Romeo is a Vendor of CODFUEL. CODFUEL did nothing to correct this problem.
Romeo seems to always have the lowest price which is sketchy enough given all of the recent arrests Newsday has been reporting for meter tampering in the fuel oil business. This guy is a cheater and gives the entire industry a bad name.
I live in Northport and ordered 400 gallon + of fuel from Romeos fuel who refused to honor agreed upon price and date scheduled through CODFUEL. Romeos delivered fuel to my home several times in the past.
Ordered the fuel late wed evening for sat delivery. Got a last minute call Friday night at 630 the night before delivery. Romeo told me "he does not deliver to my area" I told him Romeos delivered to my home in Northport several times, and as recently as August. Incredibly, Romeo said the several past deliveries "were a mistake". Romeo had my order a full two days (plenty of time to discover his past "mistake), in that time the wholesale price of oil had risen slightly.
He said my area was listed on his site as a place where he does not deliver. This is a bald faced lie! Northport is not listed on his site. This is exactly what his website says "We do not deliver to Lloyd Harbor, Lloyds Neck, Eatons Neck, Ashoroken or North Huntington". I don't live in any of those places. My home is easily accessible located exactly one block north of 25a In the Fort Salonga area of Northport. More damming after this incident I called Romeos directly and asked if they deliver to Kings Park which is 8500 feet due East of my home or Smithtown which is 1.4 miles due South and the person answering the phone said absolutely to both places. I could roll a bowling ball from my home to Kings Park!
Rather than tell me the truth Romeo used a cowardly excuse. The real reason is he did not want to honor the agreed upon price of 116.9. Surprise, Surprise, the very next morning Romeos increased his online price 125.9. Worse yet I desperately needed the fuel. Romeo did not care that l would run out this weekend without the scheduled delivery. All he cared about was the fact that the wholesale price had risen slightly between order placement and delivery date. He lied because he is contractually bound by CODFUEL to deliver at the agreed upon price.
The bold faced lies and refusal to honor his contractual commitments calls into question Romeo's integrity in all aspects of his business. There are a lot of ways to cheat people in this business. I am reporting this breach so that the approriate people can investigate this incident and any other breaches of contract and law. read more
