Liked that they had an actual wood fire oven. They are located in the same building as a brewery so if you wanted a draft beer to go with your pizza it would be no problem. There is lots of seating both indoor and outdoor with traditional gastro pub decor. We ordered at the counter and the gentleman who took our order was also the cook and server. He didn't really engage in telling us about selections but he wasn't rude which is always a plus! Nice selection was available on the menu and my family and I decided to each get small pizzas. My husband ordered the Thai sweet chili chicken which he described as having a traditional Thai flavor but was a bit dry due to lack of much sauce. My son ordered a cheese pizza which he thought could use more sauce and was a bit burnt. I had the Chicken Gouda which had Brussel sprouts. Tasty pizza but didn't have a wow factor. We got there a little after they opened and were a bit disappointed that our server said he had sweet tea which we ordered but then later said he didn't so we had to order something else. 3/15/25 Came to the brewery for date night with my hubby and we ordered a small pizza to split. We ordered the honey garlic chicken. The pizza came out pretty quickly and was so delicious, we devoured it pretty quickly. The staff was very accommodating and definitely seems hard working. With how busy the brewery was during a downpour, they were non stop moving pizzas. Great pizza! Definitely will have to come back and try the other specialty pizzas offered here. read more

Rolling Oven is a locally owned restaurant and food truck serving wood-fired, brick oven pizzas. We have never been to the restaurant but were able to sample from the food truck at a recent event. Everything we ordered was delicious: 2 different pizzas and 2 Cubanos. But my favorite was the Serrano Pepper Pizza. Their version of the Cubano begins with soft, slightly sweet Cuban bread. Heaps of heavily seasoned pork roast and sliced ham alternating between layers of Swiss cheese and sour pickles. The sandwich is cemented together with yellow mustard and a garlic butter schmear. is it practically a complete meal you can eat while walking? Serrano Pepper Piza appears to be made from a hand-stretched dough with just the right amount of char. This provides a rustic, artisanal backdrop for the vibrant serrano peppers. Ridiculous and offensive business. $17 dollars for a single avocado sliced in half with some tomatoes and shitty bread is simply "fuck you" pricing. $30 for a relatively small and thin pizza is less bad but still price gouging. First time visiting this area and was so entertained! The vibe is community gathering with games and brew. We sat at the side with the beer taps not knowing there were levels to the whole establishment. Our server, Kilah, was amazing as she explained how it worked and all the offerings. I had the chicken Gouda pizza which was AMAZING!! My man went to the other side where there was a full bar to grab out cocktails. They were pretty and refreshing but we personally like cheap sugary drinks more lol. As to why we don't drink often. We got the buffalo dip as well which took forever and came out after our pizza, but was well worth the wait. We met some cool people here and chatted so it didn't seem as long as it was. So the pizza is quite honestly fantastic. The crust is perfectly thin with a great texture and flavor, and cooked perfectly. The toppings and options available are packed with some incredible flavors, overall the pizza is done very well. The service was ok, friendly enough but definitely took way more time than I would expect. The prices were very much overpriced in my opinion. The pizza is no doubt good and using quality ingredients, but is overpriced for is essentially a slightly large personal pizza. read more

