Now that I've had multiple deliveries from them, there is a definite pattern. I first discovered Romeo via COD. When COD changed their format, their lowest price vendor didn't compare to Romeo. I spoke with a couple of the delivery drivers, and found them really enthusiastic about the firm. After few years now, there's a pattern of a well run, well priced, operation, with a good work force. At least that's how it looks from here. read more

Romeo's is now an AVOID for me. After several calls and being told to wait until today to call to answer with my question as the person answering couldn't answer my question. Slomins has purchased them and it's all changed. Not many know this but as time goes on they will. After being a customer for years they wanted over $100 to read the fuel gauge for a home sale. The people answering the telephone are no longer in the US and are difficult to understand. It's a shame a great company with a reasonably good record was sold off to a mass provider with a history of poor service. Back to COD fuel site for me. read more

I have used Romeos for years. I ordered 100 gallons, 4 weeks ago. The app put through another order for 200 gallons. I noticed the next morning and promptly called to ask why there was another order and have it cancelled. They said no problem, order cancelled and your refund will be in your account in 5-7 days. Now we're are almost 4 weeks in and many phone calls later with no refund in sight. Yesterday I was told, by the office manager, that the refund was processed and I would see it pending in my account today. Nope, still not there. Buyer be aware! read more

Never again - used them often and today's freezing weather I was supposed to get a delivery I ordered last Thursday. I called them and was on hold 45 mins each time and told they would be there in an hour on the first call at 9:30am - the second call at 1:30pm I am told they will not make it today - what a joke read more

Yea Well I read all the wonderful ratings given here, I imagine they had no problems with ordering and receiving their oil, I CAN"T say the same-- Do you all realize if you do have a problem YOU WILL NOT be able to speak to anyone here in the united states that being the company it's self, this number they are providing here at the Yelp site is Bull Crap, you will get connected to the same out sourced answering service in tahiti! That's right tahitti! Your only option is to drive to their office in holtsville if you want to get customer service to deal with issues you may be having!! BE AWARE!! This is also the case if you just want to get a price and order, you get connected to Tahiti--- Oh and you can order from the web site but not everyone is computer savy or owns one, I know plenty of very senior citizens who don't have one or knows how to use it!! read more

I would give this company zero stars if that were an option. We had an oil delivery this morning, and immediately afterward our heating system shut off. Despite this happening right after their delivery, the company refused to take any responsibility. When I spoke with a supervisor, I was told that their representative was "not trained enough" to tell us that if the oil tank is empty, we must specifically request a restart, which costs an additional $75. However, they had no problem clearly explaining that an emergency delivery would cost $200. Because of the extreme cold, we used more oil than usual and didn't realize how low our tank was. I have never run out of oil before, so I had no way of knowing I needed to ask for a restart in advance. Instead of offering any help or solutions, the staff was extremely rude and repeatedly told me to call another plumbing service. As a result, I now have to pay another company to fix the issue. We have children at home and currently have no heat in freezing temperatures. This experience has been unacceptable. I will not be using this company again and will also be filing a complaint with the BBB. Please be aware and avoid this company. read more

I ended up filing a complain with BBB about my experience with Romeo's and the next day received a phone call from their office. They called to apologize for the misunderstanding on the oil delivery and refunded the money I was overcharged. We discussed the situation with my fuel tank and said the driver should have spoken with me because maybe my oil tank needed to be pumped slower (it's an older tank). I appreciated the office manager calling to rectify the situation, it's too bad I had to wage such a formal complaint to get us there. I may consider using Romeo's again for fuel deliveries because they do have low prices but I'll be wary. read more

I will no longer be using this company, the delivery guy dropped the cap for my delivery never said anything and since 8/11 until today I noticed this. Cap in the dirt and instead of saying hey I dropped the cap you have anything I can use to get it? Nope just leave it there. Therefore after 4 years you'll no longer have my business. read more

I was charged a cancellation fee of $50. This was never disclosed to me when I ordered the oil. I only cancelled because Romeo was too busy and needed to put my delivery off to the next day. I told Romeo I was afraid I would run out so I called another oil company. It certainly did not cost him anything. He did not care. I use Bayshore Fuel now 631-665-8800. They are reliable and affordable BayShore Fuel should be Romeos biggest competition read more

