    Burrata

FOOD: The food was all around delicious! I recommend the burrata appetizer SO GOOD with especially with their peta bread! As far as the pastas go they weren't anything crazy, I would get something different next time. My bfs pizza was good! It was different and fully of flavor! He also added hot honey on it! The only thing was that they were out of a couple menu items which was a little annoying. SERVICE: Everyone there was super nice and attentive, the service all around was good, but we also went around 5 with was a dead time too! AMBIANCE: [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibes were really nice. More of an upscale place but not too too fancy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Depending on where you were sitting you were able to see the pizza oven which was cool![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Interesting place. Very nice Christmas set up in the bar area. Some lights were out throughout the restaurant and the walls were pretty scuffed up. Very cool brick oven for pizzas in the kitchen. Restroom facilities needed some work. Service was wonderful. However, the menu had some items listed that were technically no longer on the menu which was a little disappointing. The food was okay for what was ordered. I would definitely come back for lunch and grab a salad and maybe some wine.

Food... 8/10 veal pasta dish, goat cheese dip and sweet Caroline pizza.. Zoe,,, our waitress... 1/10 had a dick drawn/tattooed on her forearm. Roll your sleeves down. Took 5 minutes to get her to take drinks... then tried to walk away. We had to prompt for our appetizer... goat cheese dip. Again ... once the appetizer was delivered she tried to walk away again... dude... we are ready to place our order, probably like half of America once the appetizer is put on the table. Ask us if we are ready. Literally didn't want to work. She was back messing around with 3 other servers by the kitchen. One of the guys grabbed her arm and acted like he was eating it. She literally was so far away for so long I was just watching her to hopefully get her attention. This is why nobody wants to tip anymore... you would've got more if you "served" us. Like servers do. That's how I did it before I got out of the restaurant industry, I served my guests

The place was amazing! We got the lasagna bolognese and the Neopolitan pizza and is very so good! I'd definitely go back. Great atmosphere and good was great.

Caprese Salad This is their idea of a caprese salad. It was flavorless and disgusting.

I'm not sure what to say about Romacelli other than the owners, managers and line cook should be utterly embarrassed by their food. What I received from them was not fit for human consumption. I ordered from here without any expectations of getting a fabulous meal.I hoped, at most, for something decent for dinner. What I received was like nothing I had seen or smelled before. The Brussels sprouts were burnt to a crisp, very greasy, somewhat slimy and even had what appeared to be the scrapings from the bottom of a pan mixed in them. See picture below. I didn't dare try them. They were simply too unappetizing. The caprese salad consisted of two slices mozzarella cheese topped with mushy slices of tomatoes, drenched in a liquid that I could only assume was olive oil purchased from Dollar Tree. The liquid substance poured on to the cheese slices looked like it had shavings of brown mowed grass in it. I didn't try this mess either. I was afraid of what the brown shavings were. Disgusting. I also ordered pasta and meatballs. Since this was the only item of the three that looked like it may be edible, I decided to give it a try. I suppose whoever put this particular meal together didn't want to break the trend of nastiness they had going because the pasta and meatballs were equally disgusting as the rest. The meatballs were so old they were flaky in the center. Imagine biting into a meatball and it crumbles like corn flakes in your mouth. I was grateful I was at home trying this garbage for the first time because I had to spit the food out of mouth to avoid vomiting. The entire meal, if you can call this that, was utterly disgusting. The only thing Romacelli has going for it is the location. And let's be honest, even that's a bit of a disaster. The parking is, well there is no parking. You will drive around, get frustrated, park wherever you can, walk to the restaurant and prepare yourself for something that I can only describe as the worst food I've ever eaten. The absolute worst. Is it possible to give negative stars? If so, I'll give Romacelli negative 5 stars.

Their burrata is to die for. All I had was their burrata appetizer with their primadonna vodka martini and I was so very satisfied. Romacelli has become one of my top two favorite places to eat in Lafayette. Also, if you are someone to look for atmosphere or a "vibe"... Romacelli is most definitely your place. Good food and is so beautiful inside with outside seating. Would go back.

Yes, it was crowded, but that's a healthy sign! In fact, we were lucky enough to find a parking space in the lot. From antipasto to dessert everything was top notch. So, we went to Italy and came back changed people. In fact, I started making my own pasta being inspired by what I experienced. There is a tremendous difference between fresh and shelf. We finally made it back to Sarrica's last Saturday, and I don't know how one could be more impressed, but they did it again! We got there early and immediately got a table. A half hour later the place was getting packed. We went straight to the Primo skipping the antipasto this time. Our food arrived quickly, and at first the portion looked smaller than before. But I was deceived! The dish was full! And delicious! And gone! I'm usually not known for cleaning my plate, but had we been in a darker corner I probably would be licking what's left! No, seriously, it's that good! This place would be popular in Sicily or Rome or Tuscany! You can tell someone in the kitchen is proud of what they're serving to be so consistent. There's no question we'll be returning - if we find a parking space!

The only disappointment was finding out our favorite appetizer, the pork cheeks, is no longer on the menu. We decided to try the crabmeat cheesecake instead, and it was pretty good. For our entrées, my wife ordered the Fish Katie, which was as good as always, and I had the lamb chop special. The lamb chops were cooked well and had great flavor. To top off the evening, the staff brought out cotton candy and a slice of olive oil cake for my wife's birthday, which was a nice touch and made the celebration feel special. Overall, we had a very enjoyable dinner with good food and attentive service. We definitely plan on coming back and hope the pork cheeks make a return to the menu someday!

Every time someone asks where we want to eat, Alesi is always at the top of the list. I'll admit, I usually order the pizza because it's just that good, but the few times I've ventured into other items on the menu, I've never been disappointed. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and made with care. It's truly sad to hear they're selling the business. So, when we finally returned to Lafayette I couldn't wait for my family to experience the most authentic Italian restaurant in the city. The decor had not changed one bit, so I had hope that nothing else did. Alas, it did. We had pasta and pizza, and neither was anywhere near what used to be served here. The spaghetti and sauce looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp long enough to dry it out, and the pizza was so underwhelming that my son considered having me evaluated for speaking of this place so highly. I've come to learn that the third generation is in charge now, but it's apparent no one cares in the kitchen. To rely on the name alone will not change the fact the sub par food is being served. I will consider that it may have been an off night. It happens. But in Lafayette an off night will cost you a customer who will never return. Competing with Imoelli's, Marcello's, and now Saricca's and Cugino, you're going to need to step it up. Pizza Artista has some of the best pies in town, and it puts to shame what came out of Alesi's kitchen. I wish someone could save this institution. It was a tradition, but now they've lost the tradition.
