Ok, ok. I may be biased in my 5-star rating because I work at The Andalusia Bookman shop, but trust…read moreme, I'm not. I simply love great rare books, collections of ephemera, and places that make you feel at home -- you get all this and more, here. Walk-ins aren't welcome just yet, so please call for an appointment, but once you visit it may become a routine like it has for so many others.. At the shop you'll find: over 60,000 items, specializing in 19th and 18th c. illustrated books, chromolithos, Philadelphiana, rare anthropology, early hermeneutics, Natural history, first editions, signed items, Beat lit, '60's material, unusual occult, erotica and esoterica. We have a vast collection of ephemera, art work (steel engravings, pouchoir, collotype), movie posters (of the 1940's - 50's) and a mass of important 19th c. bound periodicals (Oology to Archeology, Mathematics, Botany, Knitting), and 20th c. Art journals, Italian Fascist publications, etc., culled from Walter J. Johnson's liquidation, as well as a collection rare jazz records. And much more, just ask. Dave has been in business for twenty-five years in the incarnations of David L. Miller Rare Books, The Book Merchants, the Philadelphia's Riverside Book Fair and 30th Street Station Book Fair. In 1991 we purchased the business, name and stock of Samuel Kleinman's legendary Schuylkill Book and Curio Shop of 4207 Lancaster Ave., Phila. PA. Thanks for reading, and give us a call to check out the shop!

More like Barnes and "Nope!" Came in for a book. Left with rage and a lukewarm $7 latte…read more First off, the "customer service" is a scavenger hunt where the prize is being ignored. I asked an employee where to find romantasy. She blinked twice, muttered something about "over there," and vanished like a ghost in a YA novel. The café? I ordered a cappuccino. What I got was dishwater wearing a foam hat. Also, it took **20 minutes**. There were three baristas, and all of them appeared to be arguing over who was least qualified to use the espresso machine. To top it off, the cashier line was run by a group of sloths on a lunch break. Moral of the story? Support your local indie bookstores. At least there, when you're lost, someone helps you without sighing.

Pleasantly surprised with my experience at this Barnes & Noble! I travel a lot for work and finding…read moreplaces that are quiet with great coffee, snacks, and ambiance are rare. The layout of the Barnes was great. In the center of the store is the cafe with plenty of seating all around, which is needed because this place always seemed to be busy (for a bookstore). I was genuinely comfortable and felt like I could get my work done with little distraction outside of hushed conversation and coffee making in the background. The store itself was very clean and neat. I had no idea Barnes & Noble started selling Vinyl records which, I admittedly don't collect, but was great to see they're trying to adapt to popular culture and stay relevant in an era of iTunes and other digital purchasing platforms. Another standout was the cleanliness of the bathroom and attentiveness of the staff. I always saw someone walking around picking things up, asking if someone needed help and checking the bathrooms. Overall my favorite spot to get some afternoon work done while visiting Moorestown, NJ. Maybe you'll see me in there one day! If so, stop and say hi!

Always love stopping in and trading in books at the end of my semester for store credit. I usually…read moreturn that right around and get new novels for the next semester. Owner is sooo friendly and very intelligent! She is always helpful when asked and happy to talk about literature or family. Books are priced fair, and it's always worth turning in some books for store credit, their system is perfect for a revolving door of patronage. Always a lovely time here!

I have shopped in many used bookstores in the Philadelphia/New Jersey/Delaware Valley area, and…read morethis was the worst customer service I have experienced! The woman working there was not very friendly, and when I first "found" her (she was not visible, and I said, "Hello, is anybody here?", to which she did not reply), she acted as if I was bothering her. She asked me what genres I was interested in, went and pointed out where a few were, and then left me. She was then talking to a regular customer, and seemed more interested in "gabbing" with him. There was no explanation from her of their pricing scheme, and since she was chatting with that customer, I felt like I should ask another customer, who was nice enough to explain it. I guess that I was spoiled by Labyrinth Books the day before when I was in Princeton, which gave me excellent customer service from every employee there that I came in contact with - probably the best I've ever had! I plan to return to the area, but I will never come back here.
