I had created a Delaware C corporation for my tech startup a year ago and only recently started getting back to building the business and technology in full force. I had never consulted a business lawyer about the corporation entity, so I had a lot of remaining questions. After speaking with Shamila on the phone, I was able to set up a meeting with Domenic just a couple days later. After resolving my immediate franchise tax issues, Domenic used the rest of the meeting to answer all my questions about my corporation. He shed light on all the various types of corporations and business entities, including what works best for any given situation. He also confirmed my suspicions that my entity's setup was not as efficient as it could be, and offered suggestions and action items to fix it. These suggestions have helped so much, and will do wonders in the long run. One of my favorite things about Domenic is his honesty. He makes it clear if you're starting to tread into waters that don't fall under his main expertise. I contacted Romano Law a while back for a consultation and spoke to Domenic Romano. He was extremely rude and terse, like he couldn't be bothered, interrupted me every two seconds and dismissed everything I said. Very presumptuous and acted like he knew more about my case than I did. When I politely tried to clarify/correct him about his misconceptions about MY case he accused me of being a know-it-all. Domenic Romano is extremely arrogant, rude, and unprofessional. I was later referred by the secretary to another attorney who was able to get me a favorable settlement. I do not recommend Romano Law. I hired them after reading reviews, but unfortunately, had a very negative experience. I hired them to help with an employment issue. I found Domenic very nice and even sympathetic. That was before he accepted my payment (he even talked about his Canadian hospitality). Post payment it was hard to get him on the phone, and he was curt to the point that he missed a key component of my case. This resulted in a lower settlement. He then blamed/bullied me about the point. The second problem is the business model. To save the client money, they let Jr. people do certain work. This sounds good in theory and I'm sure it works if executed properly, but I dealt with three different people and I think that's why a key piece of my case fell through the cracks. I did not feel like they were fighting for me. Since I was paying on an hourly basis (I recommend not doing this) there was no incentive, beyond professional ethics, for him to fight for me. I wrote Domenic a polite letter to give him an opportunity to respond and rectify but he did not - he had a junior lawyer call me with the corporate line. If you want to learn more about the firm, look at the Glassdoor review (where employees give their experience). I would suggest that they way one treats his employees is the way he will treat customers. In summary, they may be competent and smart people, and I even liked the work of the junior lawyer, but unless they think they have an incentive to help you, you will be pushed to the bottom of the barrel. I suggest hiring a single proprietor who will give you their full attention and who will treat you with the respect a client should be accorded. read more
