We always enjoy coming to Roma's for the consistently delicious food and excellent service. Tonight was no different. My husband enjoyed a generous portion of Chicken Marsala over linguine. It was loaded with chicken and had a delectable sauce. I was in the mood for an Italian Cold Cut sub. It was on the softest roll and stuffed with all of the Italian meats and cheeses. The only thing that would have made it better would have been some Italian dressing on it. Our friends were completely blown away by their choices. They ordered the Manicotti and Lasagna that came with garlic bread. Their portions were enormous. They had enough for another meal. We were all so pleased with our dinners. read more

My husband & I were from out of town. We were looking for something to eat & found this gem. It was hard to find. It's at the back of a tire place. We drove around twice & missed it. Ended up driving slowly through Mr. Tires parking lot & THEN saw the sign for it in the next driveway. Well worth the hassle. Great food, wonderful people. I highly recommend this place. I was reminded about this place by a local Facebook group. This is supposed to be a "little local gem" to the area. I've lived here 11 years and have never tried Roma's so we thought we'd give it a shot for dinner. We ordered through Door Dash and the food arrived rather promptly. We ordered a cup of cream of crab, cheesey garlic bread, a chicken Parmesan sub, and the shrimp Alfredo (with a side Cesar salad). The cream of crab soup is lack luster in flavor. There's very minimal seasoning to the soup base- zero sherry and topped with imported crab. Definitely NOT blue crab! The cheesy garlic bread is nothing to write home about not garlicky at all. The chicken parm sub had just enough sauce to make the bread pink, was bland, with almost no cheese and the bread was essentially burnt (1/2 he actually ate- not pictured). The Caesar salad? Yeah couldn't tell you. I didn't get one. The shrimp Alfredo was 7 large shrimp with the tails still on. And while yes I understand that this is "proper" plating in the restaurant world, can I tell you what a PAIN it is to cut them off when they are smothered in sauce? Now the sauce....not an Alfredo sauce this was merely a cream sauce with Italian seasoning. Not a hint of garlic nor can you taste any pecorino- romano cheese. Inconsistent food. Use 2 different types of mozzarella sticks, one very good the other very poor but do not specify which one they are using. Subs can either be very good or very bad. Picked my food up on time and the bread on the sub was inedible as it was complete mush and the sub was falling apart. I ordered through Grubhub Order #36342451-6091274 and was very disappointed in the quality of the meal I ordered. I have never visited this cafe before but I ordered a baked potato and a crabcake. The potato was so small that it could be put inside a small side to go container with room for two dinner rolls. The potato was obviously past it's prime. When I cut into it there was a brown eyespot, and the potato must have sprouted because I accidentally bit down on a bud. My second side was broccoli and the spears were oversized and under steamed. They were very hard to the bite and also past their prime. I know from my own experience broccoli can change color when prepared but the three different shades of puce were off putting. No vibrant greens that indicate fresh vegetables here. The main dish was the crab cake and while the size was decent the crabcake itself was full of filler meat, shells, and bread. I didn't even finish the meal. All in all I would never order here again and honestly would like to be refunded. I know that isn't possible so instead I chose to leave this honest review of the food. I have never been inside the establishment. I am sure the staff and owners are delightful, however the food certainly was not. The cost was fair had the food been of better quality, but for what I got the $20 seems excessive. read more

Roma's Seafood Cafe in Cockeysville quality of their food and service has gone down considerably. See pictures of the nasty, mushy crab cakes they sold me with all filler and no crabmeat. They also sold me greasy scallops one time which were supposed to be fried. They were greasy with no flavor and no breading. Their crab Imperial used to be delicious, now it's watery and buttery with no crabmeat. Do yourself a favor and save your money and time and go somewhere where you will receive quality food and service for your money. read more

Ordered some carryout to have for dinner in our hotel room during a couple day stay in Cockeysville, and it was a good choice. My wife had just had surgery and wanted something light, so she went with the grilled cheese sandwich (good) and chicken noodle soup (very good). I had the MD crab soup and meatball sub, both which were very good. We also had an order of onion rings, which were average. prices were good, and they do a good job with their Covid protocol (I saw masks on every employee, including the kitchen), which I appreciated. Ordered stuffed mushroom caps, lasagna with sausage added, bacon cheeseburger sub with everything, and an order of hot wings. Carry out food is NOT supposed to be this quality, especially at this price!!! Everything was absolutely on point, and better than most restaurants that would charge a multiple of this price point. Let's start with the Caps. Essentially comes the size of a restaurant imperial which tastes of the freshest domestic lump and outstanding sauce on top what tastes like baby Bella's. Wowsa. Wings. Tasty (not just Franks) and freshly melt in your mouth. Who woulda thunk? Bacon cheeseburger sub. Tastes perfectly charbroiled with great roll and fresh toppings. And the lasagna is better than 90% of what I've had at restaurants, INCLUDING little Italy, Rome and Florence!!! Everything fresh, depth of taste and texture, and ridiculously low priced. I've been trying out local pizza places in the area, and this place BY far has the best pizza that I've had in this area. The delivery guy was super quick with my order. Pizza and onion rings were delicious. The pizza was done perfectly and the sauce had a level of sweetness to it. Not too sweet. Onion rings were a little on the soggy side, but that was on me for waiting a while before eating them. I will definitely be ordering from here again. read more

