This store is adorable! They have so many books, so many sections and subsections! There is parking in the front, and elsewhere around the little strip area of shops. If you pull in, you do end up backing onto a busy road so leave with caution. As I said, they have a great selection. There are four rooms of boons, each section is clearly labeled and occasional thematic decor. There are also occasional benches so you can sit and debate which books you want to "adopt". They're used, but gently and each has a price lower then the face value written inside. They also have the largest selection of Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys I've ever seen. So glad we finally found a unique used bookstore within the bucks county area. Our goal was to trade books from our collection and replace with new used books. Second Time books in Mt. Laurel near Rancocas woods is a fantastic shop. Whether you are looking for fantasy, history, classics, or kids books, this bookish shop has it all. All the booksellers are extremely nice and courteous too. When the pandemic first began I went looking for some new bookish stomping grounds to bolster my history collection and found this gem of a shop. Since then it has become a sort of monthly oasis for me. Most, if not all the hardcovers are Mylar wrapped and 99% of the books are in great condition, some are new, but reduced in price and hardly any remainder marks. I recommend following them on Instagram with your notifications on, as something you may have been waiting for just may appear there and be sold before you get your hands on it. They have an epic room devoted to fantasy, sci-fi, classics, poetry, plays, with some literary biography and literary criticism mixed in. A good sized kids section in the back brimming with classics that most Adults have grew up reading with newer reads too. The history section is large, well organized, and turnover is frequent enough so that once a month I see something new. read more

I love this store! Southern NJ is not exactly a haven for independent book stores. This one is so well curated you will find plenty of good stuff you have never heard of as well as deep cuts from favorite authors. Prices? There is a dollar cart for the perennial NYT best sellers. What I learned when I decided 8 bucks was too much to pay for a used book was that when I tried to buy it at the online (Thrift, Half-Price) that this place is under market value and I ran back the next day to grab it. It's a place to linger. And a great location to walk and wander with a killer pastry/coffee place (with a clean bathroom) in which to crack open your new book inside or out. A treasure. read more

Awesome book store. Shopped all the stores today. Mixture of high quality crafts, antiques ect. Mexican restaurant is so good. Bj's deli is our go to for hoagies. This picture I took today. It's hard to restrain myself at the New Jersey bookcase: there are tons of hard-to-find books and obscure pamphlets about hyper-local history. If you're in the market for a first-edition Henry Charlton Beck or Henry Bisbee volume, this is the place to go. They'e also one of the few places in the area that reliably stocks SoJourn. Found this gem while tooling around New Jersey with my sister and her two daughters and we all loved it instantly! As avid readers, we were all very impressed with the volume and diversity of their written selections and the staff were remarkably helpful as we looked for particular authors or titles. We walked away with nearly 20 books between the 4 of us (I think 7 of them were mine). This bookshop consists of two separate buildings, each with different types of books, and both are very impressively stocked. You couldn't ask for a better bookshop or nicer staff, so if you find yourself in the area, please drop and do some shopping; we need to keep bookshops alive! read more

Second Time Books is a book lover's dream. The store itself is warm and welcoming and their stock is quite diverse. Prices are great, too - I visited with one friend who buys lots of books (especially hardbacks) and he was almost confused at the great deals he found at Second Time. The crown jewel, though, is Jim the owner and his staff. You'd be hard-pressed to find someone who's as committed to helping people as Jim, and the loyal customers I've seen in the store are a testament to that fact. The location is a little tucked away in the Rancocas Woods area of Mount Laurel so you may not find yourself in the area too often, but the store is well worth taking the time to make a special trip. Yikes, book hoarder! Overwhelmingly crowded and prices WAY too high for used books! Save your money and try on-line where you can buy probably the same books for a whole lot less and find what you want much easier.
