I'm obsessed with this place. I've been twice now, and I keep thinking about it. First visit I had pulled pork, and it was good for sure, but I tried some of my husbands brisket and was dying for more until my 2nd visit. Next time I got the brisket I wanted, and my husband got the pork belly. Again, I'm craving that pork belly. I also loved the ribs, but the pork belly and brisket are the best things I've tried. J heard the salmon is good, but they usually don't have it til 2pm. I've always been looking for a good BBQ place in Lexington other than my favorite (Blue Door), and Porterhouse is it. I went back to Greyline to see if anything new had been added, and to check out Porterhouse. I ordered the tacos --- one brisket and two pork belly with slaw and green chiles. Your choice of meat. (Ask for extra chiles.) It was huge, stuffed with meat. I drizzled a little of their bourbon sauce on it. I only got through the one taco. I needed a break between tacos and took home the other two. This was a great meal! If you like authentic smoked BBQ, check out Porterhouse. We enjoyed pulled pork, fall apart tender brisket, amazing ribs and pork belly burnt ends...excellent! The portions were quite large with very reasonable prices. The sides were equally tasty, we had Mac and cheese, green beans and amazing smoked cabbage! All were perfectly seasoned and not cooked to mush. The owner couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating...he gave us several samples of meats we didn't order, so we could try a little of everything. Smart business man! Exceptional BBQ. I had pork, chicken and brisket tacos - all are topped with chilis and some amazing coleslaw. DH is a big eater and got the ribs + 2. He couldn't finish it. Their in-house sauces are both delicious but I favored the sweet and hot combo. They even brought out some brisket DH to try. Came to our local brewery to watch UK football game and ate from this food truck. I ordered the barbecued salmon, green beans, and grilled cabbage. I am a professed green bean snob, but these were perfectly seasoned and delicious. Cabbage was ok for cabbage, but that's what you get when you're cutting carbs. The BBQ here was outstanding. Brisket was moist and a huge portion. The pulled pork was also moist and flavorful and a large portion. Imaginative sides like smoked cabbage along with more traditional sides. Later in the day they often offer smoked salmon. Prices are reasonable and portions are large. Stoped by country boy brewing and Porterhouse BBQ was the food truck for the day. They had BBQ, ribs, chicken legs all smoked right there on their truck. The smell alone was great. I got the chicken leg with mac and cheese and green beans. The chicken was very tender and had a great glaze on the top. It wasn't to crunchy but wasn't to soft. The mac and cheese had almost like a breaking top that gave it a little crunch which I like. The green beans had little pieces of brisket mixed in that gave them a great smoky taste. Last weekend I headed to Rock House Brewing to see Jaws and I noticed on Facebook earlier in the week that there would be a food truck there, Porterhouse BBQ. Admittedly, anytime I come across a restaurant with "BBQ" in its title, I am not very hopeful to find vegetarian/vegan options. I sent Porter House a message on Facebook to see if by chance they would have any options on their menu. Unfortunately, they did not, however I got a follow up message within 24 hours letting me know that they would have a couple of portobello mushrooms that they could throw on in the smoker. Not only was I happy that I would be able to eat something there, I was extremely impressed that they would go out of their way to be so accommodating. I wound up getting three of the portobello's and they seasoned each with a different seasoning. They also had some amazing smoked cabbage that was cooked in the smoker and had a great barbeque taste. I can't express how great this husband and wife duo are, this is a great example of excellent customer service and why I love supporting local businesses. If you are out and about on a Friday, stop by Rock House and show them some love, they are there every Friday night. read more

My corworker and I headed out for lunch today and decided to try Porterhouse BBQ in Greyline Station. Neither of us had been there before - so it was a new experience. And . . . it was GREAT. We both opted for the pulled chicken - she got green beans and coleslaw, I opted for green beans and mac and cheese. The chicken was moist and well seasoned with just the faintest hint of heat. I tried both sauces offered (sweet heat and bourbon) and liked both. I will say they were aptly named as well - the sweet heat was tasty with a little added heat and the bourbon was evident but not overpowering. I asked behind the counter what he thought was the best and without skipping a beat he said "the ribs". And as a courtesy, he added a rib to my box to try. He's not wrong. It was delicious. I'm definitely up for trying the pork and brisket as well. On to the sides! The mac and cheese was very good - I'd gladly get it again. But the star for me were the green beans--plenty of flavor which is often missing from other eateries. All in all, I was way more impressed than I thought I would be.
