Nice hotel, we checked in rather late, thought it would be hard to sleep because there were a lot…read moreof what I thought might be loud individuals around. But the room was quiet. No breakfast served, can't blame them for that because most every hotel is finding a way to back out of serving breakfast due to Covid. Well, I should take that back we have stayed in some hotels that have managed to still serve a warm breakfast even with the Covid issue. It's still confuses me, if masks and copious amounts of hand sanitizer everywhere work, then why not carry on in a more normal, sustainable fashion? Follow the money... The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable. The vanity light in the bathroom did not work and there were various lights out around the building outside, I suspect again due cut back's... But again, the room was clean! Very important! :-) Check in was smooth and efficient, we arrived around 9:45 PM and the front desk attendant was in good spirits and very professional. The location is also good, I did not feel like there would be any problems with vandalism to the car overnight and felt perfectly comfortable walking around outside in the morning. My daughter and I had a very long day milling around in West Amboy where we have family members from way back laid to rest. It was great to get a good nights rest here. I would stay here again.

This is an aging property that has been poorly maintained. Our room on the first floor (king size…read morebed) was fine, but the crumbling paint, moldy shower, cracked wood on the old doors, along with other elements, don't provide much confidence in the place. Additionally, the exterior of the building and the hallways, entrance/exits are downright gross and decrepit. The stairwell smelled like ashy hookah coals and dirty pool water. The hallway outside our door smelled so strongly of marijuana. When we got there, the heavy floral scent at the checkin was overwhelming. All those smells got better over our two night stay, and thankfully our room did not smell of any of those things. Air conditioner worked well as did the mini fridge with freezer. Water was hot most of the time. I saw a couple ants, but no other insects inside. Bed was clean, but I felt better about the room after wiping surfaces and some of the shower down with Lysol wipes. Bring shower shoes. Although breakfast is listed as included, no breakfast was provided as far as I could tell, and there were only decaf coffee pods in the room. Generally this is a fine, subpar and cheap place if you don't need to stay in your room for much of your stay.

I've never been a huge fan of eggplant Parmesan, but I thought I'd give it a try. It was really good, very flavorful and very big! Holy cow my eyes were bigger than my stomach! Onion zucchini salad was also good. And they give you like an entire loaf of bread too! You will NOT leave hungry from here! Atmosphere: It's a historic hotel turned into a restaurant, it is pretty cool. I can imagine, middle of winter, it's cold outside and they have a line around the block to get in. It's comfort food. Cozy inside and just an awesome place by default. Price: 40$ for a meal... the app was for 2-4 people so per person it will run you about 30$. Considering I have leftovers for tomorrow, this was a lot of food for a little price! Service: My server was awesome, older lady, close to closing. They were all super nice and again, didn't come over every 5 minutes to check on me. She gave me good recommendations! Overall: I'm not one for Italian, checkout my other reviews. But after this place, I'd eat more if it was like this. Keep it up! Cool spot, great food, decent price. I'll be back if I'm back in the area.

The service was ok. They took a while to serve me and another group that was seated ahead of me. But they were understaffed for the amount of patrons. My server was great, gave recommendations on beers and the food choice. The environment was like a Cheers, everyone more less knew one another which it felt odd eating solo and ppl just looking at me but oh well. I recommend and would go back if I come back.

We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast and weren't sure what to expect. This place exceeded our expectations. The mansion itself is beautiful. Every time we walked around the house we discovered more treasures, everything from the molding to antique pieces. The property has a lovely view of the Erie Canal. Each morning there was coffee waiting or us outside our door on a beautifully arranged tray. Then we went down to breakfast. I hate to repeat myself but the table was also beautifully arranged. We tried several different dishes during our stay, each one delicious. Our host, John and Rebecca, were there for our every need, without being intrusive. After running around all day It was so relaxing to return to our room each night. We asked several relatives to stop by and see the place. Our Aunt was thrilled as she had driven by hundreds of times and never been inside. She was not disappointed. One extra point. They have a friendly dog named Riley who helped us forget how much we missed our own pets. We plan to return here each time we return to Syracuse.
