Ashley converted my straightforward intake into an in-person interrogation-style interview. Taylor then withheld permission for Ashley to schedule my actual intake appointment, pushing my care back two full weeks. For someone seeking mental health support, two weeks is not a minor inconvenience. It can feel like an eternity. What troubles me most is the question this raises: if a facility cannot follow well-established federal disability law, one of the most basic legal protections afforded to people with disabilities, what confidence can patients have that other standards of care are being upheld? A mental health facility should be a place of safety, dignity, and compassion. What I experienced was the opposite. Although Redpoint presents itself as treating both mental health and substance use, my experience was that much of the curriculum and treatment approach felt heavily centered around substance use. As someone dealing with mental health concerns rather than substance use, I often felt that the programming was not well aligned with what I actually needed. What was particularly disappointing was reaching a point where I needed additional support and being told that residential treatment was the appropriate level of care, despite being unable to pursue residential at this time. Rather than feeling supported in finding an alternative level of care that addressed my mental health needs, I felt abandoned by a program and community I had trusted. Mental health treatment needs to recognize that not every person struggling is struggling with substance use. The distinction matters, and treatment should feel individualized rather than built primarily around one population. Based on my experience, I would encourage someone seeking treatment solely for mental health to carefully consider whether Redpoint's approach and curriculum are actually suited to their needs before enrolling.

He and his attorney requested Dr. Thomas. I read reviews that warned of a bias towards men even in cases of DV. My attorney said I shouldn't be too concerned about a couple bad reviews, and advised it was likely that it was a disgruntled person that lost her case. I am here to tell you, in spite of Dr. Thomas' evaluation, I did NOT lose my case. At this time the children and I are doing extremely well and they are thriving. Her report was biased towards the children's father. His empty promises and what is best 'in most cases' weighed more than the facts. My words were twisted and manipulated even to the point that in several instances his bad behavior was deferred onto me as if I was the one behaving poorly. Her report was also supposed to give a professional opinion regarding the relocation. It was completely inconclusive - it had provisions for both staying and relocating, but no opinion (which is what we paid for) as to which option was truly in the best interest of these children in this case. In the end - I spent several months and paid several thousand dollars for NOTHING. Her "services" were a waste of time and money, and the report is not worth the paper it was printed on!
