DO NOT USE JOHN BRUBAKER, for job search services or resume building…read more I 1000% agree with Sandra B (reviewed on 11/4/22), John's work is very poor, at best. His work is filled with errors and run-on sentences. I was wary from the beginning to use John, I had my doubts. Unfortunately, I chose wrong and regret signing up with John and wasting money. John did refund some money back to me, even he recognized his professionalism and services performed were sub-par. Here is a short list of issues and errors I dealt with that prompted this review: 1. Incorrect billing - John sent me someone else's bill. 2. I asked for an updated resume and recruiter information that I paid for and intended to work on during the 2023 holiday break. The information took weeks to receive and I was no longer on vacation. 3. It took John one to two months to finalize my resume. He never quite grasped my accomplishments. It was like groundhogs day over and over. 4. Email responses with incorrect names; a clear sign he is very unorganized and sloppy. 5. I sent John an email asking for assistance for an interview I had coming up, interview prep was another service I paid for. John never responded to my email and never called me. I ended up not getting the role. When I asked him why he did not respond, he stated "I missed that email". At that point, I decided to part ways and he agreed to refund me part of what I originally paid him. John's process is convoluted and messy and leaves room for errors when searching and applying for jobs. I have scrapped my resume that was poorly written by John, again, it was just a waste of time and money. I have created my own resume and cover letter using the internet, which was 1000X less painful and the result seems to be more clear-cut and in line with newer technology needed in today's environment. I highly suggest using a different service or the resources available on line. On-line services are a fraction of the cost and you'll receive a better result.

It was not customized or well written, in fact it was just a hodge-podge of cut and paste lines and runon sentences from the web, as well as with several grammatical errors. It was jumbled and very difficult for anyone to follow. Unfortunately, I met with him before seeing a finished resume. I requested a refund after a few days when he asked me to pretty much write the career over view, even after I had already given him all the necessary information. I realized quickly, that John was not acting in good faith, he did not return my emails and weeks later tried to justified not refunding the deposit. The fact of the matter is he told me that he needed the "mark up" exercise before he would start the resume, and it was at that point I told him that I no longer needed the service and SO did not do the "exercise'. Please do yourselves a favor, and do not do businuess with John, the poor quality of his resumes will keep you unemployed.
