The Round About Cafe has moved into Brooklet and opened their restaurant on East Lee Street. Who…read moreknow? The change to rip everything out, start anew, and build from the ground up appears to have worked miracles because the meals we have purchased have been way above our expectations. The sandwiches were delicious in every way: excellent locally-sourced meats, fresh hoagie buns instead of soggy buns as are served so many places. Another restauirant had opened here over a year ago, and they were so bad that im not sure most people notice when they disappeard. From what ive eaten so far, im thinking ill eat here aften enough, and tell my friends, that they should keep busy, and who knows, maybe even expand next door. You need to come check the Round About out.

You'll find a local, caring, small town atmosphere at Roundabout Cafe. The reason for success of…read moreserving locals and guest for many years is reflected in their reviews. The restaurant interior is a bit vintage - days gone by and industrial. I popped in at lunchtime to get a quick bite and service was just that - quick! They recommended the popular chicken salad and it was very good. It is sweet leaning thanks to the Craisins and chunks of apples. While the apples also give this a wonderful crunch so does the celery and nuts. It was garnished with fresh tomatoes and served atop a piece of leafy green lettuce - lovely! I can certainly see this spot being the gathering place of a local sports/little league team after an event!

Well... being from out of town, we didn't really know where to go for a nice Valentine's evening…read moreout. We chose this establishment. We arrived to a 2/3rds full eatery and was told we had a wait for a booth... no problem. My wife and I went to the bar and ordered Margaritas. All well, so far. After 15-20 minutes... my wife had to remind the host that we were waiting. He pointed to a booth that was free and we walked over and sat down with our Margaritas. I snagged two menus from the service station so we could decide what we wanted to order. Waitresses walked past us back and forth attending to other tables... but none came to us. The bus woman served us a basket of chips and salsa... and we waited. And waited. And waited. 15 minutes at the bar, and over 20 minutes at the booth. That was enough. We stood and walked to the host at the door and asked to be billed for the Margaritas... I told him how long we waited with no service and his only words were, "Cash or card?". No apologies, no discounted return visit, no "no charge for the two Margaritas, no "sorry folks".... Nothing. If this is how they treat customers... we will certainly never return. My wife and I just bought land here and look to build our family compound/Homestead. So, we were hoping to find a good spot to frequent. But, equally important... this place helped us find a "no go" spot. Check this eatery off the list. I guess our expectations were set to high by "Leanna's" on Main St., the customer service there, the food, coffee.... AMAZING!!! This place should study their business model.