I ordered the tavern style pizza for $32 thinking it was a regular sized pizza like all of the other $30+ dollar pizzas and received a small 10". A small pizza that feeds one for $32. That's just crazy. I am a very frequent visitor and am appalled by the price to food ratio. The typical small pizza at this establishment is $15-$20. Rolling Oven offers a large selection of delicious food. I ordered them while visiting Twin Mirror Brewery and was very impressed. Their ordering system at the brewery is really simple. Each table has a QR code for scanning and ordering from your phone. The menu for lunch on a Sunday morning was huge! I couldn't believe how many options they had. The regular menu and brunch menu were available. The Pizza Bianca and Potato, Cheese, and Egg Pizza were both so delicious. The flavors were amazing on both. The Toast a la French was also very good. What a fun idea to make a crispy coated French toast. I should have ordered the half order because the full order was a lot of food. I ordered a Side Salad to get some mandatory vegetables and was impressed with this as well. The bowl of greens was packed and all of the ingredients were fresh. I wasn't expecting the world, but I was still really disappointed. For starters, what I ordered online was described as a "regular" sized pizza, but they called it "small" when I got there, and these things were absolutely tiny. I was pretty insulted for the price I paid, but even if those two little pizzas had been $20 instead of $30, I still wouldn't be in a hurry to come back. The crust was a very basic white bread flavor, and while the tikka masala sauce smelled nice and I liked the veggies it came with, the basic margherita was nothing special. Two of the smaller pizzas put together, plus my own hummus at home to dip the crusts in for flavor, added up to a decent meal. Their menu doesn't align that well with my tastes, and this location is effectively a pickup in a bar with some outdoor seating. One doesn't come to Lexington for the pizza scene, but I feel justified in expecting more than I got from here. read more

We ordered a small pizza to share (I can't remember which one because it was a bit back and I didn't label my picture lol) and the fat sticks. Both were pretty fabulous, and I recall we both commented on how good the dough was. Personally, the fat sticks were the better of the two, but that might just be because I really like bacon... ****I am sure most positive reviews is because they are including the attached independent micro brewery experience. My review is purely separate from that. Pizza -- Avoid! I have eaten pizza all over the country and all over the world including Europe, Africa, Asia, Middle East and Latin America. This was by far the worst pizza and service I've ever experienced. And that is not an exaggeration. And what's sad was they didn't seem to care. So some advice, don't pay a tip. They get you to pay a tip before doing nothing for it. You have to even clean your own table while the waitresses socialize like a back stage locker room full of dancers waiting for their turn to go out on stage. We ordered at the bar. They didn't bring our drinks until after we had to go up to ask for them after the food started to arrive. The response was "oh. My bad." Then the appetizer was 15 minutes after the entres started arriving. And ALL the food was chard on top and burned to charcoal on the bottom. (And I have eaten fire oven pizza before. And this wasn't that. This was crematorium cooked pizza). One could argue the food the girl was trying to cook was part of the fire's fuel. Then there was the service or lack of service. It was worse than the food. The girl that took the order was busy talking on the phone to family while attempting to take the order. Then there was what appeared to be the manager, that yes overheard what was happening with our order, she was busy kissing, hugging and emotionally distracted with another manager or employee. For her, this clearly was not a job but a chance to get some good feels and desperately needed affection from a guy. When I finally went up to inquire for the appetizer after having received my entre, several waitresses did their best to gas light us by stating that appetizers coming out before entres is just normal in the restaurant business. Obviously they don't watch Gordon Ramsey and Hell's Kitchen. The concept of service, food quality, and honesty was a lost concept with this underperforming staff. Bringing out drinks and appetizers after the entre is normal for restaurants they emphatically kept stating is how things are done on the regular. I called them out on their crap and their creative "fun" "facts". After realizing we were a Iot smarter than their half baked intellect, and no matter how often they repeated their creative "fun facts" we still weren't believing it, so they decided that avoidance was a mature tactic. They wouldn't look us in the eye. They avoided the table. They didn't ever come back after plopping the last of the food down on the table. The manager walked by twice avoiding any discussion. Like a child playing "I can't hear or see you" with its mother in order to avoid being accountable. The staff must have been scarred when younger to have such an "imaginative" intellect and limited social skill set. Hopefully my well intended, prepaid, non-refunded tip goes toward getting some group help and counseling. This place truly leaves everything to be desired. The restaurant's origins of starting as a food truck should have remained its present day, still a food truck. Nothing more, preferably less. Today what remains is a guaranteed level yuck!!! Tony's frozen pizza is better. And I'm being serious. Four pizzas, an appetizer and four sodas was almost $120. And for what? I'm still trying to wrap my head around that. The money would have been better spent being dropped off as a cash donation at the Good Will Store in a zip lock baggy. I have followed rolling oven since it was just a food truck. Their food is aways great and hot. Their service is spectacular. The staff are very kind and helpful. Mirror twin has 2 of these guys in it. So darn good. I can't not order their potato sausage pizza. Yum. Typing this is literally making my mouth water. Not only is the food great and reasonably priced, it is so damn good. Stop in and grab you a pie today. You will love it. Have a beer while you wait. Enjoy this place. I am not sure who is the cook at Rolling Oven At Mirror Twin but the food is so spicy to me that I can't eat it. If fire roasted chicken wings are supposed to be spicy then it should be listed. I mean the Fire Roasted potato skins aren't. We ordered PLAIN wings and even my husband who likes spice was sweating. That's not plain to me, it should be something everyone can eat. Also eating big chunks of pepper on pizza is not good either (see pic below). Plus they forgot the arugula. This is the second time the food has not been where it should be. Last time when we were there for brunch pizzas they forgot the egg and maple syrup. So it was just bacon and cheese pizza, not what was ordered. The truck was at Bonnaroo, and we had to try it! It was a little bit of a wait, but makes sense since it was at a large music festival. The pizza came out super hot and fresh! The sauce was flavorful and there was tons of pepperoni. The crust was light and fluffy. It was a little more burnt then I would have liked, but I think that was from the oven being super hot to crank out the pizzas faster. It was also one of the best deals at Bonnaroo. $16 for a 10in pizza! It was delicious and great to eat while watching a show. The workers on the truck were also super sweet. I took off a star, because a man (I'm assuming the owner of the truck possibly) put in a huge order and that was pushed right to the front of everyone waiting. This is a strong addition to Mirror Twin Brewing. I love Wood fired pizza and Rolling Oven has a good dough recipe that holds up the the fire. Good selection of pizza toppings as well. However the star of the menu is the potato skinssssssss!!!! Excellent after hiking all day or just brewery hopping. Orders so take awhile so expect to drink a beer or two before the pizza is ready but if you aren't in a hurry, then it may be worth the wait! read more

