Centrally located to Cooperstown and Erie Canal. The B&B was better than I had imagined it to be. The historical structure holds an interesting past and has been newly renovated inside and out. VERY clean inside and out. The cook to order breakfasts were second to none. Loved being able to visit with Brick!! Jason went above and beyond with arranging a pastor to perform our renewal and arrange for a wonderful dinner at Beardsley Castle (a must see). Our room was comfortable, slept better here than at home! It was also a convenient location; lots to discover nearby.

When I first opened the door I was impressed by the size of the room, huge is all I can say. The bed was warm and cozy, buy was I tired after a long day. The suite consisted of a living room, bed room and bathroom. Even the bathroom was huge. In the morning I was greeted by a beautiful picturesque view of the falls. The Inn also provided a Continental Breakfast, and the best thing ever for a morning, a Kureg coffee maker with a selection of various coffees. The host was amazing, showing us the rooms and describing anything we might need to know. The place is Amazing and I suggest a stay when ever you're in the area. Sorry, some of the photos are blurry because I had a screen on the window. I forgot to mention that the bathroom had a Jacuzzi.

The king bed was nice, but I felt that mattress was ready to be replaced, as there were several sunken divots in certain spots. One morning my hosts allowed my sister to enjoy the breakfast with me, even though she was not a guest. The Inn is an oasis from the busy world and while I was staying there it allowed me to finish one book, and take in all the ambiance of a richly appointed Inn. The Portobello is ideally situated so that I could easily get to Utica, Herkimer, and the wonderful Little Falls Canal Days celebration during my stay, Driving a car is a delight in the Mohawk Valley! Well - it's been a while but I'm finally getting around to it - we spent a few days here back in…read moreSeptember for our honeymoon before heading to Toronto. Initially, we had a little trouble getting a hold of them to make the reservation, but once we had that taken care of it was pretty much everything we could ask for. We arrived later on in the evening the first night, so we couldn't actually see much around the B&B and went to dinner. We came back, opened a bottle of wine, sat on the back porch, and stared at what was probably the most stars either of us had ever seen. Then we went to bed. When we woke up, we were not expecting what we saw - shrouded in a morning mist (sounds cheesey - but this is the real deal), the back of the place overlooked the Moose River, a calm portion that almost made up a small lake. It was really amazing, and as it cleared up we were just thrilled to have chosen the place. Access to free canoes and kayaks - which we took full advantage of. The landscaping and area leading down to the river was very nice, a great place to relax after a day of being a tourist or after some light kayaking. The river was very nice, meandering with houses here and there along the shore, perfect for a lazy canoe or kayak trip. Also lots of turtles, water birds, etc., I'd imagine the fishing would be pretty good too. They also have a sweet, sort of vintage tandem bike - good times. We went to have breakfast - a really nice continental - and the owners were really lovely. Super friendly and helpful re: getting around and finding things to do, Stuart and Jimmy were really great. They weren't obtrusive, but made sure we were well taken care of. The room was very nice, everything was sort of an Asian/Northwoods/Antique-y mixture that wasn't too gaudy but you still knew you were in a B&B. If you're planning on hitting upstate New York and you want to stay some place affordable (it was $79/night for 3 nights during the week - you can stay at a crappy hotel for that much or more), this is not to be missed. Friendly, beautiful, and really close to perfect to be totally honest - we were fully satisfied and talk about going back whenever it comes up.

Our quarters were comfortable, quiet and just the right vibe for a lazy weekend near the Adirondacks. This is also the perfect place to not only relax, but indulge in a nice meal. When you book a room, you might be asked if/when you would be interested in breakfast or dinner (depending on your itinerary). The owner, whose name is Rob was more than happy to customize our breakfast, while taking into account dietary restrictions/allergies. When my family entered the restaurant, we immediately like the rustic country decor. We were immediately greeted by a woman who confirmed our reservations and showed us to our table. The restaurant was quickly filling up and it took a few moments for a server to come to our table. After about 15-20 minutes it seemed like the staff got it going and food was coming out to tables and customers that ordered the Mother's Day brunch were getting their food quickly. My kids ordered the chocolate chip pancakes. One with game and one with sausage. My daughter is very picky with her pancakes and ate them all. I had the brunch. I had eggs Benedict, spinach omelette, ham and cheese omelette, bacon, fresh fruit, and two croissants. The food was delicious and fresh. However, I don't want to have to book a room 3 years in advance if this place gets really popular. With that said, Mary deserves the business and I like to see excellent venues succeed, so here we go! Booked a room here (Blue Notes,) while coming back for a friend's wedding. The house is beautifully appointed and very homey-feeling. (Would it be too weird to say that I kinda want Mary to adopt me? It's really that awesome here.) Special dietary requests (I'm vegan,) are graciously accepted, and Mary really went out of her way to accommodate me! Really, I'd have been happy with granola and almond milk, but she went the extra mile! One of the other ladies that was in the room next door likened the place to a college dorm -- which is sort of apt. No loud parties or obnoxious roommates to contend with, but it's a very congenial and lovely atmosphere overall! Can't say enough good things about this place!

My daughter and I were up for Admit Day at Colgate, and we stayed at this beautiful Bed and Breakfast just outside of town. Our room (the Ryan room) was immaculate and had a beautiful view of the property. We felt completely at home as logged into wifi and were able to watch TV in the living room. We slept well and Kevin (the owner) put out a great spread for continental breakfast in the morning. Kevin could not have been kinder or more generous. We would definitely stay there again if we visit Colgate in the future.

A wonderful place with wonderful people!…read more My parents had stayed here four years ago for parents weekend and had loved the place so much that they booked it right then and there for graduation weekend three and a half years later. Kevin and Leslie were wonderful hosts and catered to our every need be it food, cleaning, or making a warm fire. The property was spacious and beautiful with a large pond well stocked with fish and a hammock to rest on outside in the beautiful upstate air. The cabin itself was spacious and had all amenities you could imagine with a new grill, washing machines, and a great kitchen. Although we only stayed five days, I would recommend this a million times over and hope to come back again when I return to upstate New York and relive my collegiate past!
