We went to Pizza Amore in Carencro today to pick up lunch for our office, somewhere we order from regularly at least once a month and have always had good experiences with. Our office order is typically around $120 every time we go, so we've been loyal customers for a while. Today, we ordered two pizzas with extra sauce -- one was supposed to come with balsamic glaze and the other with pepper jelly, which we order often. Unfortunately, neither sauce was included. We didn't realize until we had already driven all the way back to Moss Street from Carencro. When we called, the employee seemed very annoyed by the situation. We were told we couldn't get a refund (which was completely fine with us), but that we could drive back to pick up the sauces. We chose to go back, and when we arrived, the cups were partially thrown at my coworker and the staff was extremely rude. I then called to speak with a manager to calmly explain the situation, but the manager was also rude, dismissive, and ended up hanging up on me mid-conversation. Mistakes happen, and we completely understand that. What was disappointing was the way the situation was handled and the disrespect shown afterward. Because of this experience, our office will unfortunately no longer be supporting Pizza Amore in Carencro. read more

Favorite pizza spot anytime I'm in Laffy. The topping options is particularly what makes it stand out from other "build your own pizza" type establishments. They have a good selection of toppings and ones you normally don't see like crawfish, shrimp, real crabmeat, corn, etc. These premium toppings can make it pricey but worth it. I don't know what was going with the 2 employees on duty 7-3-26 about 3:00PM. But there seemed to be some animosity on the part of the guy toward the young lady. It's usually a pleasant experience at Pizza Artista, but today tension was noticeable in the guy's entire demeanor. Service was very slow considering there was few customers present. The young lady was moving as efficiently as she could, but the guy was almost completely distracted from his tasks due to watching her. Everywhere she moved he paused mid-task to eye her. He was barely paying attention to the 2 pizzas I was having made. As a result they ended up sloppily prepared and butchered. This is the 1st time I did not enjoy a visit. I will say the expressions he was giving towards her were very disconcerting to observe as a customer. He appeared to have an extreme dislike or hatred for her or he was angry with her for some reason. I don't know if he realized people could tell. At one point she sat with what appeared to be an applicant and while she didn't seem to notice, he was looking in her direction and scowling the entire time. Her was more concerened with her than with his duties. I was so uncomfortable with his demeanor I wanted to leave, except I was still waiting for my order. Like I mentioned in the beginning, I don't know what was going on within their dynamic but something was amiss and I feel it would behove Pizza Artista governance to look into possible strife amongst their staff. It was more so the guy and not the young lady, although I am unaware if anything transpired between them before I arrived that contributed to his behavior. We love this place. The Fig'n awesome pizza is our favorite. We also like the pepperoni. Tonight, we ordered one of their calzones for the first time. We ordered it without onions and peppers. When the calzone came, it had onions and peppers in it. It was a little disappointing. Usually they are so good about getting orders made correctly. I decided to give it a try and I definitely was not disappointed. So they have the counter-serve style of pizza if you've been to places like Blaze or Lit Pizza. They have signature style pizzas or you can create your own pizza. I loved the create your own option because it comes with 7 toppings (included in the $7.99) which is a steal to me compared to the $10 one topping pizzas that places like Papa John's advertise. It doesn't take more than 10 minutes of waiting once you place your order (I guess depending on how busy they are). They have a great selection of beer on tap and I love the atmosphere. I'd love to say how great the pizza was but the Door Dash driver thought putting my food on the floor and not bothering to knock. The one star is only because they don't have negative stars. What kind of person puts food on the floor. Unfortunately when I called the pizza artista people (after reading on the website that they want to make it right if there is a problem) who informed me that it was too close to closing to do anything and that my hot pizza on the floor was't their problem. If they aren't concerned about their product being left on the floor it makes me wonder what they do when product ends up on the kitchen floor. Last I checked the 3 second rule doesn't apply if you run a sanitary store. Or does the floor add that special something to their pizza that reputable restaurants are missing out on by keeping their food off the floor? Here's why- Location, location, location. Normally I am super hesitant about venturing out on Johnston at lunch (because fml traffic and oh crap I'm gonna be late af getting back) but thanks to a coworker I found a shortcut AND there's a light getting in and out which makes my life. The space-It is so darn cute and bright in this place with plenty of seating complete with a state of the art hand washing station that you just insert your hands into it and it does everything but dry them for you. It's super cool. Plenty of crayons and coloring tablecloths for the kiddos too. Now for the best part-the pizza! First choose your dough-regular, wheat or gluten free. Then sauce-Alfredo, tomato, olive oil, bbq, thai peanut, spicy red...I won't bore you with all the details but just know the sauce options are endless as well as the toppings. I chose the spicy red sauce with sun dried tomatoes, onions, ham, pepperoni, Italian sausage, jalapenos and pineapples and it was delicious. I'm interested in trying their special pizzas as well. I think it is because we were hanging out with people who eat vegan and we all wanted pizza, we found that Pizza Artista catered to that particular niche so I fired up the Yelp app and ordered away for everyone. Ever miss the olden days where you just called in the first place? Upon receiving my $10 pizza, I took immediate notice of how much lack of pizza there actually was. I guess since it is "artisan" bread, sauce, cheese, and a smattering of meats and other things it is supposed to be smaller than "non-artisan" bread, sauce, cheese, and a smattering of meats and other things so I kept my mouth shut and ate it. It was just an-pizza. Nothing really stood out flavor wise and the dough/crust was REALLY chewy and just OK. And that is pretty much all I can say about the pizza. A $10 Costco pizza which is about 10 times larger is way better bang for buck and more delicious to apply to the mouth. My small $10 did not fill me for that long and I ended up eating sushi a few hours later. So. If you need to cater to veganism, you can order from here. They were a little confused at first when I said it was a yelp order (apparently Grubhub fulfills the orders and it shows up as grubhub). We ordered two kids pizzas. Two gluten free pizzas and a regular pizza. They were all very tasty. They accidentally made one of the gluten frees regular but I brought it to their attention as soon as I realized it and they immediately made a new one. Overall it was a great experience. It's awesome that you get to make your own pizza, and the serving drinks is excellent. I love how they wash your hands with the machines, it's very relaxing and it sanitizers very well.
