Went there tuesday and Wednesday night and enjoyed a superb meal. We were in town Monday thru Friday. This was outside the holiday inn Had the baked ziti in alfredo sauce and that was a home run. Wife hade a shrimp linguini dish was also good. Service was great tuesday. Wednesday, well we had a sour puss. Didnt smile, was not very attentive and never brought me the 3rd drink i ordered. Them cashing out we asked for separate bills but pay for them both with one card. Well she combined them again and check it out as one bill. And they could not separate them after cashing out. Nice enough interior, attentive staff, but the food is poor and the lack of customers made for a dead atmosphere on a Friday night. I had a ravioli that came with a salad, bread and house wine. Everything was average. The salad was basically a small bowl of chopped up iceberg lettuce that was soggy rather than crisp, with two slices of flavorless tomato, and a dressing on the side. The ravioli felt like a microwaved dish, super hot but basically tasteless, large pockets of pasta smothered in bland sauce and a little cheese. The wine was their house Pinot, cheap but warm. I suppose one can't expect too much in terms for taste from an Italian by a run of cheap hotels in Texarkana. The staff were active and the place was clean. Most of the dishes seem to involve chicken so maybe I made the wrong choice. It's a step slightly up from the options at the nearby Holiday Inn but that's the best I can say. read more

Food was between good and decent. I liked it. I had purchased a dinner for 4 via DoorDash, so take the comment regarding service with a grain of salt given the middleman involved. I spent roughly $80 total and when it arrived, there was no chicken piccata that I had ordered. I immediately messaged my dasher and she politely offered to go back and get the missing meal. When she arrived at Roma's, she alleged that was told that the restaurant knew they gave us what we ordered, and to call and take it up with them. We can't drive to pick it up and can't be petty or bothered so much to call and complain, but I felt the need to at least note this in a review. read more

This was a nice meal for us. We stayed in Texarkana overnight on our travels. Food was good. I didn't find it to be anything more than 3.5 stars. However...service was a 5 and then some. Staff was very nice, checking in us, brought food out piping hot. The menu is quite large and diverse. We enjoyed it and would go back when we travel through the area again. I'm just passing through Texarkana and saw this place. I had to stop. They have veal piccata, done exactly as I like it. Their house dressing on my salad was great. Overall it was good. The limoncello martini was really good, and the breaded chicken on my pasta was really good too. Both my husband and I got a pink sauce (marinara + Alfredo), but we weren't big fans. It's bright orange and the flavor wasn't our favorite. I think I should have gotten Alfredo sauce instead. 5 service! Jessi and the GM were amazing! I just wish the food was as good as they are. That's why this review is very hard to write. Without the amazing service, this would be a 1 review. Positives:If it's your thing know the portions are HUGE. The Parmesan chicken with Alfredo was good. The mint tea is delicious. The cupcakes etc are yummy. Negatives: The portions are HUGE which is a negative in light of the quality of the food. The Lasagna and meatball (in our opinion) are horrible. They had no flavor with meat that just tasted old. There was no cheese or ricotta in the lasagna just noodles and awful meat. The breadsticks are flat and seem premade. For us none of the sauces are very good. The Alfredo doesn't taste fresh made. The muffuletta was toasted on the outside but cold on the inside and had strangely sweet bread. Either the sandwich is hot OR cold, not both. We would've preferred much less food for higher quality ingredients. We did not try the salads or PoBoys. They looked good going by our table but I don't hold out much hope. Strangely we all talked as a family and because the staff was phenomenal we would come back for tea, cupcakes, and macaroons! read more

Came here for lunch. They are still working off a limited menu, as they just opened the doors less than a week ago, but lunch was packed full of customers! I really enjoyed the atmosphere and setup. Stag was very friendly. Although still new and was not familiar with items like which soft drinks they had, but that is normal for a new opening. Bread and salads came really quick after ordering. I ordered the Cesar salad and it was really good. I really like the croutons. They were crispy on the outside but soft in the middle. For my entree, I ordered the 1/2 chicken parmigiana po-boy. By 1/2, it is still a large sandwich! I thought the chicken was the perfect size, not too thick but not too thin either. The sauce (original sauce) comes on the side, which I like better. It helped make it less messy while waiting. Overall, we really enjoyed our first time here and will definitely come back! read more

