Enter: Serhii -- part contractor, part superhero. Not only is he super skilled, he's also the kind of guy who calls early to ask if it's okay to be early. WHO DOES THAT?! I strongly advise against using Home Tech. My experience with them involved extreme delays, poor…read morecommunication, unfulfilled scope of work, and ultimately a bounced check. * Delays & Cancellations: After receiving my insurance payout, Home Tech delayed the ridge cap repair for four months. They repeatedly canceled scheduled dates, explicitly telling me my house was not a priority. During this delay, the roof leak and internal damage worsened significantly. * Incorrect Materials & Refusal of Itemization: When workers finally arrived, they installed plastic ridge caps instead of the metal materials specified and paid for by insurance. When I requested an itemized invoice and bill of materials, the co-owner, Katie, refused to provide one--claiming that small jobs require higher markup and providing invoices would prevent them from making money. * Financial Mismanagement: After weeks of asking for my remaining balance, I was forced to mention reporting them to the Better Business Bureau just to get my refund check issued. Three weeks after depositing the refund, my bank notified me that the check bounced due to insufficient funds. * Unprofessional Conduct: Management actively avoids accountability, shifts blame onto their inspectors, and dodges calls. While Samir was helpful in trying to move things forward, working with Katie and executive management was a complete nightmare. Save yourself the frustration and hire a company that honors its schedules, uses proper materials, and maintains basic financial integrity.

As others have stated, do not let them speak with your insurance company. Ask for an estimate but dont tell them how much you are getting. They will hound you for every insurance dollar without providing any justification or proof of their cost. Their owner (Katy) is not very professional (at least in my case, would only reply via emails. She would not talk to me over the phone) and when asked to provide proof of cost or scope of work, would delay, delay, delay until they did the work and then told me that I owed them. Although, our house turned out OK, i would not recommend them to my worst enemy. I would also caution anyone that doesnt have a support network who you can run things by, to shop around and be comfortable with who you work with. I had the support of my family, but without them, i could have been out thousands of OOP dollars. They also threatened to take me to court if i didn't hand over EVERY insurance dollar. I had my insurance company write them an email stating that certain checks were meant for the policy owner only and not the contractor and they still claimed i had to hand over the check. This is not the standard, and thankfully you can find other roofers who will do honest work.

Very disappointing. When they first installed the roof they completely covered the drain hole on…read morethe porch roof and had to completely redo it. This was only because I noticed the issue. Then, just over a year later, the roof leaked and it took them two months to make the repair. After the repair, they refused to repair the interior damage caused by the leak, some minor painting. They claimed it was because the roof damage was weather related, however as the roof was just over a year old, this is ridiculous.

Worst of all, 4) I don't think the solar attic fan they supposedly installed even works as it has made little difference in cooling my home. I said "supposedly" because I don't have access to my attic and I cannot see the roof of my property from the street, so since they installed this while I wasn't home - I haven't personally seen this fan I paid them a G to install.

I was pleasantly surprised at how affordable their products were, especially considering the high quality. They truly offer great value for your money.