Last Saturday, I Ordered 200 gallons of fuel using the App. The App never sent me any email or text confirmation of my order. On Tuesday, for a delivery status, I called Customer Service and after 15 minutes wait I spoke to a lady. I explained to her communication issues with the App. She informed me that IT is aware of the issues and they are working on it. She informed me the delivery will be on Thursday despite the App displayed before ordering would be on Wednesday. I explained to customer service that the tank is close to empty and I need the oil on Wednesday, but she said that she can't promise me the delivery schedule can be changed. She also informed me that the status is in the App's History which is not true. The App is poorly designed. It doesn't show any detailed information about the placed order. I called Customer Service again today, Thursday, and on hold for over 10 minutes and then I was disconnected. Romeo fuel's customer service is not customer friendly and the App is the same (inferior). Very very disappointed as this will be my last Oder with Romeo fuel as to no flexibility and customers are not treated with dignity and respect. read more

I've been with Romeo's for a few years and I am so happy with their service. They go above and beyond for customers when needed and always deliver quickly with great drivers. I'm also happy with their pricing. read more

$100 Romeo credit scam- Watch out Filled out referral on my account, and confirmed the credit online. Referral received their delivery.. Unfortunately, I left out a dot in the email I gave them. They never reported anything wrong with the email address, but they diligently used that information to find the delivery location. Checked on my $100 credit, and they said that they had no record of the referral because of the missing dot in the email address. So, you get no $100 credit, and the referral gets no $100 credit. Went up the line to top management, and they said even though the referred email address looks the same, a dot is missing, and we can't do anything about it. They never contacted me about the error in email address, but they certainly managed to find the delivery address of the referral to make the delivery.. The referral was not informed of the $100 lost credit. God help you if there is ever an error in their accounting system. Apparently they won't be able to do anything about it. read more

Be careful with this company, it is totally a fraud!! I ordered 200 Gallons of oil but they only delivered 0.2 Gallons. They charges me $51.31 for the 0.2 gallon and also the 200 gallon when I prepaid!! Stay away from this company! read more

first time using the company they were great on time and great prices. the people are very friendly and helpful.

I have been trying to get a hold of a representative regarding receiving heating oil. The phone number listed. 631-400-3835. The phone just keeps ringing. No answering machine. No answering service, no call backs. NOTHING. I'm wondering if it's because we have appx $300 credit ? To say that we are frustrated is an understatement. read more

This is a complaint about Romeo's not honoring the $100. credit for both a new customer and a referring customer. After the second delivery, I was told I would not get the $100. new customer credit and my friend would not get the $100. referral credit. I have an email stating my friend and I would each get the $100. off. I registered on their web site to find the price of oil and did not see a place to indicate who referred me. I immediately called and was told I should have waited for the referral first, but that they would honor the $100. off. After the second delivery, I asked for my referral fee to be credited to my account. Nasty Erica refused, even though I had the email saying my friend and I would each get the $100. It is incredible how Nasty Erica could be so rigid with a new customer. If she was not going to honor the promo, I should have been told before I received two oil deliveries. It is as if she enjoyed telling me I could not get the promised promotion. Nasty Erica. read more

For something so simple, Romeo's Fuel proved to have the worst customer service of all time. At least top 3 and it's not #3 DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. My WIFE Was called incompetent over the phone for an issue on their end and was even being ignored when requesting a refund. AND THIS COMING FROM THE OWNER HIMSELF. This is more than just rude service, This is a legitimate issue regarding their customer service and the way they respond to genuine complaints related to their products and services and needs to be addressed, and I'm even considering contacting the bureau to submit a report! I should've listened to ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS COMMENTING THE SAME THING! read more

I have used Romeo's Fuel for the past 2 years and it has not been a good experience. Romeo's always has the cheapest prices but not once have they ever gone into the bracket of fuel I have ordered which is more expensive and typically does not allow a coupon to be used. So every time, my tank is not full and I paid significantly more than I would have if I went to someone else. Stay away from these people. read more