Would give more stars if it wasn't for one thing: their default marinara sauce is ridiculously sweet. I mean so sweet that it makes everything completely inedible. And please note that I don't mean this is like a routine pinch of sugar to cut down on the acidity like most of us would use at home. This is like someone throwing in a huge bag of sugar! My first time eating at Monjunis was in Shreveport a few years ago. Thought it was awful due to the sauce, and my whole table was shocked that an Italian restaurant would serve something like that. We didn't complain, just scraped the sauce off, thinking maybe someone in the back made a mistake when prepping the sauce that day. Decided to give it another chance here in TXK only because I saw a recent review where they mentioned that Monjunis actually has different styles of sauce, one of which is unsweet (basil sauce). So glad I saw that because I did not see any indication on their menu that their were different sauce options and what those options consist of. Anyway, this time, I made sure the waitress knew that I wanted the unsweet sauce. What a difference that made!! It was actually pretty good. You just have to tell them for every dish/appetizer, because even though I stated I wanted unsweet sauce, the bread appetizer they brought out still had the sweet stuff on the side. Tried it again for good measure, and guess what, it's still gross!! :( FYI - apparently, some people love this sweet sauce and it has a bit of a cult following, but I do not recommend it. To each their own, I guess. Thanks a bunch to the reviewer who mentioned the different sauce options so I can eat there now. Note to Monjunis: add a notice to your menu about the different sauces with a description of each and make the unsweet your default. Or even better, ditch the sweet version altogether and serve sugar packets on the side to those who like it that sweet. read more

Monjuni's is just as good today as it was the first time I had it as a child in the 90s. First, they bring toasted rounds of garlic bread with their signature sweet red sauce for dipping- so dang good! The crispiness of the bread is softened once it hits that sweet sauce and the melody of flavors is just the perfect introduction to a wonderful dinner. I have the spaghetti with two meatballs and oh man are those meatballs HUGE! They use the thin spaghetti, which I prefer, and it is cooked fabulously al dente. Their sweet sauce is exactly as described but it's not overly sweet- harmonious blend of spices with the acidity of the tomatoes and the sweetness actually helps bring down that acidity to create a really unique sauce. The MEATBALL! It's big, y'all. I wanted leftovers, so I ordered the two. One meatball would be plenty for those who aren't a leftovers queen like I am. Great beefy flavor, seasoned very well, garlicky, and tender with a good firmness to it. I could cut the meatball with my fork, but just because of the vastness of it, I used my knife, too. My mom had the eggplant parmesan and my sister had the chicken parmesan with a side Caesar salad. They both fell in love with their dishes. The Caesar salad came with a hefty amount of dressing on the side, so you get to add as much or as little as you like, and it is thick. Huge disappointment. Service was fair. But what can you expect from a teenager who obviously is working after school. Monjuni's established itself was a Shreveport staple many years ago. The former Monjuni's in Texarkana was far better than this attempt. I've had better Italian at Olive Garden and that's not saying much. My guest from out of town was also disappointed. Food was as bland as could be. The "bread" is actually tiny DRY toast and the marinara sauce is like red water with sweet and low added. Each bite of the dry bread left your lap, shirt and table COVERED with thousands of crumbs! Lasagna was the correct consistency but completely TASTELESS. And get this NO tiramisu on the dessert menu!! Guest's fettuccine was half ass; again - no flavor. You can tell no olive oil or basic Italian seasoning was used. Hate to give this poor review but this isn't a place I'll return to. The food doesn't look or taste Italian. House salad was only thing on menu that was remotely decant and it was five or six dollars. I can't imagine anyone going here a second time. I do eat at Monjuni's in Shreveport and this isn't the same grade of food. That said, the managers or supervisors roamed the dining room asking patrons if everything was OK and If we needed anything. I didn't have the heart to tell them they needed to get a new cook and real ingredients. Good luck to this imposter restaurant. read more

Terribly disappointed. Per advertised signs, we walked in thinking this was a true Italian Deli and grocery store. We walked in to a regular restaurant. Which is fine, but the hostess was perplexed that we wanted to make a to go order of sandwiches. 15 minutes after taking our order, another person came out and asked if we had a to go order. The hostess hadn't placed our order correctly for the kitchen staff to understand. (Chicken parm sandwhich; smoked turkey sandwich; dry ham and cheese sandwich.) After receiving our order we were terribly disappointed. The order was wrong and the sandwiches were comparative to Subway. The only thing I can write positively about was the bread was delicious. Fresh and crusty. The grocery store is only a few shelves. A menagerie of jars of olives, a few choices of packaged pastas, crackers, chips, marinara sauce and another steakhouse's cups. The dessert options looked delicious (cup cakes and macrons) but, after the service and quality we received we declined. read more

I read reviews ahead of time but was concerned about the sweet sauce but it was a convenient place near where we were staying. So glad we had tried Monjunis. It was wonderful. We ordered Cheesy sticks and didn't realize it came with the sweet sauce. It was sweet but not too much. All the food our party of four ordered was delicious. When ordering our entrees the waitress did ask us what sauce we wanted. Two tried the unsweet.(Basil?) They both said it was very good. We all said would we be back next year.
