The UC health front desk/scheduling system is about as fun as watching paint dry. After a host of issues at the Lone Tree office, they (Lone Tree) submitted a referral to the endocrinology center to further investigate a potential thyroid issue. That referral was submitted 7/30. I went on vacation so I called Shauna on 8/8. She said the referral was still pending and it would probably take a week/ be done in a couple of days. Sounds good, so I called again on 8/12 and spoke to Paige. Still the same response "it's still pending for some reason." Kind of a long time for a referral but hey, idk maybe technical difficulties. The Pavilion called me on 8/14 and left a voicemail. I couldn't get to it and they called me again on 8/19. I called them back probably about a half hour later as I was driving and I was told that I had to speak with Candace, and she was busy on another call. No worries though, she would call me back shortly. I heard nothing the rest of the day so I called back again the next day 8/20. I spoke with a different representative who again for some reason couldn't help me and it had to be Candace. I don't know if Candace is the specific doctor they are trying to schedule me with, or if she is the head front desk lady. The second call the man told me that it takes about 2 business days to get a response; I should get a call back before the end of the week. Well as of 8/30 I have received nothing. No call, no text, not even a message off of the portal. I don't know if it's the front desk not being trained, or if it is a system issue, but to me it shouldn't take a month to JUST GET A CALL FOR AN APPOINTMENT. It's a shame because the UC health doctors seem to be a great quality, but apparently that's where UC health blew their budget and left nothing for the front desk.

She was clearly very well prepared and had thoroughly reviewed my chart ahead of time. She asked thoughtful follow-up questions, listened carefully to my concerns, and worked with me to develop a clear plan moving forward. Dr. Rothman took her time and did not make me feel rushed which is rare these days, unfortunately. I appreciated her attentiveness, professionalism, and the quality of her recommendations. I left the appointment feeling heard, informed, and confident about next steps. I highly recommend Dr. Rothman without hesitation.

I have had Type 1 diabetes for 26 years and have Graves Disease with thyroidectomy and hypoparathyroidism. I wear a pump and a CGM. Needless to say, I have had lots of experience with endocrinologists and doctors in general and Dr. Rothman may very well be the best one I have ever worked with. She always remembers me and looks at her past notes before coming in to the room. She always asks, listens to, and values my opinions. She looks to help minimize insurance costs and unnecessary tests or appts and is always prompt to respond to emails through the secure health portal. My A1C has improved from 8+ to 6.5 while working with the clinic. She is positive and encouraging, even when my blood sugars are not as good as they should be. I actually look forward to visits with Dr. Rothman - it feels like visiting with an old friend (while sharing waay too much medical information :) ) In addition to seeing Dr. Rothman I also work with a diabetic educator. I am probably overly critical but have had mixed experiences with the educators and now work only with Jenny Madrid, who is equally wonderful and encouraging and offers creative solutions to improving my blood sugars without being pushy. I had a chance to switch to Kaiser insurance this year for better benefits but stayed with United just to keep this team.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH Dr. Roper ‼ I was supposed to share this weeks ago when it happened so no…read moreone else would have to experience this especially if you're planning a home birth in Denver. My husband & I have been trying to put together a team of OB/doula/midwife for the home birth of our first baby. We found an amazing Ethiopian doula here in Denver at around 8 weeks & finally found a midwife we adore a few weeks ago. In between us meeting and hiring our doula & midwife, we scheduled an OB appointment, you know, just to see who all is out there. We scheduled an appointment with an OBGYN who I had seen was recommended in several FB groups for parents wanting black birthing professionals. The only red flag was that a few ppl said that the doctor was very judgmental...still excited for the appointment nonetheless. She was so booked up that we only got to see her at our 13 week visit because someone canceled. When I tell you that THAT was the worst doctor experience of my life. First off, she was dismissive of our questions & commentary. Her phone kept ringing, at least 3 times during the appointment & she answered it each time without so much as an excuse me. She rushed thru the ultrasound so we couldn't get a clear picture of the baby. MIND YOU, Before going into our appointment, I already knew not to share that we were planning a home birth. First because I've worked in a hospital before & second, that red flag I mentioned from earlier. My husband made the mistake of asking if we should still see her AND our midwife if we're planning a home birth. BAYBEH, she went left. Talking down on home births & how she'd never recommend anyone give birth at home & how she'd be so pissed if her husband or any of her kids even suggested it. Didn't give any facts, stats, or statistics, just her personal take on home births. Big turn off for me. Then she locked eyes with me & goes "I'd flip if my husband even suggested a home birth" as if to shift the blame to my husband & make him out to be some kind of caveman forcing me to birth at home. THEN to add insult to injury, we were supposed to do genetic testing that day. They even made SURE that I spent an hour plus on the phone with insurance to make sure the test was covered. Just for them to send us to the wrong lab where we waited for 40 minutes before they called us to come back to the office. The nurse was very sweet, but she stuck me 4 times, spilled some of my blood. JUST for us to receive an email a week later saying we needed to come in for a redraw because there wasn't enough blood sample. Long story short, my husband wouldn't start the car & leave after until I cried & vented cuz he knew how pissed I was. Thankfully, never going back. The rest of her staff were sweet, it was really just her