The atmosphere is quiet and very clean. Eat in is quite nice looking, and you go to the back to order for take out. I must say, the food is excellent here, a little pricey, but since the pandemic, everybody has to raise there prices. Probably why my order was messed up. Entrance as hideous as was the decor - just clean it up guys! Hidden discrete location off the main road - surprised they are still popular with all of the food choices. Yelp photos looked good, but they had way too large of a menu. Going to keep my original rating because I think the seafood quality alone justifies it, but I do want to warn people to avoid ordering the steaks here. I think it should come as common sense given how suspiciously low the price points are for premium cuts like "New York Strip" ($16) and "Filet Mignon" ($20) as well as the fact that this restaurant primarily specializes in Mediterranean cuisine (as opposed to being a steakhouse), but I did ultimately order both on separate occasions out of curiosity to see if they would be any good. Unfortunately, they were both pretty flavorless and dry, and it only reaffirmed my original doubts about them actually being the cuts listed on the menu. There's the saying "you get what you paid for," but bad/cheap steaks have almost never been worth their price in my experience (after all, why spend money to eat low quality food when I could make low quality food for cheaper at home :P). I really don't want to be too mean here because I think the restaurant is overall a nice place with friendly staff and other great menu options, but I just cannot vouch for the steaks. If any of the restaurant managers/owners/chiefs are reading this, I would suggest taking the steaks off your menu. I do not know how much money the restaurant makes from serving them, but I can't imagine it's more than the money you'd get from happy returning customers (such as myself, but I probably wouldn't have been if my first time ordering was the steaks) as well as the money saved from just not needing to supply these beef cuts. Restaurants 90% of the time are going to be judged by first impressions, and if a first time customer orders one of these cheap steaks, they'll think the rest of the menu options are similar quality (which I know from tasting the other menu items, is definitely not the case). Just trying to be as constructive as possible here, but if anyone feels differently about the steaks please reply to this. They definitely pack the food on and the sauce that's used has a very unique flavor, but the uniqueness is really good. I am a person with a disability and can only walk short distances using two canes, so carrying things is difficult many times. I use a mobility scooter for long distances and long periods of times. I am no longer able to just jump in and out of my vehicle to run into an establishment for anything. I am in a great deal of pain with every step I take and move I make. I say all this as a matter of explanation which I owe to no one, since I should not have to explain my conditions to anyone operating an establishment such as a restaurant that serves nourishment to patrons. I say this because I lament the lost value of customer service -- to anyone -- much less someone with disabilities. I receive this kind service from many establishments around town. There are three that give me a hard time, another used to but is now ok about it. Some months ago, I went to Roma's one evening, called and explained I use a wheelchair, and asked if they/he would bring my order to my van --parked directly outside the entrance -- when it was ready, and I would pay with exact cash. The gentleman came to the door, opened it, looked at me in my van, and said no, he would not be able to do that for me. He came as far as the door without a food order. He could have come 10 more feet WITH one and I'd be writing a nice piece instead of a negative review. I wanted to try this restaurant, but was denied the kindness of a little extra service. I have not been back since and am not likely to go back anytime soon. read more

Great food, great service. However, I recently had a strange experience. We arrived at 1:15 for lunch--on the LUNCH board menu, they listed stuffed rockfish-great--I ordered. The server asked me what sides I wanted so I ordered 2 sides. The bill came and the price of the rockfish went from $12.99 (on lunch board) to $19.99-$7/difference. When I questioned the server, he said "Well you ordered the dinner portion"--What?--Apparently, because I had 2 sides. The 2 sides were offered to me---Why would I order a dinner portion when I was there at lunch? It seemed odd. I decided not to fight the issue--tough times for restaurants --I figured this would be a donation-However, watch when you order at lunch to verify that this is the lunch option. read more

The place is tucked away off of York Rd and not easy to spot but if you can see the Jiffy Lube just north of Warren Rd you will find it. Roma shares a parking lot with them. The place was not too busy and appeared to be mostly regulars. To say that they are in need of some renovations is putting it mildly. It's kind of a mish-mosh of stuff with space made for a TV, a carry out area, etc. Cleanliness is not top on the list from the appearance of the restaurant and especially the restrooms. I had ordered for two of us and upon returning to the office was when we discovered that the italian cold cut had cheap meats - poor quality. I was not expecting an authentic Italian hogie, but come on. There was bologna, cooked ham, and what appeared to be some type of wanna be salami. Where is the parma cotto or the soppressata or some spicy coppa??? It was an over salty bust! The house salad was basic; iceberg lettuce, cucumber, cherry tomato and croutons. Pizza was good but a bit on the salty side. Perhaps they are trying to offer to vast a menu since the have anything from salads and sandwiches to steak and fish entrees.
