Chicken Parmesan Sub
Kristen S.

I was reminded about this place by a local Facebook group. This is supposed to be a "little local gem" to the area. I've lived here 11 years and have never tried Roma's so we thought we'd give it a shot for dinner. We ordered through Door Dash and the food arrived rather promptly. We ordered a cup of cream of crab, cheesey garlic bread, a chicken Parmesan sub, and the shrimp Alfredo (with a side Cesar salad). The cream of crab soup is lack luster in flavor. There's very minimal seasoning to the soup base- zero sherry and topped with imported crab. Definitely NOT blue crab! The cheesy garlic bread is nothing to write home about not garlicky at all. The chicken parm sub had just enough sauce to make the bread pink, was bland, with almost no cheese and the bread was essentially burnt (1/2 he actually ate- not pictured). The Caesar salad? Yeah couldn't tell you. I didn't get one. The shrimp Alfredo was 7 large shrimp with the tails still on. And while yes I understand that this is "proper" plating in the restaurant world, can I tell you what a PAIN it is to cut them off when they are smothered in sauce? Now the sauce....not an Alfredo sauce this was merely a cream sauce with Italian seasoning. Not a hint of garlic nor can you taste any pecorino- romano cheese. I really had high hopes for this place unfortunately we were greatly disappointed. What a waste of $70. Doubtful we'll be back

Mushy, nasty Crab Cake from Roma's Seafood Cafe in Cockeysville full of Filler NO CRAB MEAT!

Roma's Seafood Cafe in Cockeysville quality of their food and service has gone down considerably. See pictures of the nasty, mushy crab cakes they sold me with all filler and no crabmeat. They also sold me greasy scallops one time which were supposed to be fried. They were greasy with no flavor and no breading. Their crab Imperial used to be delicious, now it's watery and buttery with no crabmeat. Do yourself a favor and save your money and time and go somewhere where you will receive quality food and service for your money.

Steak sub special.

I had the crispy Cobb salad with chicken tenders, and it was fantastic. The chicken was perfectly moist and flavorful, and the mixed greens and toppings were incredibly fresh. Every bite was delicious. My husband ordered the waffles and loved them just as much. What really elevated the experience was our server. She was knowledgeable about the menu, offered great recommendations, and made us feel genuinely taken care of. Her service made an already great meal even better. Great food, great service, and a wonderful overall experience. We'll absolutely be back! !

And I must say the food made me want to take another trip to Hunt Valley asap. Upon walking through the doors of Barrett's Grill you can admire the beautiful dining room space that was perfectly decorated for the holiday season. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive giving us time to mull over the menu a while. I ordered the Salmon BLT wrap with fries and was blown away by the flavor. The salmon was perfectly seasoned and blackened, and the peppered bacon was a great compliment. I typically ask for any type of sauces on the side, however, I forgot this time and was still happy with the honey mustard style sauce in the wrap. My dining companion ordered the fish of the day tacos, which was trout and she said they were really tasty. I will gladly say the Salmon BLT wrap at Barrett's is now one of my favorite bites and I actually would like to go back for another dining experience and to try some other menu items.

I was eager to peruse to see what tasty treat I could grab. Parking was plentiful, but busy. I suggest you go as early as possible to secure a hassle free experience parking and market wise. Upon entering, the convergence of scents hit at once: desserts, bbq, popcorn. I wasn't mad at all. Our first stop was the bbq kiosk where we purchased a rack of ribs and wings. They have a variety of mini markets and food vendors in the building: bbq, seafood, spices, bakery, pickles items, clothing, furniture, butcher, handmade crafts, fresh made pretzels, etc. They also had an area to sit and enjoy your food purchases. We also picked up a half of a coconut cake, a slice of strawberry cheesecake, some apple butter and blackberry jam, and as we exited we got the glazed almonds and cashews. This place seems big, but it is manageable to walk around and check out all of the vendors. Upon tasting, our ribs were good: perfectly seasoned and fresh; the wings were rotisserie roasted and were good as well; the cake was just ok for us fresh with coconut flakes held on by white buttercream; the strawberry cheesecake was just ok; the glazed nuts were good as well. All in all, a nice market to visit for fresh, homemade food and unique crafts/gifts.

I loved the space created for the event and I appreciated the warmth from the heat lamps. Service was great. The bartenders were excellent. The drinks were delicious (I had the Blackberry Bourbon Smash and the Cider Margarita and I think the margarita was my favorite of the two). I gave 3 stars because of the food. I was overwhelmed with the taste of the selection. I enjoyed the shrimp cocktail and the pulled pork sliders the best. The Greek pasta salad and the pretzels weren't too bad. The chicken tenders needed salt in the cooking process because they were bland and the honey mustard didn't do any favors. The crab dip was disappointing. I've had their crab dip before and I liked it but this time, it just tasted off. I feel like I tasted more cream cheese than crab. For this shindig, the drinks were the clear winner. The food was basically there to soak up the liquor because I didn't enjoy it. I wanted to love it but my taste buds were very sad.

Date: April 25, 2026…read more I visited Papas (Side Bar) on April 25, 2026, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. First, the food quality has declined compared to my previous visits over the years. I have been a loyal customer for a long time, and what I received was not consistent with how the dish has been prepared before. When I politely asked the server (Katie) to take the plate back because it was not as expected, she became upset and responded in an unprofessional manner. She questioned what was wrong and stated that the dish would come out of her check. I calmly explained that I have been coming here for many years and that the preparation was different from before. Her response was inappropriate--she mentioned that "Mr. Papas died in November," which I found disrespectful and unnecessary. Regardless of any internal changes, this is not something that should be communicated to a customer in that manner. I then asked to speak with a manager and explained the situation. Unfortunately, the server continued to behave rudely while I was addressing the issue. This experience did not reflect professionalism, respect for customers, or the standards I had come to expect from your establishment. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve both service and customer experience moving forward.
