Referred to Dr. Spinazze for possible TMJ problem, from my regular dentist. Went for visit, paid…read morefor total cost, evaluation of lower left jaw completed, determined no TMJ issue. When Dr. Spinazze coded the work performed, he coded it as a "complete examination" - and noted on the bottom of the submission that he only evaluated my lower left jaw. But because of the coding, my insurance declined to pay for my regular dentist's "examination" due to too many exams in a 12 month period. Spoke with insurance company who referred me back to Dr. Spinazze. The Doctor refused to resubmit a claim as he felt that his note of only evaluating the lower left jaw was sufficient. So I now I have to pay, without insurance, a true "examination" - cavities, gum issues, loose or cracked teeth, loose fillings, status of crown, etc. with my regular dentist. Felt very disappointed with service from Dr. Spinazze that he and his office staff would not try to understand or appreciate my dilemma, refused to work with insurance company with the details and essentially "left me standing". I will not return to this practice. Unfortunate, but true. I've even written to my regular dentist to explain and suggest not referring patients to Dr. Spinazze.

If you start researching tongue ties chances are you'll come across Dr. Geivelis because he's…read moreextremely well known in the "tongue tie" field. I didn't realize my kids had them as babies so he took care of 2 out of 3 of them when they were older (11 and 7 years olds). He referred my middle to an ENT by the name of Dr. Walner since he needed his adenoids out at the same time. Dr. Geivelis is so well known for this that there's an extremely large waitlist, especially if you want to get it done with anesthesia, which I personally think is a must for anyone who isn't a baby. It took about 8 months to get in from initial appointment for the actual procedure. Lori from Dr. G's office does a great job of keeping you informed along the way with everything from billing, preparing for surgery, meds to take after, etc. I think it's way easier for babies, but this is quite the ordeal if you have the procedure as an older child or an adult. First we spent months in myofunctional speech therapy to prepare for the procedure. The procedure day is far from fun, but I think mostly because my kids woke up really upset from the anesthesia. From there it's a few days of discomfort and after 3 days they are feeling back to normal. However, you're required to do a series of stretches so that the lip/tongue doesn't reattached at least 4 times a day. The kids get used to them after a few days, but my husband and I found them to be a huge pain...especially in the middle of the school day. The main reason we went ahead with the procedure was because all 3 of my kids are/were in speech therapy. I did see a difference right away in my middle son who went to Dr. Walner (we found that recovery to be way easier too). He was actually released from years of speech therapy the very next week. I haven't noticed as much of a difference with my daughter who had the procedure done over a year ago with Dr. G. And my youngest is who I was hoping to notice the biggest difference. He's also in the middle of years of expansion with Dr. Boyd, who Dr. G tends to work very closely with. It's been a few months since the procedure and we can definitely tell a difference (as can his speech therapists- both private and thru school) since he's able to produce clearer sounds now that he has more movement of his tongue. Overall, I"m glad we did it and found Dr. G to be warm and informative. If going the pediatric dentist route (over an ENT) I would definitely recommend him.

My 12-day old son saw Dr. Geivelis for tongue and mouth tie releases. From the moment you inquire…read moreabout scheduling, you are provided with ample information to prepare you and proves that they take the procedure and its success seriously. As a first-time mom, I did not feel worried about the procedure after meeting Dr. and his staff. From the office staff to his assistant, Sheri, everyone has been helpful and honest. My son is now more relaxed and can latch for breastfeeding! Only tears of joy when I think about the gratitude we have for this establishment. Thank you does not suffice.

A terrific physician! An easy and confident air. Easily explains complex problems and solutions. I…read morehad an aged-out molar which previously had had a root canal. A very complex extraction as these teeth are known to be brittle and the tooth pretty much shattered during the process. Then he discovered an abscess. He removed the tooth, cleaned out the infection and a stitched the surgical site closed. His post operative explanation of expectations proved spot on. I would never hesitate to see Dr. Chin in the future. GO BLUE! Oh, I almost forgot; his staff are awesome and his two assistants during my procedure were obviously trained up well and very professional. AND ... Dr. Chin called me personally the next day to check in and see how I was doing.

I called to make an appointment and was happy to have a choice of two offices- choosing the office near me, located in Water Tower in Chicago. The entire staff is very nice- especially Eva, and Dr. Chin was immediately able to put my mind at ease after examining me and carefully explaining what the abscess most likely was and what the process was to diagnose my issue. I liked that Dr. Chin didn't talk down to me, but made me feel like a partner in the process. After my surgery, (which went as expected for Dr. Chin, but MUCH BETTER THAN EXPECTED for me- I hardly took any pain meds), I healed very quickly. There was only a bit of unexpected news regarding my tooth underneath the gum which we are watching, but again, I am "partnering" with Dr. Chin in watching the tooth carefully to ensure it's continued viability. Followup appointments went smoothly as well- especially the One during the height of COVID-19 pandemic. As a person with many health problems, I realize that gum care can translate into problems with my diabetes and my heart. I need a sharp professional like Dr. Chin and his wonderful staff on my side to stay healthy for the long run.
