I've been a loyal customer for many years, and this place used to be one of the best in Statesboro--great food, great service. Unfortunately, things have really changed over time. The food just doesn't have the same flavor or quality it once did; everything now seems to taste the same. Service has declined as well, and the restaurant was uncomfortably hot during my last visit--maybe the A/C was out? It's disappointing to say, but I can no longer recommend this restaurant. read more

Everything was 10/10, will be back for sure. Music was perfect, great service and clearly the food was cooked with love. The salsa bar is amazing, of course had to try all the salsas. They were all fantastic. All the toppings you want are also at the salsa bar, and you can help yourself to chips as well. The food , service was aweful. They had several salsas on the bar however none was labeled to what it was, I chose the creamy looking salsa which was extremely spicy like ghost peppers hot. Enchiladas Parmesan.... So freaking good. I wasn't even that hungry when we came in and I savored every bite. So delicious. I live 45 minutes away and now this is making me want to find more reasons to come to Statesboro. The staff was all very friendly and everything looked nice and clean. The Salsa bar. That was so yummy. Chips were fresh and hot. I had enchiladas verde and my husband had carnitas. The green salsa is a huge flavor hit. The restaurant feels so authentic and service was very good with great personality. I wish it was closer to my home. Seriously would make a trip there just to go back. read more

This place is Old looking inside and out, like in not all the clean. Seats needing to be recovered and the restaurant needs a fresh coat of paint inside and all the signs need to be redone. After we was seated we found it was very warm, guess the AC was not working. When I was placing my order I found out they don't serve Beer. I have never been to a Mexican Restaurant that didn't serve Alcohol, so I ordered a Coke. I got the Barreto Texrcana with a everything. Little did I know it was served with grilled vegetables that was frozen (NOT FRESH) and very soggy. The steak was very stringy and lots of fat on it. The Shrimp had no taste, like the other stuff in it. Over all this place does not even rate one star, but for it to be posted I had to give it one. read more

Headed to Florida and needed a place to stop and rest and get a bit of yummy food. My husband was in charge of finding the place, and I would say he did a pretty good job! The place is a bit of a hole in the wall, but once inside it is quaint enough, and everyone was very friendly. Got our drink orders, looked at the menu, and then realized it's a bar style chip situation. So I got us some chips and salsa. We ordered some cheese dip, I ordered the chicken soup, and my husband got a chimichanga with rice and beans. Overall the food was great, amazing soup full of flavor and the rice was amazing! There was a gentleman I talked to that ordered some fish dish that he stated that you had to order ahead but that it was to die for, never got a good look at it, but sounded great. They also have a small selection of groceries as well! Probably won't be back since I don't live anywhere near here, but was a great experience that I will cherish. Rinconcito serves hands-down the most authentic (and delicious) Mexican food I've ever had. Their rice and beans are absolutely to die for. Their chile rellenos are flavorful, packed to the brim with delicious meats, and doused in cheese. Their quesadillas are so yummy, filled with grilled/diced chicken (or ground beef or steak) as opposed to shredded slow-cooked chicken. Their complementary salsa bar absolutely MAKES their tacos, quesadillas, etc. - look to it not only for spicy dips to go with their freshly made chips, but also for toppings to compliment your food. And seriously, I cannot emphasize enough that Rinconcito serves the best refried beans I've ever had in my life. I wish I could eat them every day, and since I recently moved to St. Louis, I crave them all the time! No other Mexican restaurant compares. Certainly the decor is not reminiscent of any 5 star restaurant, but Rinconcito is focused on what's most important: FOOD, which is something they do excellently and for extremely affordable prices. I've never had a single problem with any of my meals there. Each has been more delicious than the last. I crave it each and every week, and my guess is that many others in town feel the same way - the place is ALWAYS packed. Try and get there at 11:30 for lunch to avoid the crowds. I feel very comfortable saying (pretty conclusively) that Michelle's "food poisoning" was just the stomach flu, which I and almost everyone I know got around the time her review was posted. Don't mind her error. This place is absolutely fantastic. If you let one Yelp review sway your opinion of dining here, let it be mine - to which I say, get in your car and try Rincncito right now! This restaurant is a prime example of authentic Mexican cuisine. The building is very, very clean and the atmosphere is exceedingly warm. The service is excellent, attentive, and friendly, and the food is even better. Don't just take my word for it - get out there and try it! Don't judge a book by its cover. Situated in a strip mall, and not much for over the top Mexican decor... But the food was incredible! Hubby had the steak and chicken loaded nachos, and we split an order of six tacos. The tacos were the highlight for me, but the nachos were also excellent. Don't forget to swing by the free chip and salsa bar to add fresh cilantro, onions, pico, or one of their flavorful salsas. Hope were in town again and can stop by! Service was wonderful... Just moved to town and decided to stop in here with my parents for our first meal here.. and WOW. The food was AMAZING. Unlimited chips and many salsa options! Big fan! The food here is amazing. We were traveling with lots of family and looking for a place we could all meet up for a great meal before heading off to our hotel. This one is really a gem and don't let the outside fool you into thinking its small. Inside its actually pretty large and you can really see they take pride in their food. Really good authentic Mexican food. BEST in Statesboro. We got the Texas rice and the cheese quesadilla with steak for our entrees 10/10.

So gross. There was a bone in the steak on my nachos, the cheese dip was cold, a friend asked for lettuce and they brought a plate with shredded lettuce out and when she tried to put it on her food, about a 1/4 cup of water dumped into her food.
