If you are looking for good old fish and chips, wrapped in paper, to eat by the seaside, then please bypass the numerous kebab and fast food eateries dotted along the main commercial streets in Bude. Instead, pop just off of the main street, tucked in a side road, to The Mermaid. I had a Cod and Chips, which I could barely even finish for a fiver, a fiver! Given the price of cod in most chips shops I have visited locally, I was amazed. Cheap, tasty, huge portions, exactly what I want in a chippie!