Don't spend a single penny with this company. They charged my retired mom, living off social security for 100 gallons of fuel, then delivered it to the wrong house and when we called to get it corrected, I was told to have my elderly mom go to the house they mistakenly delivered the fuel to and get her money from them. Am completely dumbfounded that a company that I've been buying fuel from for more than 5 years, would refuse to remedy their mistake. I believe this is horrible customer service for a mistake made by someone in their company. read more

I always check the level of my fuel tank before and after each delivery. The last delivery was 100 gallon less than what I was charged for. I recently ordered 200 gallons of oil for delivery on March 11th, 2024. Unfortunately, upon receipt, I discovered that only 100 gallons were delivered, leaving me with a significant shortfall. Despite my attempts to contact the company to rectify the situation, I encountered delays and inadequate responses from their customer service team. This lack of prompt resolution compounded the frustration caused by the initial error. While I have previously been satisfied with their services, this experience has raised serious concerns about their reliability and communication. Moving forward, I urge the company to implement better monitoring systems and improve customer service protocols to prevent similar incidents. Overall, my experience with them fell short of expectations due to the significant discrepancy in the delivered quantity and the subsequent lackluster response. I hope that they take steps to address these issues and restore confidence in their services. read more

A number of years ago due to their competitive pricing I gave them a call a few times, but suspected their trucks pump meters were not properly calibrated OR their driver was pumping in less so as to be able to kick the price up a notch to the next pricing bracket for less gals., but that aside. My biggest issue was when their driver overfilled my tank by about 5 gals. into my basement all over the floor. Enough is Enough & that was the last time I ever called them. read more

I ordered a "fill tank" oil fill online on Saturday because I hade about a quarter of a tank fill and wanted to get prepared for the season. I expected a delivery on Monday. They arrived today, Monday October 28th. Their rates were competitive however they only put 15 gallons of oil in my tank.. I went to check my tank to see if I was mistaken in the quantity I had originally had. NOPE. They left the tank more than half empty. This company is horrible! Ha Ha Tammy writes dont pay attention to the neg reviews! This Company thinks because it beats most by a nickel they can treat customers like crap! I was a longtime customer with multiple properties. Because I was trying to save a nickel I would use them. Believe me People its worth paying more than to rely on Romeos fuel. Your lucky they even show up. Also are you really getting what you pay for??? There fuel meters need to be caliebrated which are rarely ever done. try calling youll be lucky to get anyone to answer the phones. They never return calls, emails, or web inquiries. WHY DO YOU THINK THEY HAVE SO MANY BAD REVIEWS ! ARE ALL THESE PEOPLE LIARS??? I DONT THINK SO! read more

Just scheduled a delivery from Romeos via CODfuel website. I was wary because their pricing was so much lower than the others on that website. But I figured I'd try them anyway. On a Saturday, I scheduled for Monday delivery. They were here delivering at around 8 am. Very impressed and I intend to use them again. I've been a contrac customer for over 30 years with a couple of other suppliers. But this year the prices were so high back in august at renewal time I decided to take a chance. It's worked out great since I've found Romeo's. It's not rocket science. Buy fuel, schedule delivery, get fuel. read more

If you want a decent price then ok. If you want customer service , No. If you want a return phone call after several messages, No. If you want a return email, No. They spilled fuel oil at the fuel cap, leaving the unmistakable smell. I even had a tip added to the bill for the driver! Obviously that was a mistake! My order was supposed to have a discount. My tank only had 16 inches of fuel, they delivered fill the tank up to 32 inches which brings the tank level up to 217 gallons out of my 275 gallon tank. In other words, they only delivered 100 gallons out of my 150 gallon order and because of that they did not give me my $25 discount. You're better off somewhere else where you can speak to someone, and get service. Their recordings are still using the excuse of Covid and unprecedented times from years ago as an excuse not to deal with the customers. Oh, and if you don't believe me, just read the other reviews. Take it for what it's worth. read more

Scheduled an oil delivery for 3 days from when I called. MY wife called them the morning on the delivery date and they said they would be their by noon. At 1 she called them back and they informed her that we were not on their schedule, and would not be getting any delivery. The secretary then said that I had called but never scheduled a delivery. They then told me wife that they could only come in 2 days. She asked to speak to a manager, and they never called back. When I called to schedule the delivery, when the call was ending , the scheduler said that the delivery was set, and said the wrong day. I immediately corrected her and she said yes sorry.
