inspection of the inside and outside of our home, our yard, our fence, our attic, and found absolutely no signs of any type of termites or other pests for that matter. I was scammed into signing this ridiculously overpriced termite treatment contract. I attempt to call the local office, they inform me "it's typically not their policy to lie to customers and tell them they have termites when they don't". I called the corporate office three days in a row to ask to speak to a manager, and still no manager is available. She tells me today that the manager is going to visit my home in person on the 24th. I tell her I do not want anyone else from Romex visiting my home I want to speak to someone by phone or email. Then she tells me he is not available to do so, he would have to visit in person on the 25th (but it was the 24th a minute ago). She even hesitated to give me his name. She told me only his first name, and I had to ask for his last name. Extremely disappointed in the poor service I have received from Romex. read more

I've only stuck with this company because my wife was partial to them. I've always seen slack in their service. Like when they came out for the monthly service and I go out on my back porch and see spider webs in every corner. When the person came back on a recall his words exactly "looks like they didn't even come back here". Now I have a rat and or mice infestation in my upstairs room via the attic space. When they came out for a recheck, one technician said the bait box on the side of the house was empty and that was their bad because some of them don't check it, then the other technician pointed out some potential entry points and did nothing but tell me how I could fix it. Once a company gets big its inevitable that they hire people who just collect a paycheck and make the company owner richer (example Boeing) at the expense of the customer. I had rescheduled service for a 2 to 4 slot Aug 17. The tech, Jay, showed up before 1:30 and started spraying my yard in front without knocking on my door and telling me he was here to start service. I have a note on my account to notify me they are here so I can make sure my dogs are up and can unlock the gate and walk back with the tech. The tech started spraying the front yard and porch, never knocking to let me know if it was okay. Then he walked back to the locked gate and started banging on the gate and swinging the pad lock. I kept calling from the front porch for him to stop before he busts the gate. He came around the corner of the house pissed off at me. I yelled at him for pounding the gate, telling him he should be coming to the front door to let the customer know they are here instead of running all over the front and trying to bang down a gate. He upset my dogs doing what he did and I asked him if was trying to get bit because he was acting like a damn careless moron. I gave him quite a deserved 'telling off'. He stormed off to his truck and left. He later wrote a note on my account that he finished service when he did no such thing. He also wrote I threatened him with my dog. This tech is a liar and the most unprofessional I have ever had with any home service of any kind. This is the 3rd service I have had with Romex and the second time they have not completed service and I was charged for full service today. Can't speak to how good their actual services are, but their sales methods are terrible. Get the usual knock at the door, we're doing pest control, etc. etc. Tells me they service all the nearby neighbors and they're doing a neighborhood rate. Okay, doesn't sound too terrible. Guy gives me his spiel and I ask about a business card, an information page, something like that and he doesn't have anything. Red flag - every time I've interacted with a company that doesn't have anything for me to call them back on my own time, it's because they're trying to push you into making a decision RIGHT NOW that isn't in your best interest. But I let him continue on. I see there's two columns of costs on the laminated page he has, one for first time service for over $300 (I believe it was $350, but as I said they wouldn't provide any documentation for me to actually keep), and then the follow-up ones for $120. Of course he keeps pointing to the $120 while talking, and when he eventually gets to the first service he says that because of the previously mentioned "neighborhood rate" he could do it for $100. I obviously still seem hesitant, and he offers to do the first service and let me "try them out" at $70. I figure why not, worst case I lose $70 which still sucks bit it's not the end of the world. So I agree to get "put on the route" and have them come out and spray. Start giving him payment information, he's scrolling through all the information on his tablet, and then I see that there's a 12-month contract that would total up to over $900 over the year, and that if I cancelled I'd have to pay a cancellation fee equal to the amount of the discount on the first time service. So something around a $280 cancellation fee - oh, but they're super nice and cap the cancellation fee at $250! Ignore that it's conveniently the exact discount they initially try to provide. Seeing it was a contract that would cost me a minimum of $350 if I cancelled, to $900+ if I stayed, I said I wasn't interested. I explicitly told him it was because I was not interested in a contract. Then he starts getting pushy - Why don't I want it now? What's wrong with a contract? I have to repeatedly tell him I'm not interested, I don't want it, no thank you. Even when I tell him I just don't like contracts and don't want it, he keeps pushing for it. This place has all the hallmarks of a terrible business model. It's designed to make you feel like this is an amazing deal you have to take RIGHT NOW! If you don't get it RIGHT NOW you'll miss out and then you'll regret it! This is the type of business practice that shows there's a major problem with the business itself - if the business just did good work at a good price, they wouldn't feel the need to push people into contracts that make them feel locked in, they wouldn't hide that it's a contract until the literal line before the "Accept" option, they'd be willing to provide information for you to review on your own and work with them on your own time. I'd avoid at all costs just on principle. read more

I was previously happy with their service but each time they come out, I'm more and more disappointed!! It really depends on who comes to do your service if they do a good job. The same guy came out after I complained he did not treat the outside perimeter with granules after he stated he did, they said he would no longer be sent out to do my service and he was sent again. I'm paying for a service I'm not receiving and they are charting they did it... I have cameras!! Taking down cobwebs and spreading granules didn't not happen!! Can't speak to their actual service, but the salesperson came to our home twice today on a segway. The first time, he approached our front door that has a clearly posted "No soliciting" sign and proceeded to ring our doorbell anyways. Later today when we were in our front yard working on our lawn, he came around the corner and approached us in our driveway. After being told no multiple times and that we weren't interested (we don't have a bug problem as we do maintenance treatment to prevent it) he continued trying to lower the price in hopes we'd sign up for a YEAR contract. From what I've read in other reviews it seems this is commonplace which is not ideal for a company that wants to get neighborhoods worth of clientele. read more

I was visited by a young man claiming to be from this company . He was nice in the beginning and explained all about the services. I politely listened but in the end told him I told him that I would think about it and would need to talk it over with my family. He insisted that we all talk about it now. He then proceeded to give more discounts and to let me know about all my neighbors whom he serviced. I don't know any of the neighbors he mentioned. He was just insistent and wanted to know why we couldn't talk about it and what problem I was having. After that I told him no thank you but he kept harassing me for another 5 minutes. I already have a service guy and didn't want to cancel my services with them. My daughter noticed that there was no truck in the area and he had approached the house on a Segway. I am suspicious of someone trying so hard to convince me to sign up for some service I had never heard of and then proceeds to harass me for five minutes after I told him no. read more

Being that we live in a new construction zone we felt it was necessary to have our home professionally sprayed. Ryan sold us the service, and Brett sprayed the inside and outside of our home. I felt that both gentlemen were friendly and professional, and I am confident that their services will work. Please stop harassing our neighborhood with your shady solicitation practices. I have been living in Highgarden for the last 7 months and we have gotten the same door to door sales pitch every month. A serious business wouldn't need to lie about the "terrible" pest in our neighborhood to make a sale. Or Harass new home owners telling them they are the only ones not using the company. We have a non-solicitation sign in our entrance, the city ordinance is clear. Yesterday, a neighbor approached your salesman and let him know this is a non-solicitation neighborhood and your salesman was rude and he said he didn't care about the non-solicitation sign and he was going to continue to solicit. Very unethical. Sold a "one time treatment" at their discounted rate then slipped in unmentioned contract for yearly service. This was after repeated conversation about not wanting a yearly service, moving well before the end of a contract period. Then when confronted with this their "cancellation team" said they could cancel with a $150 fee. So now their discounted rate costs well over $200. Stay away from this business. They are shady, possibly criminal in their business practices. read more
