I came to this hotel as a innocent tourist and i was extremely surprised. The lady i would like to complain is emo and works the front desk. And she also likes to guard the apples with her life, i tried to enjoy complimentary apples and she told me i couldn't and she would call the police if i was out if my room again. I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Rome, NY for my daughter's cheer competition, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. At check-in, we were told guests wouldn't receive key cards -- staff had to escort everyone to their rooms. This meant we also couldn't access outdoor areas or hotel facilities on our own, which was extremely inconvenient. When I mentioned this and asked if guests would be compensated, the front desk manager Courtney laughed with a coworker and said their "rates are low enough." That's a strange comment when you're paying $300 a night in Rome, NY. She claimed my card was declined even though I'd already checked in through the app and had a room number. After I set my phone down to grab my card, she yelled at me for "slamming" it. When I asked her name, she refused to tell me and ignored my daughter when she asked for the WiFi code. Because we're Hilton members, we were told we could choose something from the reward box -- Courtney rolled her eyes and said, "Ugh, you're members, you can pick something." Later, I found out she told another guest my full name and talked about me. Completely unprofessional and a major privacy violation. The GM apologized, but the damage was done. I couldn't wait to leave. Bottom line: if you want to be ridiculed, and have your personal information shared, go see Courtney. Otherwise -- when in Rome, don't do as Courtney does. read more

We usually stay at Hampton Inns, and most have been very good. We were in Rome to attend a funeral and stayed here for the one night. I really enjoyed the room, staff, and breakfast. I was very impressed, especially with the friendly and courteous staff. And the bed was SO comfortable that my husband even slept well, and he never sleeps well anywhere other than our own bed at home, so that's saying something. Thank you for such a pleasant experience during an unpleasant time for us. read more

HORRIBLE TERRIBLE PLACE TO STAY!! I checked in the morning 9/9/2024 about 11am....I dropped my bags off at my room and quickly headed out to class. When I came back to my room after class, i noticed my BATHROOM WAS DIRTY. there was hair all over the walls and in the bathtub. The wall has food splattered all on it, the chair has dried tomato sauce on it, ants crawling up the walls and on the desk. I called the Front desk spoke with Corrine, as per Corrine came downstairs and she will switch my room. I gathered my belongings and went to the front desk....now. Corrine told me there's no rooms, I asked to speak to a supervisor who is Courtney Lugg but Courtney refused to speak with me. I asked Corrine for the contact information for the general manager or director, her boss.... As per Corrine she is on maternity leave then I asked for an email or card she said I don't have it, you have to speak with Courtney or call Hilton. So basically I am suppose to sleep in a filthy dirty, nasty room smh. As per Corrine it's not her problem. This is terrible customer service from the manager down to the front desk employee. Just disgusting, don't stay here. I called Hilton to open an investigation because this is unacceptable. read more

We came up to Rome for my sister's funeral. We were there for 5 nights. Every time we came in the door the gals where always smiling. Greeting us..room was very comfortable...I want that mattress on my bed..so comfy. Very clean..breakfast was good every morning & food was kept full...I would definitely stay here again. Not a mask to be seen. The hotel displayed large mask mandate posters in doors, the front desk, and elevators yet my family were the only people wearing masks during our 2 day stay- neither patrons or staff. Even a staff person knocked at our door and when I answered was shocked to see no mask and stand within 2 feet. The behavior was reckless. We felt uncomfortable during our stay and would not recommend this location until the pandemic is under control. Our stay occurred at the end of September 2021, a time that the world highly recommends social distancing and mask wearing. read more

Nice hotel, we checked in rather late, thought it would be hard to sleep because there were a lot of what I thought might be loud individuals around. But the room was quiet. No breakfast served, can't blame them for that because most every hotel is finding a way to back out of serving breakfast due to Covid. Well, I should take that back we have stayed in some hotels that have managed to still serve a warm breakfast even with the Covid issue. It's still confuses me, if masks and copious amounts of hand sanitizer everywhere work, then why not carry on in a more normal, sustainable fashion? Follow the money... The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable. The vanity light in the bathroom did not work and there were various lights out around the building outside, I suspect again due cut back's... But again, the room was clean! Very important! :-) Check in was smooth and efficient, we arrived around 9:45 PM and the front desk attendant was in good spirits and very professional. The location is also good, I did not feel like there would be any problems with vandalism to the car overnight and felt perfectly comfortable walking around outside in the morning. My daughter and I had a very long day milling around in West Amboy where we have family members from way back laid to rest. It was great to get a good nights rest here. This Hampton is actually quite nice. From the lobby to the rooms, it's clean and well organized. The staff are helpful and quite friendly. It's also very quiet. They have a small but well appointed workout room. There's even fresh fruit and cookies put out for the guests. Having said all this you're probably asking why I only gave it three stars. Well that's all due to the pool area. The pool was probably the worst I've ever seen in a hotel. The pool deck was dirty and the pool itself green. I couldn't see to the bottom of the pool even upon close inspection. The pool area smelled bad and I noticed ants crawling on the floor. This was quite disappointing as every other aspect of this hotel was well done. read more

I stayed here for an event November 21-24, 2019. The entire property is updated, modern, appealing, and conveniently located. My room was beautiful, spacious and comfortable; the common areas (especially the breakfast seating area, where my group gathered to socialize at night) were also attractive, comfortable and accommodating. The staff I interacted with (front desk, breakfast staff) were very friendly and helpful. And I got great pricing between the rate that my group negotiated, and the extra night I booked myself. I'll definitely stay here again next year for my group's annual event, and any other time I go to Rome! read more

Another great Hamper Inn! The last Hampton review I did was in Staunton, VA. That one was great cause they had cookie hour everyday. But this Hampton, they have cookie hour everyday EARLY! Woah! It's only 12:30pm and I already see a load of cookies! They stay out until near 7-8pm! The best part is that they're the double chocolate! You can't beat that! On top of that, they have cheesecake bites and also a crockpot of chili in the evening. They exceed my expectations! Awesome hotel! Mary Jo and all the gals at the front desk, the housekeepers are all very friendly and pleasant to talk to. You couldn't ask for a better hotel to spend some time in. Staying here while my place is having some work done. Very nice. Rooms are clean and quiet, they have a microwave and a fridge as well as free wifi. There's an indoor pool, a patio with a gas grill for guests use and fire pits. All you need are friends and a guitar. I'll be here this week and I feel like I'm on vacation. read more

Appeared to be recently built. Clean all over. Friendly and accommodating staff. Lots to choose from for breakfast and a nice large room to eat it in. Snacks in the lobby were appreciated. The Blu-Ray player in the room was a nice feature so we didn't need to open the laptop. Pool is nice and although we didn't use it, the fitness room was well equipped. Very pleased we chose to stay the night. Also, it wasn't too far from several places to get dinner. We will stay again. read more

Everything I've come to expect from a Hampton Inn and more. They have lovely firepits with seating areas and a grill on the patio for guests to enjoy, and the staff was super accommodating to meet our needs. I spent years in a job as a road warrior and came to value Hampton Inn as my home away from home due to their consistency with services, cleanliness and hospitality.