I'm not a huge pizza fan, so I've yet to review RO. That was until I experienced their life changing bunch this past Saturday. It's literally the best kept secret in Lexington right now, so I thought I'd share. So this review will be based solely on their bunch, which is only offered on Saturday and Sundays, in the newest Mirror Twin location, in the former Cosmic Charlie's building. The brunch menu is simple, as is the ordering process. You can grab a menu and a table spot first, but you have to go up to the counter to order. The menu consists on breakfast pizzas, several versions of French toast and a cheesy avocado dish that is topped with two eggs over easy. I couldn't decide on French toast or the avocado dish, so I got both and I was happy to share the French toast with my new brunch bunch friends. Both plates were the best variations of an avocado dish, and a French toast plate that I've ever had... seriously. I'm picky about my eggs, I'll be the first to admit. The eggs that topped the avocado dish were perfectly cooked to temperature. The French toast was panko crusted, which gave it a perfect crunch. Seriously, if you're looking for a new place to try brunch, this is it! They were having a baby shower there around noon, which was a perfect spot. Definitely a great spot for groups, at least for now, until people find out about this phenomenal brunch that they got going on here, and the line will be out the door. read more

Rolling Oven is located inside of Mirror Twin obviously, so you can try some good beer or specialty cocktails while waiting. All the employees I've interacted with are cool and friendly as well. If you want great brick oven pizza, rolling oven is a perfect choice...especially if you want to paIr it with some excellent beers as they are located inside Mirror Twin brewery. While they offer more than pizza I recommend skipping some of those like the wings or potato skins as I just don't think they have perfected cooking those in the pizza oven. My wife, her friend and I went to Mirror Twin brewing for Trivia. I ordered a flight of beer and a Margherita pizza. My wife ordered Prosciutto & Gouda sandwich and a Beer Sting beer. The pizza was burnt in some areas and I felt the sauce was dried out. I felt the My wife's sandwich was also burnt in some spots. After the pizza, I ordered another flight and was still hungry and ordered a bruschetta appetizer. The bruschetta was alright, the parts of the bread that were under the bruschetta was very soggy.
